“Deanna and her husband were absolutely WONDERFUL. The care and attention that was given to Maximus was more than I could ever imagine. I am extremely pleased with the updates and photos since it was his first time staying with Deanna. It definitely put me at ease knowing he was in excellent care.”

About: My farm is a beautiful sanctuary that we love to share with all furry friends! Whether they want to splash in the pool, run outside in a safe CLEAN secure area, or just have a nice snuggle in their indoor kennel or maybe even stretch out on the couch- just know they’ll be wagging to come back! I have 6 horses on the property, 13 chickens, 2 turkeys, 2 outdoor barn cats, and my Friendly Laid back dog Archie. I provide love & care which is more important than anything else. But of course- I follow parents rules! My entire life revolves around my farm and caring for all of my animals. I am on the property 24/7 as this is my full time job. And luckily it’s my passion. We have a beautiful fenced in pasture with lots of space to run. We are in a very private and rural area. We also have a pool- only if parents are OK and the Pup chooses to take a dip! Your Pup will always be supervised. If there are restrictions we will always abide by them. We also have dog crates if needed or requested and a beautiful inside area as well. Basically your Pup is gonna have free range and feel a home away from home.
“Cynthia was great with my 1 1/2 year old Sheltie. She allowed us to meet her and her pup a couple of weeks before our vacation, to make sure we all were comfortable with each other. Drop off day was hard for us since our Sheltie is only 1.5 year’s old and a rescue, we didn’t want to stress her out too much. Cynthia has lots of experience with rescues and was quick to pick up on her needs. During the vacation she sent us many videos and pictures, which helped a great deal. On pick up day she sent us home with homemade treats, bully stick, and a freshly laundered dog bed. I will definitely use Rover and Cynthia again!!!!”

“Mike was fantastic sitter for axel! We were sent daily photos and updates and knew he was in great hands while we were away for a week. We were sent updates and would definitely use Mike again.”

“Our dog Cooper seemed so happy during his overnight boarding. He normally doesn’t eat at first when being boarded but he was enjoying a treat and eating his breakfast within moments of being dropped off. We received thoughtful updates and photos and Cooper was relaxed, comfortable and had settled in so quickly. Fantastic communication and quick responses made our trip stress free; we knew our dog was in good hands!”

“Jeren was absolutely incredible! I had to make several changes within a few days before our booking and she was so quick to respond and accommodate. Jeren constantly kept us updated with pictures and videos of our baby throughout his visit. We are so grateful and will definitely be booking again!”

“Jermaine was so accommodating for me as I book him for a last-minute work trip. Text me pictures and update as I was on my busy trip thinking of my baby girl. Definitely will utilize his services again.”

About: My Work History: My 30 plus career was in Quality and Risk for financial institutions most recently ending a contractor position mid summer of 2023. About Me: I had the opportunity to take a career hiatus after ending a 15 year career to focus on family with the plan to return to work within the year. Then Covid hit. As a result I was fortunate to stay home longer than anticipated and care for our families new addition, our now five year old Bulldog, Boxer, Shepherd Mix. This made me realize the importance of her growth and safety as she flourished with consistency during human connection. I believe this alleviated her diagnosed anxiety and gave her a sense of not only security but happiness. As long as I can remember I have had a passion for connecting with pets and making sure they are not just cared for by feeding and walking, but to also make them feel safe with their caretaker. I believe animals should respect humans and at the same time humans should respect the loyalty, love and health of their pets. My entire life I have owned Chocolate Labrador Retrievers, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and two cats. Most proudly I have raised 5 kids who have had hamsters' and fish while 2 children left them in our care when spending half their time with their other parental unit. Over 4 years ago I hired a trainer for our family dog and have skills that can be put to use to help your dog if they are currently in training. I am familiar with crates and to identify when a dog may not feel safe, anxious and when they give a warning to people to back off if they are not in their best mood. I am familiar with the laws of Delaware for on leash and off leash. I am also happy to give your loyal pet its daily medication during the visit if needed. My years working in Quality, Risk, Mother and Animal owner makes me a great candidate for communicating in a way to effectively resolve any possible difference of opinion and believe that starts with listening and respecting the other person. If at any time you are not satisfied and need me to change a routine or approach I am happy to make those adjustments as long as we both feel comfortable with the outcome. My goal is for you to feel relaxed knowing that I am there to take care of your loyal family pet. Truth be told, having 5 kids that are successful, self-sufficient and polite makes me a great candidate to work with you and your family pet. I am currently a homemaker looking for a new career and my love and history of owning animals (since the age of 11) makes aware of the importance of availability. I care for my own animal with a routine first. Animals feel happy and safe with routines. My dog knows when it's time to go outside, time for a treat and when to play. If that's not built into the daily schedule then that can take a while to acclimate depending on the animal. If I were in a client's home I should not be caught off guard on what they expect and or what they would like to set as a routine. For instance, if I have 2 visits for one home and their animal(s) we would need to know if there is feeding, water, medicine and walking or exercising during each visit. If I notice they are not eating or drinking or playful during those visits I would want to discuss with the client to consider whether or not there are options to help their pet thrive with nutrition. I am also aware of foods that should not be provided to the dog, nor would I bring my own treats unless it was approved by Rover and Client.
“Zelie was great! She responded quickly to messages and was kind and flexible especially when we asked to add an additional night to our dogs stay at the last minute. She also sent good updates, pictures and even a couple short videos! I definitely hope to book her again!!”

“Amrita was amazing. She took great care of my dog Starky! She was very accommodating to my picky eater. When I picked him up after his stay, he came running to me then went back to her which tells me how much he loved her. Thank you Amrita for taking care of Starky as your own!”

About: I have owned dogs since childhood, ranging from 60lbs to 150lbs. I have walked dogs and dog sat since I was a teenager. I have 4 dogs of my own, 3 of which are XL, and always have a foster dog as well. I am very active and would be happy to provide your dog with extra activity like hiking or running if you want them to come along for an adventure. I have experience with pet therapy for the last 15 years as well. If you are boarding with me, during the work week, I come home for lunch so my pets don’t ever go more than five hours without a let out. I can accommodate early morning or later in the evening walks or let outs on weekdays. Weekends are very open for me! I am able to accommodate dog friendly dogs for boarding who can integrate into our pack. I have a male Cane Corso, a male Great Dane, a female Great Dane and a female Lab. They are all fixed and all dog and cat friendly. I can also accommodate non-dog friendly dogs as long as they are crate trained and comfortable in a room with busy toys and treats. They will still receive one on one attention and play time. For drop-ins, I am happy to utilize your yard for let outs and/or play time or very happy to walk your dog/s. For boarding, I have a fully fenced in portion of yard. I do not live in a neighborhood, so if your dog requires walks while boarding, I live 5 minutes from a park. I have cared for senior dogs as well as special needs dogs. I am very comfortable administering medications and sub q fluids. My one dog receives daily fluids. Pet care is essentially my whole life :) With 4 dogs, life revolves around them. Their needs are prioritized and whatever accommodations need to be made can be made. Happy to provide your dogs with walks, playing tug, mental stimulation or just snuggles. If your dog is active, I’d be thrilled to take them for hikes or runs.

“Angie and her husband took great care of my dog! They sent me several pictures throughout the weekend so I knew my dog was in good hands and she was having lots of fun. I will definitely have her watch my dog again.”

About: I grew up on retired farm land, so I gained lots of experience raising and training several dog breeds, all sizes and ages. We rescued and fostered several dogs, cats, and rabbits over the years. As an adult I started fostering dogs and rabbits myself. Until recently, I was fostering primarily dogs. I have 2 shepheards and 2 pitbulls permanently placed in my home, as well as a dwarf rabbit. 2 of my dogs are trained and registered as service animals. I have a very adaptable home with lots of indoor/outdoor play space, as well as space to be separated as needed. I are very particular about keeping our food and water bowls clean with washing every day. I am happy to love you fur babies! There is rarely ever a time my pets are home alone. They all free roam and coexist peacfully, so I have a very calm house usually. We have a go out/walking schedule we follow to ensure proper exercise, as well as a secure feeding routine. My fiancé works full time, so I am the full time caretaker of the animals. Stranger pets in my home are introduced calmly and carefully, as to maintain a safe environment for all. Higher energy dogs meet my shepheards first, calmer animals meet my old boy first. My animals stay leashed infront of guests until a calmness has been reached. I have separate feeding bowls for all animals, water is communal as to resist territorial behavior. If calmness can not be reached, I have space to separate any unrully animals as needed. As a stranger in another animals home, I aproach very calmly and happily to respect their space. I am very adaptable to understanding and applying a feeding/walking schedule. Play time is always important, and my favorite part of the day! Lots of play time and pets are given to fur babies.

About: I have had pets all my life of all sizes, ages, needs, species etc. In 2018 I started fostering dogs from there I became more passionate with animals. I work part time at a local pet food and supply store, when I am not there I am typically home taking care of my pets, helping my rescue I foster with or at school. When letting any pets out I make sure to stand near just in case anything happens, I make sure water is clean and fresh and the bowls are clean. I also like to play with the pets a bit to make sure they are not lonely.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
