About: I'm an experienced dog sitter and former dog mom just returning to Rover and accepting new and returning clients! I have decades of experience taking care of dogs, including my own, friends', and dogs in rescues and shelters. I was the dog-walking coordinator for a dog rescue and a dog-walking volunteer for a public shelter for years. I actually grew up afraid of dogs and it was a big deal for me to start volunteering to walk strange dogs; it helped build my confidence, and I was -- and still am -- very attuned to what's going on with the creature at the other end of the leash. I believe every dog has unique needs and temperament and honor these while they're in my care to ensure they feel as secure and safe as possible. DOG SITTING AND BOARDING: I work from home as an editor, so your dog will get lots of attention and potty breaks. Your dog is welcome to join me on the couch or lie at my feet for regular pets, or chill in another room in or out of a crate. Whatever will make your dog feel most at ease while you're away. I recently lost my own 15-year-old dog, so your pup will be my sole focus (and will get lots of love and care). I have a fully fenced yard at my home for potty breaks (separate from walks/hikes). If you don't have a fully fenced yard at your home, it's no problem to take your dog for leashed potty walks as frequently as necessary.
About: I've had dogs my whole life and have been the go-to dog sitter for friends and family for the last 15 years. Whether it's energetic puppies or mellow seniors, I know how to tune in to each dog’s unique needs and make sure they feel safe, loved, and at home—even when you're away. We live on over 6 acres of land with a full acre securely fenced in, so your dog will have plenty of room to run, sniff, and explore safely. When your dog stays with me, they’ll get more than just walks and meals—they’ll get affection, playtime, and a calm, dependable environment. I treat every pet like family and I’m happy to follow your specific routines, preferences, and training methods to keep things consistent for your pup. Whether it’s daily updates, photo check-ins, or managing special needs, I’ve got you covered. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so I’m available to care for pets seven days a week. Your dog will get plenty of attention throughout the day, and I’m always nearby for walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. I have a three year old Chessie who loves new friends. I adjust each stay to fit your dog’s personality and needs, and I’m happy to follow any specific routines, including medications or crate training.

About: From the first veterinary and rescue clinic I worked with, I understood & appreciated my gift as a caretaker. I worked for a local shelter in my hometown, and grew fond of spending time with animals who needed extra love. The work pushed me to examine how we connect with animals. This compassion for taking care of animals expanded in college while I interned and spent time caring for penguins housed in the New England Aquarium. From Boston to Portland, I became a full time caretaker for animals and folks. I am a graduate of Suffolk University, and East West College of the Healing Arts. My knowledge of therapeutic massage and nurturing touch delivers unique care for all clients. These techniques are especially useful in calming the nervous system. You can rest assured, caring and consideration are my priorities with each individual and animal. About this sitter: Seeking seasonal work while building my private massage practice in town. A kind and intuitive person, who loves to be outdoors and care for all kinds of animals! I have reliable references and good standing with the people I've met along my journey. Let me know when you need someone to share love with your pet!
About: I've basically been around dogs all my life and I love them dearly. I lived on a farm in Mexico for over 15 years and had my pack of 5 dogs. I enjoy playing and spending time with them, walks and talks :) I have patience for dogs like no other, their needs are my top priority. Every dog is a good dog🖤 I'm currently unemployed, so I'll have all the time in the world to take care and to have a fun time with your pup!! Walks, treats and belly rubs all day🖤 I have a fenced back yard that your pup and my pup can play in, many dog toys and of course the house to roam around in. My house isn't very small but not too big either, but its definitely safe for your pup 100%. I do walks locally, so it's safe and close to home!
“Mackenzie was fantastic with our Moseley and Mochi was such a fun new friend! The pups were fast friends and had a great time together. So happy to have Makenzie in the Gorge for pup playdates that allow us some time to do things where our pooch cannot join us, all while knowing she is having as much fun as we are!”

“Rebecca responded quickly to all of our questions and was patient. We had never put our dog Izzie in a kennel before. The photos of their facilities gave a good sense of what the dogs were provided with inside and outside, and photos of Izzie Rebecca sent to us on the days Rebecca was caring for Izzie were fun and reassuring. Lastly, their roaming farm animals were a delight. We will kennel our dog with Rebecca whenever we are in this part of the Columbia Gorge.”

“Sam has a great property for dog sitting, fully fenced in with indoor AC available. My two dogs fully enjoyed their stay, helping with the garden and playing with her adorable pup. I would highly recommend Sam as a pet sitter. 15/10 experience!”
