“John did an excellent job of taking care of our Puddles. He has a very welcoming home, loving demeanor, and cares deeply for the dogs he watches. John did a great job of sending daily updates and was able to give the needed medication without a problem. Highly recommend.”

“Awesome family! So kind and loving. Our Miso got lots of exercise from their family dogs too! Theresa was so flexible with the timing of our drop off and pick up, made our trip much less stressful! Thank you! Will definitely use you in the future.”

“Best. Sitter. EVER. I've tried and been happy (or not) with many boarders, but Jody goes way above and beyond. She's not just knowledgeable and reassuring, she's sweet and kind and will love your fur babies for you. I live in Roanoke, whereas she's in Moneta. But this was such a blessing!! I wanted somewhere Harriet could run and play and feel free and happy. Jody delivers this in a big way- she has several yards of varying sizes with over animals to play with. I kept telling my girl she was going to summer camp, and it turned out to be so true. I don't think she even missed me that much! Please don't let the distance deter you. Jody even offers pickup and drop off services. Harriet gets so anxious going to a boarder's house, but as soon as Jody pulled up, Harriet started wagging her tail and jumped right in her car before I could say goodbye. She's with the dogs all the time- you won't be leaving your pup with someone who leaves them alone. Harriet is very social, and I can tell from just the pictures and videos that her physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met in every way. Please seriously consider Jody- she's phenomenal. I don't really want to tell you this because I want to keep her all to myself, but that would be a gross injustice. She's the best. I won't even consider anyone else again- I'll just move my vacation plans around.”
“Shannon took great care of our Bernedoodle puppy! She was happy to keep our puppy’s usual routine so that the adjustment to a new place for a few days was as easy a possible. Shannon was very easy to communicate with and sent us lots of pictures and updates on how everything was going. Our pup came home very happy and had a great time playing with Shannon’s other dogs. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Samantha was beyond patient and kind with our young pup! She kept us informed via text and pics during the entire stay, which made us feel at ease. We are excited to have someone we trust to care for her when we go out of town!”

“They looked like they had a great time! Was given plenty of attention and treats. Did not appear overly hungry or thirsty when we brought them back home telling me they were given plenty of food and water. Liked that Lydia has a fenced in back yard and appreciated the daily picture updates and video without me having to ask first. Was also able to get us in last minute and was very responsive. Would highly recommend!”

“Shawn was wonderful! She kept me updated throughout the entire stay. My pups were very comfortable and happy during their stay. I would choose Shawn every time to watch my pups, they had an amazing time! I didn’t have to worry about my dogs once while they were in Shawn’s care!”

“Taylor was a fantastic sitter for Oslo. I received updates and pictures, and did not have to worry when he was with her. I will be leaving Oslo with Taylor in the future, and recommend her to anybody in Roanoke looking for a Rover.”

“Nikko loves it here, Ashley is so attentive and loving my boy loves her home and family. She makes leaving my fur baby much easier when we have to ! We have used her twice now and wouldn’t send him anywhere else!”

“Georgia was absolutely incredible. My dogs were very well taken care of, I got "pup dates" daily. She is so sweet and punctual, very mindful of your fur babies. I couldn't thank her enough for everything she did for my family this week. We will be using her again in the future.”

“Candace was a great sitter! Her parents were helpful as well. Cassie was in good hands and was well taken care of. We were so thankful they accommodated us picking up Cassie after our evening flight.”

“Marah took excellent care of our pup, Stella! She sent pics throughout her stay and was very responsive and accommodating. We have already booked another stay with her! Highly recommend this sitter :)”

“McKenanne was absolutely amazing with our dog, Peaches! She sent the cutest pics and video during her stay and it was clear that Peaches was having a blast! I’d recommend her to anyone that’s looking for a kind and reliable dog sitter.”

“Lawdy was available for a last minute booking, communicative throughout, and my nervous puppy was very calm when I came to pick her up. I’ll definitely be booking with her in the future!”

“David Is calm and caring and took great care of Watson. I don’t often leave Watson but when I do he usually comes home unnerved. That was not the case this time. Thank you!”

“So happy to have found Cate! I had reached out a week before our trip and was so glad to meet her and show her around prior to us leaving. Our two cats are not friendliest and rarely let others pet them but my heart sang when Cate showed pictures a few days in that the girls had warmed up and actually let her pet them! That’s a big win for us! Thank you Cate for taking such great care of them! My husband and I feel totally safe with the cats in Cates care and will definitely reach out again on upcoming trips!”

“Nidia was incredible!!! She went above and beyond to take care of my dogs. I didnt worry for a second while I was gone about them because of her communication, kindness, and thoroughness. Highly recommend Nidia!!!! The dogs loved her!”

About: I've connected with dogs since I was a child, as well as rehabilitated rescues and trained puppies. Every dog is special to me, and I have cared for senior and special needs pups. My most beloved dog was a black German Shepherd that I trained when I was 13. Even still, my mom shakes her head at how I'm especially drawn to big dogs that look "scary." I can't wait to meet your baby! Need extra support in your morning or evening? I am available with plenty of love to share. My weekdays allow me to spend time with your floofs in the morning and late afternoon/evening. Your pups will have plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and affection with me! Safety in your home and for your dog is my top priority. I will spend time getting to know your dog, and will make sure they get everything they need as you see fit: water, food, petting, snacks, play with toys, movement/walking, you name it! I will respect your home and leave everything as I find it.

Her communication is EXCEPTIONAL! Trying to find someone who is genuinely caring and conscientious who loves animals? Look no further! I would recommend Jess to anyone in need of assistance with your pets.”

“Mandy is so fantastic! She is reliable, highly communicative, and diligent in doing everything needed for our pets. She has been flexible with our family when issues have come up that change our plans. She's the best and I'd recommend her to anyone I know!”

“I would give her 20 stars if I could!! I was in an emergency situation and needed help fast. She was at my house in 10 minutes!! I could not have asked for better care of my cats. She sent pictures and updates. I did not worry about them. She allowed me to come and visit also. My fur babies were played with and not stuck in a cage like at other boarding places. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again if needed. BEST CARE EVER!!!”

“Great Job!!! Happy to come home and not have the house a mess as it has been from previous sitters. While she never saw my cat (she's very skittish around strangers), Adrienne did a fantastic job of keeping in touch with us while on vacation.”

We are very grateful to find someone we can trust to watch our baby (Gamora🐶).”

“Penny and Evan were great with our little “high anxiety” fur baby. During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”

About: I've had a 91 lb labradoodle from puppy to now for about 4 years. I've also been told that my cat adopted me about 1.5 years ago. My dog is a happy go lucky guy who's never met a person or animal he didn't like. My cat is about 15 years old and requires injectable medication twice a day, so nothing scares me when it comes to medication. I've taken care of the odd African Grey Parrot from time to time as well. I take my dog out every morning, lunch time and several times in the evening for walks and play. Our cat needs medicine twice a day that requires an injection so I'm well versed in providing medication and taking care of animals with special needs. There's a giant pop up blocking what this field is meant to say but it's saying I have to fill it in, perhaps I can update it later when the pop up is gone.

“Gussie did a wonderful job taking care of Simba, our geriatric Lionhead bunny. She was on time, followed instructions and was excellent in helping us during a stressful time.”

“Zoe was great! She was always on-schedule and was very patient with my weird little girl. She does things like hiding when it's time to go out and then pulling a LOT once you finally get her out. But Zoe never complained and always hung around with the baby for a few minutes of love and play after the walk. My schedule has changed and no longer need a dog-walker, but if I ever need one again, will definitely look for her!”

“Jessika is wonderful! She genuinely loves my dog and he is always excited to see her. I always get lots of pictures and details. Even though it’s just a 30 minute walk, I appreciate the extra effort. Would absolutely recommend!”

“She went out of her way to let me know that my dog would not go for a walk. She notified me to let me know because she was worried that something might be wrong. Turns out that it was around the Fourth of July. My dog has simply been spooked by the fireworks. She was reassured, and happily offered to play with her in her backyard. My sweet girl was delighted with the alternative playtime. I appreciate her a quick communication and concern for my darling.”

Professionally, I have worked at a dog kennel where I was responsible for feeding, bathing, and supervising dogs in group play settings while ensuring safety and appropriate behavior. I also worked as a bather at a pet store, where I gained experience handling dogs during grooming-related services and maintaining their comfort throughout the process. I take pride in providing reliable, attentive care and treating every pet as if they were my own. I'm currently an aspiring Graphic Designer who just graduated from JMU. I am back home in the area for a while and looking to gain some clients while I’m there. I am willing to travel to your home to dog sit and give your dog the best care that I can while your gone. By taking your dog to potty, feeding and giving extra love.

About: Why hello there! The Hallie guarantee is as follows: I will give your pet the care, love, and fun that I would give my own. I recognize the stress that comes with trusting a stranger with your pets, and I am committed to providing comfort for both you and your pet. I’ve been taking care of animals since I can remember and have experience with numerous breeds and energy levels. I work from home Mon-Thurs until 3pm but can be available for a lunchtime walk. I’m available all day Fri-Sun. I’m familiar with the requirements of constant attention to pets. I’m on call 24/7 for my 2 year old German shepherd, Mellie. She’s a lovely, amazing high energy working dog with a hefty owner’s manual. I’m used to my schedule accommodating the highs and lows of pet care. I get how dogs can feel about a stranger in their home, and same for their owners. I’ll follow whatever house rules you’ve got, and respect your dog’s personal space. I’m working to fully understand dog body language & stress indicators, and how to adapt my own behavior appropriately. I don’t offer boarding services at my home - my dog isn’t dog-friendly. I don’t offer overnight housesitting either - I prefer not to leave my dog overnight unless I can find a sitter for her.

Thank you!”
“Katie updated me daily with photos and details on how my boy was doing. She was very responsive and flexible with pick up and drop off times. She was great! I highly recommend!”

About: I began volunteering at my local animal shelter at the age of 9 and have been caring for animals ever since. I have 20 years experience pet sitting for neighbors and I have my own 6 year old pitbull, Cleo, so I’m no stranger to energetic dogs. I’m a teacher, so my summers give me full flexibility to care for your animals! I love to walk dogs on local greenways and trails. SCHOOL YEAR UPDATE: I’m still happy to provide boarding, walking, and drop in visits outside of school hours. I am unable to be home or care for pets from 7am-3pm each day. If your dog can be left for 8 hours, boarding continues to be available during the school year. I have a fenced in backyard where your dog can play. If they like to play with a buddy, my dog will be their best friend!
