“Chuck was wonderful! It was our first time using a dog walker since we got our puppy. Chuck volunteered to come and meet our dog prior to his first drop-in free of charge which was wonderful for the dog and his parents! :) We will be using him again in the future 100%!”

About: I am very good with dogs & cats, having had them my whole life. I like taking walks/runs with dogs. I will always make sure they have a good time! I work full time M-F 8:30-5, but do not live far from work. I am free on nights & weekends. I can do anything from short term to long term. I do not currently have a fenced yard, but will be moving soon to where there is a large fenced yard. I will walk your dogs daily around the neighborhood. I do not currently have an animal & live alone.
“Mary is amazing! First time working together snd meeting pups. It was like a 3 ring circus here with the dogs on special diets and the lust of medications they were currently taking. She could have easily run in opposite direction but took us and the girls on last week with a calming presence, grace and humor. She went above and beyond taking great care of the dogs and even meeting chimney service because we had a squirrel squatter. We couldn’t have gotten thru last werk without Mary. After a very long day and travel delays we got home to the most thoughtful letter and surprise. We are so happy and blessed to have met Mary. She treated everyone and everything with care, love and respect. Book now…Mary is awesome! Forever grateful!”

“Brittnee was absolutely amazing and took wonderful care of our two cats while we were gone. She was responsible, dependable, and very attentive to our animals and their needs. We received frequent updates on their care and she gave us peace of mind leaving our cats in her keeping. We will definitely be booking Brittnee again for any of our future trips! She’s the best!”

About: I have been surrounded by animals my entire life and have years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. My father has owned and operated a dog training/boarding business for over 14 years, and I grew up helping him with the daily care and responsibilities that come with working with dogs. I currently work part time as a kennel technician at Hickory Small Animal Hospital in Ponchatoula, where I help care for pets staying in the boarding facility. This experience has made me comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, routines, and individual needs. I also have extensive experience with horses and regularly help care for horses and assist with barn responsibilities for several owners. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pets. I strive to provide dependable, attentive, and loving care while making sure every animal feels safe and comfortable while their owner is away. I am a college student with a flexible schedule, which allows me to make pet care a priority. I also work part time, but I am able to plan my schedule around bookings and make sure each pet gets the time, attention, and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I have a fenced in yard where dogs can safely play and get plenty of outside time. I also have a friendly dog of my own who can provide some company and playtime! I am always happy to follow each owner’s preferences and routines to make sure their pet feels as comfortable and at home as possible.

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs and understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and the same attention I’d give my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company, my goal is to provide dependable care and peace of mind for every family I work with. I work a full-time job 7am to 5pm 4 days a week. I am available three days out of the week and also Anytime from 5:30 PM till 5 AM 6 days a week and all day Sunday. I have a fenced in yard and also have my fur baby at home who is well taken care of he’s more like a human than anything. I can also board your fur babies and also stay in your house overnight as needed.
“Ellie did such an amazing job caring for our babies while we were away including outstanding communication with messages and pictures each time she visited —it meant so much!! This was our first time having someone care for them at home and she made us feel very comfortable and it was just an overall great experience. We will definitely be calling on Ellie again in the future.”

“The sweetest sitter! She came at the last minute for a drop in visit for my two large dogs, and tended to them very nicely! I really appreciate her responsiveness and attentiveness. Thanks again!”

About: As a kid and young adult I gained a lot of experience pet sitting for family, friends, and coworkers. Since then, I have gained valuable experience working as a kennel technician at Crossroads Animal Hospital where I not only learned how to care for many animals at once, but also the patience needed to work with scared animals, medicine administration, and how to monitor animal health. I have experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, personalities. I can help with training for young pets although I am not a registered trainer. I am currently working for myself selling plants and crochet at farmer's markets which means I can easily work your needs into my schedule. I may have limited morning availability during weekends I go to farmer's markets but I am also flexible to move this around in order to accommodate! I am accustomed to caring for 10+ animals that all have different food and medical needs as well as experience taking care of chickens, plants, cats, and dogs simultaneously. Because of this experience with many animals, small details are crucial to me. I will ensure that everything you ask is completed as well as watching your pets for any signs of changes in health such as unusual eating or bathroom habits. I take animal care very seriously and will ensure you always have the information you need to build trust and peace of mind.
“Loralei took good care of my two senior dogs for an extended weekend. She followed the detailed instructions I left and kept me updated after each visit. It was my first-time using a dogsitter who wasn’t a friend or family. So I really appreciated how friendly and patient Loralei was with both me and the dogs. I will definitely reach out to her if I need a dogsitter in the future.”

“Liv did a great job with our dog Tallulah, who has a lot of energy. She took her for long walks and runs and was very patient with her. Liv was also great at communicating with us during the day so we knew when she was at the house, etc. I highly recommend Liv!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hammond
Brenley did an amazing job taking care of my cat, Razor. He truly went above and beyond during every visit. He carefully followed Razor’s feeding routine, washed and refilled his food and water bowls, cleaned and refreshed the litter box, and even vacuumed around the apartment when Razor made a mess. The way he kept everything clean and comfortable for Razor was remarkable. Razor is shy around strangers, but Brenley was very patient with him. He spent time sitting nearby, talking to him, offering toys, and giving him space to become comfortable at his own pace. He also sent detailed updates and plenty of photos after each visit, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciate the care and attention Brenley gave Razor. I will definitely try to book him again in the future whenever I need to leave my cat at home while traveling. Highly recommended!

Brittnee was absolutely amazing and took wonderful care of our two cats while we were gone. She was responsible, dependable, and very attentive to our animals and their needs. We received frequent updates on their care and she gave us peace of mind leaving our cats in her keeping. We will definitely be booking Brittnee again for any of our future trips! She’s the best!

Darcy is amazing! She traveled 30 minutes to do a last minute meet and greet and then drove back up here on Monday. It was a huge relief knowing our babies were being well taken care of on the worst day of my life…. My husbands funeral. She came and fed them dinner, washed their bowls (I expected them to be in the sink - but that extra touch was so special), made sure they all went potty and back inside. It’s always a little scary letting someone you don’t know come in and take care of pets but she is 1000% trustworthy and my crew loved her! It’s a comfort knowing I now have someone that I can call on to help when needed.

We generally don’t need this service often but Chuck showed up and was able to relax and bond with our 100lb GS. Thank you Chuck for helping us out and being an absolute professional. I actually think our boy misses you. We’ll be reaching out to you and this service more often.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
