About: I’m a background-checked veteran and experienced pet sitter who truly enjoys caring for animals. As a service dog handler, I pay close attention to routines, body language, and safety, so your pet is always in good hands. I’m comfortable with all kinds of dogs; puppies, high-energy pups, anxious dogs, and seniors who need a slower, more gentle approach. I do my best to keep their routine as close to home as possible so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. Your dog will get plenty of attention, structured walks, and a calm, clean environment. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can relax knowing exactly how they’re doing. My goal is simple: a happy, well-cared-for pet and total peace of mind for you. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate morning, midday, evening, and weekend visits. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I plan my day around the animals I’m responsible for. I focus on reliable, punctual service and consistent routines so your pet gets calm, structured care every visit. I provide calm, structured, and attentive care in both my home and my clients’ homes. As a background-checked veteran and service dog handler, I prioritize safety, routine, and clear communication. I follow all feeding, walking, and medication instructions closely, keep doors and gates secure, and monitor pets for any changes in behavior. You’ll receive daily photo updates and messages so you always know your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

About: Recently retired teacher with a flexible schedule available to care for your furry family members while you travel or work. I’ve always been a huge animal lover and treat pets as family members. ( I also have a passion for pet photography.) I believe in regular communication throughout the day so that you can relax knowing your pets are safe and happy (I’ve been there and know how important that is!) ❤️ I’ve taken care of aging pets and know how to administer medication if needed. (As you can see from my photos, I LOVE taking pictures of your pet and sharing them with you! ). Edit: My husband recently retired so he is home and loves our furry visitors as much as I do! I’m retired and home every day so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets! My husband is also home in the evenings to help if needed. While I’m new to Rover, I am not new to pet care! I will also provide you with an edited digital photo of your pet as a keepsake!❤️ I have a fenced-in yard with plenty of room to run and play. Your pet will never be left unattended and will be given lots of love and attention. We have a laid back approach in our home and your pup will not be crated unless you request it. 🐾

About: I have always had animals in my life. I know each one is different and special. I grew up on a farm so I know having a loving and compassionate person to care for your babies is a necessity when you have animals. I am a stay at home mom so while the kids are at school I have plenty of time to come by and play with your babies. I have a fenced in courtyard area in my home. We also have two dogs that love other dogs. One is a rescue Maltese and is 12 years old. The other is a 2 year old poodle, he is my husband's service dog so usually he is at work with my husband all day.

About: I just love dogs. I have rescued and fostered for years. I can't wait to meet your pup and take good care of your baby. I'm currently home full time and am available to board or they are welcome for just the day. I am flexible and am confident your pup will be happy in my home. You will get updates as you wish I have a fifteen year old yorkie who is sweet with everyone and all dogs. I don't have a fenced yard but we are very active and will go on many walks on my twelve-acre property.

Lola, Charlie, and Hamilton all did excellent! The house is super cute and clean, they provided an extra kennel, they were flexible with our drop off and pick up time, and were so friendly and so great and caring with our pups. We appreciate it! Next time we come back to Louisiana we will use again!

About: I love dogs! I have 1 very spolied dog, King. He's a4 year old boxer that gives an impression that he'll eat you for lunch, but he's the biggest sweetheart!! I spoil and love on him every chance I can. He'll never want for anything, except more kisses! I want to share that love with other dogs in my spare time. I have a lot of love to go around. Your fur baby will go on walks and updates will be left for you to view upon your return! I am a very honest and reliable individual. I am punctual probably to a fault. Dont want me feed treats to your furry friend? I will never do what I am told not to. You can trust me and you'll be recommending me to your friends!! King usually sleeps all day, but I make sure he goes out and runs around several times a day. I go on long walks, but he had a very expensive surgery and I don't think he can take long walks. Whether I'm caring for a pet in my home or a client's home, all rules will be followed. My primary reason for being on Rover and caring for dogs is to make sure that nothing is missed while the hoomans are away!

About: Hey y’all, I’m Holly! I’m a full-time dog sitter, boarding host, and obedience trainer living the farm life just outside the city. About 15 years ago, I traded the hustle and bustle for more space, privacy, and a dog-centered lifestyle—and now my partner Isaac and I have built our home around exactly that. We offer boarding and daytime playgroups in a secure, home-based setting with the amenities you’d expect from a large boarding facility, but with the comfort, attention, and personal care of a private home. Our farmhouse sits on a securely fenced acre, giving dogs room to safely play, explore, decompress, and enjoy their stay. Dogs are truly life here. In addition to boarding and training, I serve as the Program Director of a New Orleans-based dog rescue specializing in high-medical-need dogs. Because of that, I’m very comfortable administering medications, injections, fluids, specialty diets, and handling dogs who need extra patience or experience. I also have trusted veterinarians on speed dial should anything urgent ever come up. I have extensive experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities—from feral strays and high-drive working breeds to seniors, puppies, tiny Poodles, nervous dogs, and everything in between. Baths, light grooming, crate routines, structured play, and special care instructions are all no problem. Basic obedience training packages are also available for dogs who could use a little extra polish during their stay. You're welcome and encouraged to take a look at our reviews - we pride ourselves on giving stellar care! If you’re looking for a safe, experienced, dog-savvy home where your pup will be treated like one of our own, we’d love to welcome them! I board dogs professionally from my home, so caring for them is part of my everyday routine — not something I squeeze in around another job. During the day, I run supervised playgroups in our secure yard and rotate dogs based on size, age, energy level, and personality. High-energy dogs get room to play, seniors get a calmer pace, and shy or sensitive dogs are given time to settle in comfortably. Everyone receives structured playtime, potty breaks, meals, treats, rest time, and plenty of individual attention throughout the day. Our farmhouse sits on 3.5 securely fenced acres, tucked away from busy streets and set up with dogs in mind. This is a dog-centered home with plenty of space, toys, enrichment, and safe areas for both play and rest. Dogs are always supervised and thoughtfully matched with appropriate playmates. I take introductions, group dynamics, feeding routines, medications, and individual needs seriously so every dog can feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during their stay.

About: I’ve always had dogs and cats, the occasional hamster, growing up. I love animals! I’m from the south and have come across all types of puppies (including gator pups) I have no problems in gaining new friends :) I am currently free lancing in artistic endeavors and having a friendly pet would help with the time I’m at home needing a little company and a less… talkative version than human conversation! I love animals and have experience with all types! (I’m from Louisiana so I mean ALL types) including the senior doggies ;) I have a closed in front patio with a little nature-esque ground for quick potty breaks and just to sunbathe when the need arises. I take walks often and live in a neighbor hood away from a busy strip so I can keep pets safe and exercised!

About: I have enjoyed watching fur babies for friends and family when they needed a little alone time! I once watched a hedgehog and my sister came home to 7 of them (she didn’t know she was pregnant) lol. I’m currently a stay at home Grammy, and I homeschool 2 of my grandkids. I have a golden doodle and shorkie inside my home! I recently moved to Ponchatoula, so I also have a lab and lab/Great Pyrenees mix that stay outside only because they use to be farm dogs and never really wanted to come inside. I plan to watch your dog inside my home and I have a doggie door that leads outside into a fenced in area to get some sun or shade!

Your pet’s health, safety, and happiness are always my top priorities. I have three friendly fur babies of my own at home who love making new friends. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and providing them with the love and care they deserve! 💕 Pet care is a natural part of my daily life—it’s something I’ve built my schedule around for years. Whether it’s morning walks, mealtime routines, training sessions, or evening playtime, caring for animals is second nature to me. Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hammond commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in LA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 127 sitters in Hammond, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
