Tovah was fantastic at communicating before and during the sitting reservation. She was polite, friendly, and I felt absolutely safe leaving my dogs in her hands. It was a weird week, and she was beyond professional with every twist and turn. Would 100% book her again.

About: I have had pets since I was in my 20’s. There’s only been one year in my adult life I didn’t have a pet of my own. My Pomeranian, Hank was diabetic requiring 2 insulin shots a day for 6 years. Then came Maizee, my toy Poodle. She lived to be 15. We just lost her in October 2025. I am still mourning my tiny little love. She had heart and kidney disease and required medication three times a day. Our remaining dog is Lucy. She is a Poodle too and the love of my life, just don’t tell my husband. My world revolves around her. I make her a homemade diet about every 3 weeks and I dehydrate meat for her treats. My husband always says when he dies he wants to come back as my dog. I haven’t had a job outside the home for 13-14 years. Since we recently lost Maizee I have more time. My husband didn’t administer her medications. My dog, Lucy also adores her dad making it possible to be away for short periods of time. Years and years ago I lost my Dachshund to the road. I was devastated! That incident made me aware of all the dangers they can encounter.

About: Besides training and owning many dogs since I was a child , have put myself back through college 3 years ago and got my degrees in Canine Behavior, Canine Calming Signals, Canine Body Posture , Canine Basic Training and Canine First Aid and now starting on my Service Dog Training degree. Ive always had a heart for dogs of every breed and am working on working with them for the rest of my life to help them with their humans , and helping their humans understand their dogs. As much as I would love to take care of dogs all day, for the time being my financial structure is working full time at Pointe Royale Golf and Condo which I need to do to fulfill my dog training career. The weekend is all I can do for now. It would consist of alot of fun time with some basic training as well. It would have to be in your home because my landlord doesn't allow pets. It makes more sense to me anyway to keep the dog in their own environment for stress reasons.

About: Hi pet parents! I’m Marci, and I’ve been house and pet sitting for over 12 years with excellent references available upon request. I grew up in Southern Missouri around a wide variety of animals, which gave me early hands-on experience with training and daily care. Professionally, I’ve worked in both exotic and domestic animal environments, including a zoo setting caring for livestock (such as alpacas, ponies, and young camels) and aviary birds, as well as a high-volume dog boarding/daycare facility in Phoenix, AZ where I worked with 150+ dogs daily. This gave me a strong understanding of dog behavior, group dynamics, and handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I’m confident with drop-in visits, walks, overnight stays, and maintaining your pet’s routine exactly as needed—including feeding, exercise, medication, and companionship. I especially enjoy walks, enrichment, and positive reinforcement training for puppies and energetic dogs, always prioritizing safety, structure, and calm, happy behavior. I’m dependable, communicative, and treat every home and pet with respect and care as if they were my own. I have reliable transportation and auto insurance for peace of mind. I currently live in Branson, Missouri and am a stay at home mom/photographer. My daughter is very gentle, calm, and accustomed to being around animals. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets (or home) and give you peace of mind while you’re away. My daily and weekly schedule is highly flexible and I am available for pet and home care nearly always. If for some reason I am I available my calendar should reflect that - or just ask because I might be available anyway. I am very mindful and cautious, especially when it comes to animals and children. In my home there are no small objects or sharp objects that could harm or be cause for choking hazards. I don’t feed your pet extra treats that aren’t approved by you, and I keep them safe by making sure doors are closed so they don’t run off.

About: What sets me apart is a lifetime of hands-on experience and genuine love for animals. I am a retired Quarter Horse and dog rancher with over 54 years of experience caring for animals of all kinds. Throughout my life, animals have never just been a job—they’ve been my passion, my pride, and my joy. I service BRANSON MO, TABLE ROCK AREA, I am Close to INDIAN POINT, SILVER DOLLAR CITY, AND THE CHATEAU OF THE LAKES HOTEL & RESORTS, 15 MINUTES TO THE ENTERTAINMENT. I live in a private gated and safe community. In addition to running a ranch, I’ve worked as a veterinary assistant, which gives me a deeper understanding of animal health, behavior, and safety. I’m comfortable recognizing signs of stress or illness and responding appropriately. I treat every animal in my care like family. Whether it’s a quick visit or an extended stay, your pets will be cared for with the same attention, patience, and love I’ve given my own animals for decades. Their comfort, safety, and happiness always come first. With my background, you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are in experienced, capable, and truly caring hands. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work during the day, but I dedicate my evenings and weekends to pet sitting, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, consistency, and care during those times. My schedule works especially well for pet owners who need reliable evening check-ins, overnight care, or weekend coverage. I make sure each visit is unhurried so your pets receive the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. Caring for animals has always been a big part of my life, so even with my daytime responsibilities, I prioritize making time to ensure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I care for pets in their home by keeping their routine consistent and their environment calm and safe. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding, medications, and daily habits. With my background as a rancher and former veterinary assistant, I pay close attention to behavior and safety. I also treat every home with respect—keeping it clean, secure, and just as I found it. I provide updates so owners feel at ease, and I treat every pet like my own—with patience, care, and love.

About: I have taken care of senior dogs who are no longer themselves, dementia, potty issues, etc. I have taken care of kittens and puppies less than a week old as well ! I have an open schedule so most times of the day work for me. I would prefer nights or overnight sitting. It is very rewarding. I can easily defuse situations that aren’t going as planned. If crate training is something you do that’s no problem! I grew up around crate training and keeping your pet safe is my top priority!

About: I love dogs and working with dogs. I am an experienced dog sitter/ trainer. My mother has fostered dogs since I was born 30+ years ago. I have cared for just about every dog there is. I took canine science class in High school and learned how to properly care/groom/train/canine CPR. I'm also human CPR certified just in case you get heart broken leaving your pet. I have experience in caring for dogs with medical conditions (giving treatment etc.) Nothing makes me happier than making a new fury friend. I understand that most peoples animals are not pets but family. Extended About me: I'm a Cancer. I was born in Florida and moved to Texas in 2000 to go to an electrical trade school. I was a commercial electrician, these days im battling for disability. I like to tinker with inventions, teach myself new skills (im a bit of a collector of them. #ADHD.) Why I love dog sitting I've loved animals my whole life. Growing up I've had many best friends come and go. My mother was a dog sitter. wide open schedule, easy to work with because I'm flexible with, quick responses. able to skip meet and greets for owners tight scheduling convenience. meets also welcome About my yard dogs will stay inside with us. there's is no backyard that they will get left in therefore zero possibility of an unnoticed escape. I use to have a fenced back yard with a ton of space but Due to my disability and a house stealing con artist, I lost that house and was forced to move to Missouri. I would like to get an awesome set up again someday but in the meantime all potty breaks are on a leash as much as they need. I'm right next door to the dog park with a hiking trail. Hanely park if you'd like to google it.

About: We love dogs! We are called first when any of our friends go out of town. We have cared for dogs of all sizes and ages from older doxies to young mutts and we love large rotties too. We are also okay with special needs dogs and we make sure your dog gets their medications when scheduled. Our lab loves to make new friends with dogs of all sizes. We have a nice privacy fenced in back yard with a kiddie pool to help the dogs keep cool during the summer even though they will spend most of the time inside. Please know that if your pup stays with us he or she will be treated like a part of the family. We love dogs! I help my Dad on his farm only when I'm not scheduled to care for a pup I'm hosting. I'm free to stay at home all day with your pet. I always keep an eye on what's going on. I'm usually outside if our pups are. If I'm watching a pet at your home, I don't make messes.

Very knowledgeable and made me comfortable leaving my pupper dog in her hands. Kept us updated the whole time with photos and videos. I was worried about leaving Koda during his torn ACL recovery but she let me know when he was getting worse and getting better. Come to find out he was getting worse because she found he was spitting out his meds lol. Im grateful she didnt let it slide, she made the effort to help him out to get him back on track with his recovery. Great communicator and educator. Highly recommend!

Tovah was amazing! She was so helpful to meet our booking needs and was a good communicator which helped put us at ease. We had 2 dogs with fear aggression and anxiety and 1 other dog with no major behavioral issues during our stay. The dogs had never met each other and Tovah knew exactly what to do! She kept us updated on how everyone was doing and feeling and sent us pictures when they calmed down after we left. She also took the time to give us tips which are invaluable to us! No matter what dog or issues they have, we highly recommend her! Tovah is our new fur-iend and we are blessed she was our sitter in the Branson area!

Jodi was amazing with Louie and Maggie. She paid close attention to every detail, especially Louie's medications, which gave us so much peace of mind. FAQs for House Sitting - Hollister

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hollister on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 142 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hollister. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hollister walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hollister maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hollister choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
