“Cory is wonderful!! Our dog is pretty nervous and hasn't been watched by many different people, she did an excellent job of asking the right questions and setting them up for success. They had a blast! Highly recommend Cory!”

About: I've owned dogs my entire life and have years of hands-on experience caring for and training them. I currently have well-trained hunting dogs, and my German Shorthaired Pointer is my best friend and constant adventure buddy. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and routine, and I take pride in providing patient, attentive care. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or just relaxing with good company, I'll treat them with the same care and respect I'd want for my own. I work a part time job in the evenings, the earliest I start is 2, sometimes 4 or 5 and I’m off around 9 and headed straight home! When caring for pets in your home, my priority is keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I'll make sure they stay on their regular feeding, walking, and potty schedule while giving them plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I'm experienced with dogs of all energy levels, including active breeds, and I'm comfortable administering basic medications if needed. I'll treat your home with the same respect I would my own—keeping it clean, secure, and following any instructions you provide. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you're away.
“I couldn't have dreamed up a better dog sitter. Charlie took the dogs on long walks in the woods everyday, and took them to swim in a pond. He sent several pictures every day to show me the adventures he was taking my dog on. He has great outdoor space for the dogs to play, and indoor space for them to rest. My dog was so happy at Charlie's, he seemed a little disappointed to come home.”

About: I recently moved to the Gorge from Asheville, NC, and I am so excited to meet you and your pups! My deep love for animals began at a very young age. Growing up, I was surrounded by pets of all shapes and sizes -from dogs and cats to farm animals, reptiles, and birds. That lifelong passion led me into a rewarding career in animal care. I have been a full-time professional dog groomer and daycare/boarding specialist for the past 20 years. I also have experience at a veterinary emergency center. In my free time, I would volunteer to walk shelter dogs. I understand that every dog is unique. Over two decades, I have developed extensive experience working with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I specialize in a slow, patient approach for nervous or shy dogs who need extra reassurance, and I am highly experienced in administering necessary medications. I treat every pet like family. My very first dog, an Airedale mix, lived to be 16 and a half years old. She had a long, beautiful life that I attribute to deep love, care, and proper attention. I bring that same standard of love and dedication to every animal I meet. I look forward to meeting you! I am currently a stay at home mom and we enjoy walking and hiking every day! Your pet will be included in everything! I understand some dogs enjoy lazy days too and I’m happy to accommodate that as well. I usually begin my morning with a walk and end it with one before bed. I am available to stay at your home or mine. I base this by whatever will make your pet feel the most comfortable. I have a friendly dog named Gator who misses playing with dogs while I worked at the grooming salon so bad, so I’m sure he’d be excited to join! We love going to the Bingen point “ dog park,”walking around the neighborhood near Daubenspeck park, Catherine creek, North Western, b.z falls, and the klickitat trail!
“Wow. Mackenzie saved us last minute when plans for our Meeko feel through. We were driving from Portland to Hood River area for a wedding and had nowhere to take him. She offered her services right away and was the absolute best person to leave him with for the weekend. She made us feel so comfortable from the moment we met, and sent updates and pictures all weekend. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend!!! Thank you again, Mackenzie for being absolutely amazing!!”

“Alison was great! Our 5 month pup enjoyed his stay. He was very well cared of. She sent us updates and pictures throughout his stay. This made us feel at ease since it was our first time being away from him. Thank you Alison!”

“Emily was so great!! She watched our golden retriever who has a lot of energy and my dog was so tired and happy when I picked her up. Her dogs are so sweet and had so much fun with my dog, and I felt like Emily was really caring and understanding of some diet needs she has. I’ll definitely board with her again!”

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog lover with experience in caring for puppies and older pups. I live just outside White Salmon, WA, with easy access to scenic walking trails and a spacious yard for playtime. I’ve volunteered as a puppy raiser for a nonprofit that trains service dogs, successfully raising four pups for their important roles. During the summer, my home is pet-free as my partner and our dog travel south, meaning your furry friend will have my undivided attention. I used Rover years ago when I was on a work assignment in CA. Since then, I have been caring for foster dogs and friends' pets. I offer overnight stays at my home or house-sitting in yours, ensuring your dog stays comfortable in a familiar environment. Since I work from home, your pup will have plenty of companionship and outside breaks throughout the day. Whether they need long walks, playtime, or just some company, I’m happy to make sure they’re well cared for while you’re away. Let’s chat about how I can make your dog feel at home! I work from home, so I often have time for outside breaks and play during the day. I keep busy on the weekends recreating in the area. I'm always happy to find adventures that work your pup! I have a large, partially fenced yard for playtime and potty breaks. We allow pets on our furniture, so your rules for your pets would apply here as well. I am also happy to travel to your home to care for your pet as needed. I like to learn how pet owners choose to care for their pets so I can be as consistent as possible.

I always prioritize their safety, happiness, and well-being.
“What a wonderful spot and such a kind and gracious couple. Samantha and Colton watched our standard poodle on a last minute booking. Scout loved her stay! She puttered around the farm, played with Mosely, their sweet and cheerful aussie, and was happy relaxed girl when we picked her up. The property is spacious, safe and so cool! Samantha and Colton are in the process of developing a beautiful vineyard along the Columbia River called, The Narrows. They shared a bottle with us and it is fantastic. Samantha kindly told us about the history of the property, showed us the progress they have made thus far, and shared their future plans. I would be thrilled to leave Scout there again and hope to visit once the winery is fully up and running. A great experience all around. I highly recommend Samantha and Colton for your 4-legged famiy member. Five stars all around!”

“Jaleh was wonderful with my dog, made her feel right at home and kept us updated with a sunbathing picture everyday 🤗 I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for coverage for their beloved animal.”

“Katlyn and her pack (of sweet, well behaved dogs) were a perfect match for my two Aussiedoodles. She let the girls come in and settle in and then off to the races. I loved how attentive she was in keeping me informed about their days and also sending pictures. It’s hard leaving our furbabies, but I was at great peace knowing they were in great, caring hands. We will definitely be booking with Katlyn again.”

“Emily came to care for our young previously feral kittens shortly after we adopted them. We felt so bad leaving them but it became clear very quickly that they were in good hands. She was kind, patient and very attentive. It wasn't long before they came out from hiding and were purring in her lap. She was like the kitten whisperer! I highly recommend Emily!”

“Libby communicates great and my cats loved her. would trust her again with more babies the next time I am out of town. she communicates great and goes out of her way for their needs”

“Sydney was great! She sent updates and pictures throughout our cat's time under her care. He was clearly at ease with her. Highly recommend! We'll be back with Sydney next time we need cat care in Hood River.”

“Skye-Ann is so conscientious and thoughtful! She took great care of our cat, even administering medications. When she saw an unrelated issue in our house she took care of it right away and let us know. It was very helpful!”

“Alihna did a wonderful job taking care of all 4 of our cats and house while we were out of town. She sent pictures and let me know how they were doing each day. The house was in great shape when we got home. It was nice to be able to go on vacation and not worry about anything at home. I definitely recommend her!”

“Natasha was great with our cats. She kept us updated throughout our trip with thorough details of how everything was going and sent photos as well. We would highly recommend her!”

“Haley was great with our cats. I was surprised to see that our male cat actually came out of hiding for her! He usually hides from people he doesn't know. She played with them and sent adorable pictures, and even returned an extra time without charging us when she realized a slight misunderstanding. We're looking forward to having Haley feed our cats again the next time we are out of town.”

“Hello, Thanks again for taking care of our four-legged family! They were not only alive, but seemed way less stressed than on previous trips to the vet for overnight stays. If you're available, we will certainly look to book you again. Aside- The door was locked, but we didn't see the top lock key on the keychain. Please let us know if you left it separately or need to drop it off. Thanks and take care!”

“Emily blew all my expectations out of the water. She came fully prepared to our interview and asked many detailed questions about my pets. She really went above and beyond, genuinely caring about their welfare (and their nervous mom’s!). My mom met her as well, and felt the same way. Very impressive job! I will definitely ask Emily if she is free the next time I take a trip!!”

“Loki had a nice relaxed time hanging out with Laura for the day while we were out and about seeing some sights around Hood River. Got a couple of fun pics of Loki throughout her stay, and Laura helped her feel like part of the family while there. Thanks, Laura, for taking such good care of my little old lady!”

“Cory was a lifesaver for me. I was in town for a wedding and frantic and she picked Franklin up and dropped him off for me at my hotel. She was super flexible about my time leaving since I wasn’t exactly sure when I’d be back. She sent me photos and updates the whole day. I’m so grateful she was available.”

About: I've basically been around dogs all my life and I love them dearly. I lived on a farm in Mexico for over 15 years and had my pack of 5 dogs. I enjoy playing and spending time with them, walks and talks :) I have patience for dogs like no other, their needs are my top priority. Every dog is a good dog🖤 I'm currently unemployed, so I'll have all the time in the world to take care and to have a fun time with your pup!! Walks, treats and belly rubs all day🖤 I have a fenced back yard that your pup and my pup can play in, many dog toys and of course the house to roam around in. My house isn't very small but not too big either, but its definitely safe for your pup 100%. I do walks locally, so it's safe and close to home!
“Our experience with Rebecca was excellent, and our pups experience, too! We were so happy to have updates and pictures throughout the day as it was our first time leaving him and we were a bit nervous. He was so well cared for while we were gone, came home happy and tired, and even got sent the rest of his chew stick home! We will definitely be back without hesitation.”

About: I'm an experienced dog sitter and former dog mom just returning to Rover and accepting new and returning clients! I have decades of experience taking care of dogs, including my own, friends', and dogs in rescues and shelters. I was the dog-walking coordinator for a dog rescue and a dog-walking volunteer for a public shelter for years. I actually grew up afraid of dogs and it was a big deal for me to start volunteering to walk strange dogs; it helped build my confidence, and I was -- and still am -- very attuned to what's going on with the creature at the other end of the leash. I believe every dog has unique needs and temperament and honor these while they're in my care to ensure they feel as secure and safe as possible. DOG SITTING AND BOARDING: I work from home, so your dog will get lots of attention and potty breaks. Your dog is welcome to join me on the couch or lie at my feet for regular pets, or chill in another room in or out of a crate. Whatever will make your dog feel most at ease while you're away. I recently lost my own 15-year-old dog, so your pup will be my sole focus (and will get lots of love and care). I have a fully fenced yard at my home for potty breaks (separate from walks/hikes). If you don't have a fully fenced yard at your home, it's no problem to take your dog for leashed potty walks as frequently as necessary.
About: (Please no dogs bigger than 60 lbs.) I am a retired teacher who loves dogs! Your dog will become part of our family during their stay with access to a fenced yard, a neighborhood park, plenty of walks and lots of snuggles. We have a backyard deck and front porches perfect for lounging and watching the world go by. I would be happy to help take care of any dog that gets along well with other dogs. I have experience with many dog personalities and temperaments from volunteering at Austin Pets Alive and Hood River Adopt-A-Dog. My availability is flexible and I am typically home the majority of the day. I will send frequent pictures and updates while you are away. We are able to watch 2 dogs from the same family, but we do tend to only have pets from one family at a time. We will send a link for a brief survey when we receive your boarding request in order to help us get to know your pup better. We take walks in wooded areas, so we ask that visiting dogs be on a flea/tick preventative. Also, we ask that visiting pups be comfortable negotiating laminate stairs since we live in a 3 story house. Thanks! We are retired and so are available to care for your pup. We will take your dog for a daily walk at one of the many outdoor natural spaces that the area has to offer. We have a fenced back yard which is accessed from the 2nd floor. If your dog prefers to cuddle in a crate, we have a crate.
“Libby helped me out while I was traveling to hood river for work. She was reliable, flexible, and took my dog on some great walks. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Rebecca went over and above coming a few days early to meet Kona and ask some questions about walking in our area. She was a solid communicator on game day and even sent a pic of the walk.”
