“Emily came to care for our young previously feral kittens shortly after we adopted them. We felt so bad leaving them but it became clear very quickly that they were in good hands. She was kind, patient and very attentive. It wasn't long before they came out from hiding and were purring in her lap. She was like the kitten whisperer! I highly recommend Emily!”

“Libby communicates great and my cats loved her. would trust her again with more babies the next time I am out of town. she communicates great and goes out of her way for their needs”

“Yahaira was wonderful. She was able to check on our cat last minute over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, and we really appreciated her flexibility, quick communication, and how kind she was to talk with. We’d 100% book with her again in the future.”

“Malia was punctual when she came over to meet my kitty before drop-ins. She communicated well prior to this meet. I’m so grateful she’s available. My kitty warmed right up to her!”

“Laura was fantastic! She was communicative and attentive. When we were late getting home due to unforeseen circumstances, she voluntarily went by to let our pup in the house. I would highly recommend Laura to take good care of your dog!”

I provide loving, reliable care by maintaining pets normal routines, including feeding times, fresh water, playtime, exercise, and cleaning up after them, while giving them plenty of attention and affection! I focus on creating a calm, safe environment where your pets feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for.

“I cannot recommend Clare more! She was so great with my pup, he absolutely loved his time spent with her while I was away. Clare went above and beyond to make sure my pup was receiving enough exercise daily. I had scheduled drop-in visits, and she stayed longer than the 30 minutes on multiple occasions. She was more than willing to communicate through text or the app and sent plenty of photos to keep me updated. ☆☆☆☆☆”

“We were busy with out of town wedding festivities for my daughter and Jenna made sure we didn’t have to worry about our pets for the whole weekend. She was responsible, flexible and extremely easy to communicate with.”

“I booked Maggie for a week of drop ins for my cats and received nothing but the best care for my babies. I’ll be returning for future requests and highly recommend their services. Thank you so much, Maggie!”

About: Hi my name is Aya I live in downtown Hood River in my own home with a fenced back yard. My boyfriend of 3 years and friend for over a decade lives with me but is often gone for work. Looking to help others while enjoying having a furry friend to keep me company. My little old man dog Vader passed away few years ago, he was almost 15. Had him since he was a pup and fostered many dogs at the local dog shelter in the past. My boyfriend and I are both helicopter pilots, fire fight in the summers and have most of the winters off. Majority of my time is spent at home, out in the garden or walking around the neighborhood. Come spring work starts to get busy. Rest assure if I’m watching your furry family member I will be home majority of every day working on the house being craft or out in the garden. Dog walks in my neighborhood are very safe and there’s a trail close to my house we can walk to. I am “on call” for 2 weeks every two weeks until fire season starts AND I will have annual training at some point in Feb. which is why I only have openings for one week or so at a time. I have a fenced yard with a dog door that can be closed if I leave but I usually keep it closed when I watch new dogs and definitely ones that can jump fences. My neighboorhood is very safe and I have security cameras around the perimeter and well as an alarm system.
About: I’ve been taking care of pets since I was in college. I have formed many trusting and genuine relationships with pet owners and have a true passion for animal-care. I have provided pet care in many states including Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Oregon. I am extremely reliable and take great care in my interactions with all animals I work with. I also have experience working at “Paws and Claws” for 2 years as a support staff in the kennels, during grooming appointments, and doggy-group playtime. I absolutely love animals, and would be overjoyed to spend quality time with your beloved furry friend! I work as a full time school-based speech-language pathologist during the day, giving me great hours to spend time with your animal in the morning, after school, and in the evenings. I am available on all weekdays, as well as the weekends! I am very flexible with my time and am more than happy to be flexible with your schedule. I currently live with roommates; therefore, any animal-care I provide will be in the home of the pet-owner. I am more than happy to stay with your animal(s) in the comfort of their own home.
About: I’ve had my Border Collie mixed breed since she was 8 weeks old; she’s going on 6 years and is my favorite creature in the whole world. I treat animals just like their family with love, respect, care, and safety. In addition to raising my own pup, I have lived in many households with several cats and other dogs that I assisted in the caretaking of. During high school and college in Colorado, I assisted in dog walking services and house sitting (pre-Rover times). I’m responsible, honest, and a total animal-lover. I’m a server who works part-time and mostly nights. My days are very free for playing with and walking pets! I’m your go-to gal. 💜 I will get your dog at the arranged time to provide the discussed service. Whether that is letting your dog outside to potty in their own yard and playing fetch, or going on a nice long walk, that’s up to you and our arrangement! I’m very flexible and will do what is needed for the dog and owner to both be comfortable and happy.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hood River
Kali did an excellent job caring for our cat for the 4 days we were away, including giving him lots of pets which he really likes, brush grooming, and playing with him & his toy. She was consistent with his feeding schedule and took care of his litter box--very complete pet services. You can tell our cat really likes her from her visit photos, which we are happy about and feel he is in good hands with her. We recommend her for cat sitting.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
