“I can see that Megan is clearly a dog person! My pups got so much attention from her on her visits while we were out of town for the weekend. Between treats, belly rubs, and snuggles (loved the pictures!) my dogs got royal treatment. And the attention to detail (did they thoroughly do their business before she left, etc) was unmatched. Thank you! I highly recommend Megan to anyone needing a dog-sitter!”

“Abbigail was very quick to respond to any questions I had. I felt comfortable, trusting her with my baby. He can be shy sometimes, but he enjoyed his walk with her. I will happily book her again.”

“We had a fantastic experience with Sara (AKA Rosie) while we were away for five days in South Carolina. She was incredibly reliable, completing every single scheduled drop-in (3 times per day) without missing a beat. What truly sets her apart is how much quality time she spends with the dogs—not just letting them out quickly, but actually sitting with them, playing, and giving them space to run and explore in our large yard. Our doorbell would notify us when she showed up at the house and she was always out in the yard with the dogs while they explored. She followed all care instructions, including administering their daily joint supplements, and kept me constantly updated with detailed reports and at least 10 photos per visit—which meant I was getting about 30 pictures a day of my dogs being happy, active, and well cared for. That level of visibility gave me so much peace of mind. She was also incredibly proactive: when one of my dogs ran off to a less visible part of the yard, she immediately notified me and took steps to make sure he was safe (he was probably sniffing groundhog holes and choosing not to listen because he loves the yard). I also appreciated her sharing a funny moment when my dogs calmly sniffed a wild bunny—they weren’t aggressive, just curious, and it was comforting to know she filled me in on notable happenings while I was away. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust her with our pets again—she’s professional, dependable, communicative, and clearly has a real love for animals. Highly recommend!”
“Mariah is amazing! She helps care for my new puppy while I’m at work during the day, and I couldn’t be happier with her. She’s incredibly responsive, flexible, and reliable. I always feel confident knowing my puppy is in such good and safe hands. Highly recommend her!”

“Schatzi, our 15 week Cavapoo, loved Lori’s play session/drop-in. Lori is loving, kind and amazing, we will be asking her over often. She sent videos and pics of their session; loved to look at them.”

She provided adorable pictures of our babies while we were gone and recorded their pee/poo/water breaks aswell. Whether your dog needs a walk, some playtime, a potty break, or just a little extra love and attention, I’ll care for them like I would my own. I can easily accommodate drop-in visits, walks, and pet care around my family’s schedule. I always prioritize making sure your pets feel loved, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away! We are not able to watch pets in our home at this time. We have four little ones, two dogs, and a cat- it’s a full house!
About: I grew up around many different types of dogs. I’ve raised my two dogs (Sirius and Archer, Aussie mixes) from puppies, and trained them both myself. They are both about 70 pounds, but I also had a French Mastiff, so large breeds aren’t an issue as long as they are properly trained. I currently work mostly afternoons and evenings, so providing care between 7AM and 1PM during weekdays is ideal. I don’t work every day, so if there’s another day or time you need, let me know, and I’ll check my availability. I’m happy to come to your home to play with, feed, and walk your pup(s)! My boys are pretty high energy, so I’m very used to having to entertain them.

About: I am a recent new graduate Physician Assistant and looking for employment. I have always adored animals and have pet sat for friends and families’ pets over the years. As a new graduate looking for a job, I have a lot of new free time on my hands and cannot think of a better way to fill the extra time that I have and to help make a little money than spending time and caring for animals! I am open to dog walking as well as drop in visits and overnight stays with you pet in your home! I will treat your pets with the same love, care, and attention that I give my own. Their safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priorities, and you can trust that they’ll be in kind and responsible hands. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member(s)! My hours at the hospital very, however, they are typically four shifts per week during the weekdays at varying hours. I am usually free both weekend days. My availability changes quite often and I will keep my profile updated! I am open to walking or doing drop in visits before and after visits and overnight visits when available! Please reach out if you have specific questions regarding availability. I am comfortable handling pets with a variety of needs. I was lucky enough to foster a beagle with diabetes with my college roommates, and this required administering daily insulin shots along with several oral medications.
“Caralyn was absolutely amazing!! She took excellent care of our two cats while we were away. She’s a great communicator, and sent us daily updates on how the girls were doing. We really appreciated her gentle, compassionate approach with them, and know they were well taken care of! We would definitely book Caralyn again :)”

“Dana is absolutely awesome. She went out of her way to make my spicy girl comfortable with her and actually got to pet her !! She is a true animal lover and I will always trust my pets with her .”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats when younger and a bit recently. Friends and neighbors have used me to check in on their pets and taken care of them. I have had cats for 12 years and currently have two 3 year old cats! Currently open for any/all bookings and have plenty of time for caring and loving for your pets. I am not very busy so even if you need last minute bookings I will most likely be available to care for your pet. About: I have been taking care of neighbors, friends, & family pets since I was in middle school. I own two very unique cats, Daemon & Love that i adore & keep me busy sometimes. I love taking dogs or cats on walks. I used to love having my dog go on a run with me, but she has long since passed away. She wasn't the best at some dog commands from training, but she did enjoy getting a treat when she did listen. My work schedule is flexible during the week due to my level. I typically can come anytime in the early morning to about 10am & then evenings after 6pm. If someone is very close by, I can stop over during a lunch break as well around 2pm. I live in a two story condo, so my cats typically have run of my house. I adapt to anyone's preferences & home environment to care for their family fur baby to make sure they are comfortable while someone ia away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
