I start and end each day feeding, walking, and spending time with my two dogs, two cats, and bearded dragon. I’m currently between jobs and primarily spending time on job searches and interviews, I have plenty of flexibility to provide other pets with the same attentive care and structure. From everything to walks, drop-ins, tug of war with their favorite toy, or overnight stays, animal care already fits seamlessly into my daily life. When boarding pets in my home, safety and comfort always come first. I take a slow, structured approach to introductions, using crates, baby gates, and my fenced-in yard to ensure each pet feels secure and never cornered or overwhelmed. I would never introduce animals in an environment that could make them feel threatened. Before a stay, I always discuss each pet’s comfort level, social tendencies, and triggers with their owner to ensure the best possible setup. My two dogs and two cats are friendly, calm, and non-reactive. They’ve even been used for temperament testing with foster dogs, so they’re excellent at helping new pets feel at ease. I maintain consistent communication throughout the stay, sharing updates, photos, and notes so owners feel confident their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on respecting routines and the pet’s familiar environment. I never bring my own animals with me, and I take time before each booking to fully understand the pet’s needs and habits. I ask detailed questions about: -Feeding routines and food sensitivities - Toy and treat preferences - Leash manners and reactivity - Reactions to other dogs or people - Areas of the home to avoid (e.g., small objects, medications) - Emergency contacts, veterinarian information, and allergies This helps me tailor care to each pet’s comfort and safety. I’ve also completed a course in cat and dog Heimlich maneuvers, giving me the confidence to respond quickly in case of emergency. My goal is always to ensure pets feel safe, loved, and well understood while maintaining open communication with their owners.
