“This was my first time using Rover so I was a little nervous, but Rio was wonderful. Great communication and cute photos of my 13 year old Shih Tzu. No complaints. Will definitely request Rio in the future!”

“Dennis has done a great job winning the trust of my dogs. They are not used to strangers and he was so patient to build a good relationship. It is such a relief to be away and know they are getting a good walk in. I’m very grateful to have found Dennis on Rover.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats for quite sometime and even have experience with giving dogs pills as well. I’m willing to not only stay and house sit but ensure the animals have a good time. I work part time and have a lot of gaps in my day for side jobs. I live an active lifestyle so there’s no such thing as too many walks or too much playing! I make sure water is full all the time and food arrives on time with no fuss. I can easily pick up after any animals ensuring a clean lawn as well as a clean home. No pet goes unloved!

“I am so grateful for Carolyn! She answered me so fast with a last minute booking and was here in less than 20 minutes! She was so accommodating and sweet! I would highly recommend!”

About: I always insure that pets are comfortable! I’ve taken care of old cats and dogs, and I when they are old like that it’s important to meet their needs first, as most of the time they need a lot of guidance and help. I am currently going into online college, so most of my day is free! I often sit down and watch TV or play video games, but I mostly enjoy writing and drawing in my free time I personally like to ask owners how there pets are in the company of others, as well as if any weather bugs them! The comfort of my pets, and owners is always my number 1 priority! I want to make sure that they are comfortable around me, and I never approach any animal until I’ve let them sniff me, it’s important that they trust me to be around them.
“Kate was awesome and kept me up to date on everything as she took my Siberian Husky for a walk. He tends to pull on a leash and even saw some deer while Kate was walking him and she kept control and had a nice walk with him. I will be using Kate plenty of times for walks in the future. You should to!”

About: I have taken care of all sorts of dogs through the years and find joy in going for walks around the neighborhood and playing and meeting every single dog I see. I work full time, 3 12 hour shifts a week and my other 4 days I love having something to do whether that is going on walks, popping in to make sure dogs have everything they need and having potty breaks. During drop ins or walks I like to follow the owners instructions carefully so that each pet can maintain their normal routines and reduce stress. I make sure each pet has water, any food they need, toys if able, exercise, and attention. With walks I stay very mindful of potential dangers or triggers to avoid any unwanted situations and pay attention to any sins of overheating, exhaustion or discomfort. During drop ins if a pet uses a crate I always make sure it’s locked and checked before leaving as well as leaving the surrounding how I arrived and with locked doors. It’s always fun to send the owner updates and pictures of their pet while away to ensure they are safe and getting the care they need.

“Using Rover for the first time and my current schedule calls for last minute scheduling- Angela has been an incredible help accommodating this. We so appreciate Angela and her wonderful care!”

About: Hi there! My name is Karen K. I am a born and raised Missouri citizen. I have grown up around dogs my entire life and would love to help take care of your furry best friends! I am good with any size dog or cat with any type of special needs situation. I want to be of as much help as I can possibly be so don't be afraid to make any requests or suggestions. I am an Opera Singer, and love having flexibility for the opportunity to take care of animals in addition to my career. Animals have a huge place in my heart, and I can't wait to get to know yours! Please check out my profile and feel free to contact me for any information you need! I'm an Opera Singer primarily, so I do contract work as it comes. I have a day job that I keep in between contracts but I have a schedule that is fairy flexible and adaptive for your needs in both pet and house sitting! I am available during the week to take your pet for walks, bathroom breaks, or belly rub sessions as needed. I am also open to caring for your pets on the weekend! I am an open book, so don't be afraid to offer any suggestions or requests in order for me to provide the best service possible! I am more than happy to set up a meet and greet before caring for your pets and(or) home. It is my top priority to make you and your pet(s) feel comfortable whilst leaving things in my care. Pets are some of our most important family members, and I don't take that responsibility lightly!

About: I’ve grown up with animals since I was five and have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs. I’ve helped raise three puppies, so I’m comfortable with training basics, routines, and high-energy care, as well as providing gentle, attentive care for older dogs. I truly love animals and treat every pet like my own. I play volleyball at The university of Central Missouri - down in Warrensburg I have lots of free time to help take care of your babies! Whenever I’m home from break, in KC, I have loads of free time and would love to take care of your pets! I have experience with crating animals, grooming, feeding medicines, etc. I love to walk dogs and get exercise with them! I am comfortable spending the night at others homes and bringing dogs to my house if needed! I do have three dogs and one cat right now!
About: I have been in the animal field since I was 16, completing a veterinary assistant program during high school. During Covid, I helped my aunt foster 3 rescue beagles as well as caring for her other two dogs. Since then, I have worked at multiple doggy daycare and boarding facilities and have pets of my own! I work 6am to 6pm every Tuesday-Friday so ideally, I’d need flexibility on drop-in visits for those days, but I have open availability on the weekends + Monday I am currently only providing drop-in visits which means your pet/s will stay in the comfort and safety of their own home. I always do meet n greets where the pet will be staying.
About: I've taken care of cats and dogs since I was young. In middle school my mom started my cat obsession (bathe, feed, cuddles of course, changing litter box, administer medicine) and although I still love them, dogs definitely tend to be more theatrical. : ) I have lots of patience for pups and stubborn older dogs (let's be honest, we can all be a little stubborn) (feeding, walks, baths, administering medicine, belly rubs) I have a theatrical dog named Owen (sometimes I think he was an actor in his past life) to keep your pups company throughout the day. I currently work from home full-time and have a flexible schedule. I'm able to take dog park/walking breaks, or check-in on your pets when needed. My apartment has a long walking trail (we walk in the morning and evening) and a dog park that we go to twice a day as well. *My apartment does not have any breed restrictions, I understand that some breeds get bad reps, but I was raised with a pitbull that is truly a teddy bear.* When dropping in on pets I like to ask lots of questions at first, because I want to make sure the care is consistent to their daily routine.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
