Alexandria is great with our two very different dogs! Herbie is older and loud and Lola is young and energetic but quiet. Even in the current deep freeze she got them out for me (despite Herbie’s protests)! Thank you 😊

About: I have pets from cats to pugs to rottweilers so I'm very comfortable working with both small and bigger dogs! I've had pets my whole life, my family used to foster dogs so I've been caring for all kinds of dogs since I was a kid. I have done drop in's with friends and families pets while they were on vacation. I've worked with pets that take time to trust and can tell when a dog is uncomfortable and needs space/a break. I also have experience working with special foods/medications. Littles, seniors, and everything in between are welcome I've worked with them all in my personal life! I'm a full time university student trying to put myself through college! I'm home for the summer and my schedule is extremely flexible! I'm willing to work holidays. I'm able to follow owners' requests for their pet whether that be using command words, crating, feeding, playing, walking, litter boxes, light grooming. Any routines or training you have I'm more then willing to impliment them into my visit!

I can’t wait to meet your four-legged family members! 🐾 I work full time but love to hang with pets in my free time! Happy to assist on week nights or weekends. Willing to travel a little bit as well. I care for pets as if they are my own. Give them their own food, bed and safety - whether it be free roaming or in a crate. About: My husband & I grew up having both dogs & cats. Neither of us have professional experience. However, we have watched family members or neighbors pets on top of taking care of our own (2 y.o. Beagle & x2 7 y.o. cats) We both value talking to animals & providing them with whatever environment they prefer, be it more playtime, a shady quiet napping spot, or sun bathing. As most know cats can’t necessarily be trained but nevertheless ours are well behaved. They do have their claws but they have never scratched or bitten (unless playfully) anyone. Our beagle is also well behaved, albeit goofy, & trained with Whole Hearted peanut butter treats. We do still currently have a cage but it is very rare we use it, mostly from when she was a younger puppy. Our animals do fine around others. The cats have an escape to the basement with a gate so if they are crabby will go there. Our dog will sometimes make the classic beagle howl at first but is never a threat. I am home most of the time. We have a child under the age of 1 but she is generally excited by all dogs & cats. My schedule is flexible. If there is someone who would like to make long term arrangements that would be okay to discuss. We live in a neighborhood off a dirt road with a decent sized back yard. There is no fence. We put our dog on a chord if she is unattended but usually will also be outside. There are trails going all around the neighborhood that are perfect for dog walks. We have a farm behind our house that has 2 horses gated in. They are friendly & our dog will get excited if anything. There are multiple households in our neighborhood with dogs. Inside the house, dogs will have lots of choices when it comes to resting spots; sunny or more dark quiet spaces.

About: I love all animals! My family always had cats while I was growing up, so I am very comfortable taking care of them. My first dog was a lovely chocolate Lab; my current dog is a spirited English Pointer named Mellow. Whenever friends and family need someone to care for their pets when they travel, I am the person they ask for help. Any animal under my care is treated with the same love and attention as my own pets. I am very reliable as well. I have been teaching for 20 years at the same school district. I bring the same patience I show my students to any pet situation. I love to take walks or hikes with dogs, so your pup will not miss out on daily exercise. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! As a child-free teacher, I am very available during the summer months to meet your vacation and travel pet needs. I am available for the daily or weekly care that your pets needs while you are away. I follow a strict leash policy with my own dog, and I follow this protocol with any dog under my care. A leashed dog is a safe dog!

About: I’ve been around fur babies my entire life, caring for pups of all ages, sizes, and personalities. From energetic puppies to gentle seniors, I’m comfortable using the intuitive understanding of their needs and behaviors that I have gained throughout my years to adapt my care to match each dog’s unique temperament and routine. I’ve also spent time caring for senior pets for family members, so I understand the extra patience, attentiveness, and gentleness they require, whether that means maintaining routines, supporting mobility, or offering calm companionship. On top of that, I’ve raised and cared for my own stubborn shih tzu, which taught me a lot about patience and how to handle strong-willed dogs with both structure and love. What sets my care apart from most, I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach, I focus on truly knowing each pet as if they were my own: learning their personality, respecting their routine, and creating a safe, stress-free environment where they feel secure and loved. Clients can expect reliable communication, updates, and the peace of mind that their pet is not just being watched but cared for. As a college student home for the summer, pet care fits seamlessly into a very open and flexible schedule. With ample availability throughout the day and week, there is plenty of time to provide attentive, consistent care. This flexibility allows for adapting to each pet’s routine and ensuring they receive the time and attention they deserve. Creating a comfortable and trustworthy environment is always the top priority. Care is tailored to each pet’s routine to keep things familiar and stress-free, with close attention to feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any specific instructions provided. Walks are always done with safety in mind, using secure leashing and awareness of surroundings. In a client’s home, respect for both the space and the pet’s comfort is key: keeping things clean, calm, and consistent while maintaining open communication. The goal is to ensure every pet feels secure, cared for, and happy, while giving owners absolute peace of mind.

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
