Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine—it’s like a built-in rhythm. Mornings usually start with feeding them and a quick check-in to see how they’re doing. If I’ve got a dog, a walk’s non-negotiable; it’s good for both of us. Throughout the day, it’s little things—refilling water, a bit of playtime, or just keeping an eye out for anything off. Weekly, I carve out time for grooming, like brushing or a bath if they need it, and I’ll check supplies—food, treats, meds—to make sure I’m not running low. It’s less about ‘fitting it in’ and more about it being a priority that keeps me grounded. For clients’ dogs, I stick to their playbook. They say ‘feed at 8, one scoop,’ I’m on it. Walks are by their clock—long ones, short loops, whatever the dog needs. I’ll toss a ball or just hang out if that’s their vibe. I watch for quirks—doesn’t eat without a pat, hates rain, that stuff—and adjust. Messes don’t linger I swipe paws if it’s wet out. They get a dog that’s fed, exercised, and happy, and a house still intact.

“Our previous sitter told me they are moving, which prompted me to search for a new sitter. I decided to try Rebecca, and am I glad I did! I was happy with our first sitter, but LuLu spent her time there just sniffing their yard and snuggling up on the couch with the sitter. She barely ate and wouldn't play with their dog. It was such a delight to see how happy LuLu was at Rebecca's place. She ran around the yard like I haven't seen her do since she was a puppy. When Rebecca thought LuLu needed a rest and brought her inside, LuLu whined to go back out, so out she went for more running around! Finally, she took a nap on the couch, then got up and ate all of her dinner. Then she settled down chewing on her toy until we came back for her. She was happy to see us, but gave Rebecca a tail wag when they said goodbye. I'm so glad LuLu found a place where she can thrive when we're gone. Now I won't hesitate to book a vacation! Rebecca was very attentive to the history I gave her about LuLu and my instructions about her routine and fears. We did a Meet & Greet on short notice, and Rebecca showed LuLu and me her back yard and inside her house. She assured me that she would never give LuLu an opportunity to run away. The way Rebecca gave me updates all day long assured me that LuLu was being well cared for and was having a great time. Rebecca is definitely Lulu's new sitter. I couldn't be happier with her care.”

About: I have had dogs our entire life! I treat our own dogs like our children! I am experienced with senior care ! I live on a Walking Trail which is convenient for me and your fur baby. I have 2 small dogs who will keep your dog company I will be at home 24/7…. I am also home on the weekends. So your baby will never be left alone and unattended! Your pet will be the priority! I live on a Walking Trail , so I can take your dogs for walks daily. I can administer meds if needed. I can ensure you that your dog will be # 1 priority, because honestly I treat our dogs like Kings !

About: I've had a 91 lb labradoodle from puppy to now for about 4 years. I've also been told that my cat adopted me about 1.5 years ago. My dog is a happy go lucky guy who's never met a person or animal he didn't like. My cat is about 15 years old and requires injectable medication twice a day, so nothing scares me when it comes to medication. I've taken care of the odd African Grey Parrot from time to time as well. I take my dog out every morning, lunch time and several times in the evening for walks and play. Our cat needs medicine twice a day that requires an injection so I'm well versed in providing medication and taking care of animals with special needs. There's a giant pop up blocking what this field is meant to say but it's saying I have to fill it in, perhaps I can update it later when the pop up is gone.

“This is how my story started......I was in Roanoke for the Nomad convention at the Sheraton. It is dog friendly & I have my baby w me... she has always traveled well.. but she is now older & she is having separation anxiety when I leave the room! She barks & wont stop! She is a tri color chihuahua ! I can't leave the room & I can't take her to the car show because of the heat! I have never left her .. a bit nervous about doing so.. but thought I would search for Dog Care in area! My story ends in a meet & greet that started a new friendship! Paula was so comforting and reassuring that I wanted to stay with her! I had never left Mia w anyone before! Paula sent me pictures & text about Mia, including one where Mia was a bed hog! About: I have 2 dogs and 1 cat at our beautiful home in VA. They have all of my attention as a child would. I treat other people’s fur babies like they are my own. I believe I can do great in an environment surrounded by what I love most, which is why I chose to care for animals full time. I have an open schedule that will most likely meet your needs so I can give your fur baby my full and uninterrupted attention. I love soaking up the sun so we will get plenty of outside time instead of sitting inside all day. I have a big fenced in yard and 2 of my own doggos to help keep yours (if boarding in my home) happy and full of energy. I have several families that reach out to me when they are planning a trip so that I can care for their pets while they are away. My goal is to love their pets as if they are my own. I have cared for our own dogs as seniors and have experience with failing body functions and know how to administer medications and assist the animal with getting up and moving around. I also have much experience with puppies since I breed Australian Shepherds and care for the puppies from the time they are born until they are at an appropriate age and health standard to go to their new families. It’s hard enough to say good-bye, so having peace of mind on how they will be cared for while you are away can make a good trip a GREAT one!! I am available most days of the week for 24/7 care since we are a homeschooling family and I am a stay at home mom. Pets are allowed in our home as long as they get along well with other pets and children. I do have an unground fence and collars that I can use to teach your pet to stay in our yard. I also have two nice size kennels that give dogs plenty of room to wander inside and outside the kennel walls.

About: I've taken care of cats all my life and dogs from time to time. From back when I was a teen at home with our family cat to my own Tuxedo Kiwi I've been caring for cats all my life.
