“Cory has great communication and both our dogs enjoyed walking with him. Our puppy had boundless energy and Cory met it with enthusiasm and patience!”

“Jessica is so kind, fun, and clearly is meant to be around animals in one way or another. My boys were THRILLED to see her every morning. She was helping me out as I’m dealing with cancer - her flexibility and understanding nature helped me trust her in my home and with my boys. Book her!”

“He is an excellent young man that does very well with my two large dogs and that is saying something! They can be very hard to handle! Highly recommend him! Very polite and professional as well!”

About: I am an experienced pet sitter with both personal and professional experience with animals of all species, temperaments, age, and health status. I have multiple years of experience in both emergency and general practice clinics and am thus confident in my ability to handle pets, distribute medication as needed, and recognize and respond to emergencies. Any animal in my care will be treated as my baby! ❤️ As a veterinary student, my schedule offers flexibility due to lunch breaks and large gaps between classes. I would love to share my daily study-break walks with your furry friend or spend the weekend with a study buddy while you’re away. I am unable to have a dog of my own right now and would be absolutely THRILLED to spend time with yours! My priority is always the animal’s safety and comfort. Whether that means showering your pet with lots of love or respecting their personal space, my goal is to provide your pet with a positive experience in my care.

“Ash was spectacular with our dogs! Walks were exactly when requested, dogs were treated great and looked soo happy! Definitely rebooking for my next trip out of town!”

“Hotdog Troy is an absolute sweetheart with animals! I am trying to help my Australian Cattle Dog, Nala, who is a skittish ARL rescue, become more comfortable around males and new surroundings. Troy was very patient and first conducted a meet and greet with a hotdog. The next day, Nala opened up and was able to walk comfortably with Troy. He gives the best updates, including photos. Highly recommend!”

“Hanna is really great with dogs and really friendly<3”

“My dog loved the walk ! Wore her out ! Thank you!!”

About: Hi there! I’m a full-time professional based in Des Moines with a big heart for animals—especially dogs. I share my life with a lovable poodle who’s full of energy and joy. We spend a lot of time going on walks and playing fetch, so I understand the importance of keeping dogs active, happy, and loved. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether it’s a walk, some playtime, or just good company, I’ll make sure your dog is well cared for and treated like family. I’m reliable, caring, and always ready to give pets the attention they deserve. I’d love the chance to care for your furry friend! I currently work full time in Des Moines at a retirement home. I am usually pretty flexible with my schedule and can fit anything in. I have one dog who enjoys going on walks as well as runs with me every day. He loves playing fetch and loves chasing after birds.

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time.between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. I have 3 dogs of my own, all of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. I don't work a regular job, I care for my elderly father and do some side work here and there. So I am available for walking or drop in visits at a moments notice. I have a fenced in yard and food and treats at the ready. Many leashes and brushes and more. I have 3 dogs of my own that love to play with each other and yours too. I can also keep my dogs away if yours isn't socialized to others.

About: We lost our beloved dog "Chester" in 2022 and our home has felt empty ever since. Both my husband & I have grown up with dogs & we loved playing, walking and cuddling w/Chester. The unconditional love he provided to our family was priceless. My husband & I are empty nesters as of last fall, 2023 & we are available to care and watch your dog on a weekday or weekend.. Your dog will be loved in our home as much as it is in your home. We will thoroughly enjoy spoiling it like it is our own pet! We live downtown Des Moines & will be able to walk your dog regularly to near by parks/Grays Lake. I like to know what the sleep/feeding schedule of your dog is, as well as any tricks they know, the time between bathroom breaks, and how the interact with other dogs.

“Thank you so much!!”

About: Hi, I'm Jess — a lifelong animal lover with a soft spot for the quirky, anxious, and cuddle-prone pets out there. Since moving to Des Moines in 2021 with my partner and our two rescue cats, Zelda and Juno, I’ve had the joy of fostering animals through Furry Friends Refuge and eventually adopting my “foster fail,” Theo — a resilient orange tabby who’s taught me more about patience, administering medication, and cooperative care than I ever imagined! What I do for you: I offer drop-ins, walks, and house sitting for dogs, cats, and most small animals (yes, even fish and reptiles). Whether your dog needs a midday adventure, your cat wants someone to chat with, or your lizard just needs the lights turned on at the right time — I’ve got it covered. Whether I’m doing drop-ins, house sitting, or dog walking, my focus is simple: I want your pets to feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I take your routine seriously, whether that means no dogs on the couch — or mandatory couch cuddles. You tell me what works for your pet, and I’ll stick to it. Why you'll like me: With years of experience across species and a deep respect for pet parent routines, my top priority is to keep your pets happy, safe, and stress-free. I treat them like family — and yes, I will send you photos that make your pet look like they’re modeling for a magazine. Let me know your rules, routines, and what makes your companion special — I’d love to meet them! ********** Since I’m new to Rover but not new to pet care, I’ve lowered my rates to help build reviews — let me know if you have any questions! I have a very open schedule and I thrive on chaos. I am also constantly updating my calender so you can trust my shown availability. Safety: I will treat your pet with the dignity, care, and enthusiasm that they deserve. I strive to provide a safe environment and a uniquely tailored experience. If you are a first time client, I will require you to answer a quick questionnaire to help me better understand the needs of you and your pet/s.

“Andrea is our go-to dog sitter and worth every penny. Our dog takes medication, is now deaf and sometimes goes on walks. Andrea is amazing, sends pictures all the time and makes our vacations relaxing because I don’t have to worry about any issues at home.”

About: I'm excited to be there for your pet in whatever way you need. I have been pet and house sitting for years and will watch your animals with care 💕 I work downtown from 8:30 to 5 but I have flexibility when I take my lunch break. On Fridays, I have the option to work remote. I can beat assist with pet care before or after work and on weekends. I am able to do walks and check inside around the lunch hour. I can't offer to host pets at my home, but I'm happy to follow whatever guidelines clients set. I want to make sure your pets are comfortable and well cared for.

“Our corgi Millie loves when Molly comes to let her out! I always know Millie will be well taken care or. Molly is extremely accommodating to schedule changes and when we were out of town and was locked out of the house was willing to still come back and let Millie out!”

About: I have experience walking dogs from puppies to those enjoying their golden years who need a little extra care! I can go whatever speed and length best fits the pet in my care. I currently am working from home so I have plenty of time to drop in and take your pup for a walk around the block! I take care of every pet the exact way I would want someone to care for mine. I do everything I can to make each interaction as positive and fun as possible! I also know how hard it is to leave your furry friend in the care of someone else. I am SO happy to provide as many photos or updates as would make you comfortable!

About: I have in the past been in charge of letting the dog out when parents are on vacation, I've grown up with dogs most of my life, and really miss having them as part of my life. I've always loved dogs, they're just wonderful, and I always treat them just as wonderfully. I am always up for a little exercising (ergo, walks) if your pup is up for it. I love all dogs, big or small. They're all wonderful in my eyes. Just beware, I might spoil them just a little ;). Can't wait to spend the day with your fur baby! It might just be their best day ever, too. I'm always up for walks, playtime in the backyard, chill time watching tv with them, whatever the preference, you can count on me to take good care of them.

“Lauren did a wonderful job taking care of my cat while I was out of town for a week. She made sure he had fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and she sat and gave him attention (and sent sweet pictures to me!!) everyday she was there. I know that my cat was in good hands with her!”

Darian B.
“Darian is my grandson. I've noticed over the course of his life, he's developed a strong love of animals, dogs in particular. Before he could drive, his parents would often ask him to let the dog out every night if they were gone. I would drive him up there to let the dog out, and he always took good care of her. Not just nova, he loves all dogs. I think it's safe to say he's a good bet for a dog sitter. He'll make sure the dogs are happy, even if it means his exhaustion.”
