About: 🌺 I will be on hiatus July-August for surgery and recovery🌺 I bring over 10 years of hands-on experience working with animals, including more than 5 years as a kennel assistant and 5 years as a veterinary assistant. In addition to caring for my own pets, I’ve developed strong skills in administering medications, including insulin and asthma treatments. About: I’ve been the primary caretaker for my dog for the past 7 years, handling everything from daily walks and feedings to baths and medication. I walk him at least four times a day and try to get in a longer mile-ish walk a few times a week so he can explore at his own pace. I’ve also cared for several friends’ dogs for multi-day stays ranging from a couple of days to over a week. Between that and growing up around pets, I’m very comfortable reading a dog’s personality and routine. My wife has lived with dogs her whole life as well, so our home is very dog friendly. Dogs are welcome on the couch and our own dog sleeps in bed with us. I’ve also done a fair bit of basic training with him. I taught him “wait” (stay), helped him get comfortable with paw cleaning after walks, and even set up a little “dog nest” on the bed that he now uses as his sleeping spot. I’m attentive to routines, meds, and the little details that make pets feel comfortable. I work from home, so pet care fits very naturally into my day. I’m around most of the time and able to give dogs attention, bathroom breaks, and supervision throughout the day. Our normal routine is a morning outing, one in the afternoon, another around 5–6pm, and a final one around 9pm before bed. If a dog needs to go out sooner or starts pawing at the door, I’m always happy to take them out. I try to fit in longer walks when the weather and work schedule allow, usually in the evenings. Because I’m home during the day, pets aren’t left alone for long stretches and get plenty of interaction. I work from home and have a wrap-around fenced yard, so dogs have plenty of safe space to wander and get fresh air. I keep a close eye on them when they’re outside and follow their normal routines as closely as possible. Inside, dogs are welcome to relax and make themselves comfortable. Our home is very dog friendly, and we’re used to having pets around. If a dog needs to be crated for sleeping or while we step out briefly, we do have a crate available. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, medications, and any specific instructions from owners. I’m also happy to send photos or videos throughout the stay so you can see how your pet is doing.

For example, Lovely was shy to go in the house at first, so Maple set her up on a long-line on the deck and kept the door open so Lovely could go inside whenever she was ready. I currently have 3 cats and 1 dog, so I’m very familiar with different personalities, routines, and energy levels! I’ve grown up caring for Labs, Rottweilers, Chihuahuas, Border Collies, Huskies, and a Mini Goldendoodle — so I understand everything from high-energy working breeds to small companion dogs. When I was 14 years old, I became the primary caregiver for my Chihuahua, who was under a year old when we brought her home. Dogs are never isolated and can stay near me while I work, helping them feel comfortable and secure. Of course, I always prioritize safe, positive introductions and will separate dogs if needed to ensure everyone feels comfortable. I provide regular walks, playtime, and enrichment based on each dog’s energy level — whether that’s relaxed outdoor time or more active exercise. I follow feeding schedules, routines, and any specific care instructions closely to make the transition from your home to mine as smooth as possible. Drop-In Visits (Client’s Home): For drop-ins, I focus on keeping your dog’s routine consistent in their familiar environment. Visits can include feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and lots of attention. I always respect your home and leave it exactly as I found it, and I provide updates so you feel confident your pet is in good hands.
