“We have an 18 year old and a 13 year old cat. The older one is missing several teeth so can only eat shreds. The younger only eats dry food but wont touch it if its been out over an hour or two. We hadnt gone on vacation for several years because we didnt want to burden friends with multiple cat visits. Rover to the rescue! Steff's daily drop-ins gave us the peace if mind we needed. She took care of feeding, water, litter boxes, and even meds. She came every day easing the burden on friends. She sent daily updates including photos of our fur babies. We will definitely hire her again.”

“Sandy was great with my two dogs, she followed my notes to the T, followed up with text messages about each visit and pictures! I would highly recommend to anyone.”
“Jamey visited my newly adopted senior cat three times a day for three days. She fed her, gave her medications, cleaned her litter box and kept her company. It’s so comforting to know that I can enjoy my little vacations while my cat is well cared for back at home.”

About: I’m a retired professional with a calm, patient nature and a genuine love for animals. My sister has two dogs, one of whom is a super senior with special needs, so I’m very comfortable providing extra attention, patience, and thoughtful care. With a flexible schedule and plenty of time to devote to one-on-one care, I enjoy creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for dogs and cats. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, medication routines, or quiet companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own—offering reliable care and true peace of mind to pet parents. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. As a retired professional, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to plan my day around a pet’s needs rather than the other way around. I’m home for most of the day, which means plenty of time for walks, play, feeding, medication schedules, and quiet companionship. I enjoy building consistent routines that help pets feel secure and comfortable, and I’m able to give them my full attention without feeling rushed. This flexibility also allows me to adapt easily to senior pets or those with special needs who may require extra time, patience, or monitoring. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual routine, personality, and needs—whether in my home or in a client’s home. I follow all feeding schedules carefully, provide fresh water, regular walks or playtime, and plenty of attention and companionship. I’m especially attentive to senior and special-needs pets, including administering medications as directed and keeping a calm, consistent environment. In a client’s home, I respect their routines and space, making sure pets feel secure and comfortable in their familiar surroundings. I also keep pet parents updated with check-ins and notes so they can feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while they’re away.

“Joanne took care of our 3 pets during drop-in visits over a 3-day period. Joanne showed great care while feeding and interacting with Fiona (our 10 year old pit bull), Davlin (our 17 year old frail cat), as well as Moshie (our shy 13 year old cat). Joanne provided detailed information regarding her care for the individual needs of each of our pets during each visit. She also provided numerous photos of each animal while visiting. Prior to her drop-ins, Joanne came over for a Meet and Greet in order to go over details while visiting, as well as getting to meet our pets. In addition, Joanne kept us up to date with each interaction while visiting and any questions or concerns that she or we may have had during the visits. Without a doubt Joanne demonstrates a tremendous amount of care and professionalism in every aspect while working with us and caring for Fiona, Davlin and Moshie. I look forward to having Joanne care for our pets in the future, as well as highly recommend anyone who has a need for someone to care for their pets.”

About: For 15 years, I have loved and cared for my animals. I was lucky enough to receive excellent training for my shepherd/husky and incorporate the methods during interactions with other animals as well as my new puppy. I completely understand needing reliable care when away. Patience, exercise and attention work wonders!! I'm currently working remote on Thursdays and am able to fit walks in throughout the day as well as during weekends. A varied schedule is fine!! Ensuring the animal's environment is the same when I leave as when I arrive is necessary to prevent injury or any accident. My yard is completely fenced in and equipped to play and run!

“We needed a dog sitter for our two golden retrievers while our daughter was getting married. We chose Jess. Jess listened to all our requirements and assured us that Gracie and Remy would be cared for, played with and would be exhausted that day. She was right. We loved the pictures she sent us of them having a good time. In fact, although I came home early from the wedding, Jess pulled in right after me and the dogs went to her. We will definitely use Jess next time.”

“Highly recommend!! Samantha was professional, experienced and kind. She took extra loving care of our kitty Layla for an entire week while administering oral medications twice daily. I am forever grateful! Thank you!!”

“"Absolutely incredible experience! Hannah was everything we could have hoped for and more. Our 100-pound Newfoundland, Arto, absolutely adored them. They were reliable, professional, and managed Arto’s size and energy with ease. It’s not always easy to find someone who can handle such a large dog, but Hannah made it look effortless. They kept us updated with pictures and notes, and we could tell Arto was happy, well cared for, and having a great time. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Hannah again—highly recommend!"”

About: I have had dogs in my family since the day I was born. I am 24 years old, and I am currently raising a two-year-old and a three-year-old black lab. I have a love for animals like no other, and in the last two years, my family has had two puppies, along with our nine-year-old black lab. I am a licensed real estate agent and therefore have a flexible schedule in order to care for your pets during the week and possible weekends. I have a fenced and gated yard at my house. Along with that, I have collars and leashes that can be used for a walk or exercise in general. We also have a two-story house which gives lots of room for exploring and comfort.
About: I volunteer with the organization that I adopted my pup from! I not only process applications for the organization, but I actively “babysit” pups overnight (sometimes 3 days at a time) for their fosters who occasionally are away on the weekends. I have the most experience with puppies and young adults, but also have watched older pups of my family members. I hope to give your pup a nice boop on the nose :) I am a full-time teacher on summer break! With my current schedule, I am available Sat, Sun, Tues, Thursday & Fridays! I look forward to discussing your needs for your pet! I have a 1y/o pup who is crate trained, friendly and loves to play with other dogs. She is my best friend! I’ve taken care of my boyfriend’s dog as she’s recovered from two separate TPLO surgeries. I’ve potty-trained and crate trained other pups from the rescue I volunteer with as I personally feel that’s the best way to make myself and you assured of your pets safety. My pup and I frequent the complex park multiple times daily and love a good car ride. A brief note of needs for your pet will ensure I care for them exactly how you do!

As of June 2026, there are 89 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Great River. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
