“Shannon was amazing with our two cats and we will most definitely be rebooking with her in the future! She made a point to send regular pictures and photos and provide detailed updates everyday. Highly recommended Shannon especially if you’re on Grand Island!”

“Kaitlyn did a wonderful job for us taking care our our lab Betsy while we were on an all day tour of Niagara Falls. She was very professional, great communication and awesome with followup on the times we had specified our dog to be let out...Would absolutely use Kaitlyn again anytime we are back in the area.”
“Jenna was wonderful, she took notes when she came over to meet my kittens, she listened and provided great care while I was away. Her notes and pics put my mind at ease knowing they were well taken care of. Will book her again”

“Jacquelyn was the perfect cat sitter! She handled everything with my cats perfectly and kept me updated with pictures and a message after each visit. We will definitely turn to Jacquelyn again the next time we need someone to watch our cats.”

About: I have owned dogs all my life, and turned to fostering and dogsitting after college for shorter commitments. I have fostered over 15 dogs, including seniors, puppies, 70+ lb reactive dogs, and those needing medications. I have also catsit for friends and neighbors and cared for fish the last three years. I work from home so I'm able to be attentive to your pets, and I like to take 15 minute breaks to walk a few times a day. I have a puppy-proofed mudroom where we will hang out, and I live across the street from a bike path where I love to walk with a regular leash or long line.
About: I’ve taken care of a couple different dogs for around three to four years now doing basic care takings needs such as playing, walking, and feeding. I have also had a Shih tzu of my own for 3 years now. I work part time and I am a full time student. My summer schedule has classes and work several days of the week. I’m generally free most mornings and after 9pm on days I work. I let my dog walk around our home freely. However in our backyard I have a leash for him so he can walk around while not being able to run off! When I am dog watching when I am away I would crate the dog if im gone for several hours and let them roam if its for a short amount of time.
About: I don’t just watch pets, I care for them like they’re my own. My King Charles Cavalier Spaniel taught me how meaningful the bond between people and their pets can be, and it’s one of the reasons why I treat every animal with patience, affection, and individualized care. With years of experience, a flexible schedule, and a true passion for animals, you can trust that your pet will receive plenty of love, attention, and companionship while you’re away. 🐶🐱💕 I work full-time, but pet sitting fits well into my weekly schedule because I’m intentional about making time for it. I only take on bookings I can fully commit to, so every pet gets the attention, care, and reliability they deserve. Evenings and weekends are open as well as during lunch hours during the work week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their familiar environment. I follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and lots of attention. I also treat your home with respect, keep things clean and secure, and provide updates so you can feel at ease while you’re away.
“Mary went above and beyond to love my pups just as I would while I was away. My pup can have a bit of separation anxiety and she handled it so well, and took great care of them. I can’t recommend her enough.”

About: As Adoption Coordinator for the Oahu SPCA, I've seen it all. I've cared for dogs and cats in a clinical setting, as a foster, owner, and sitter for many years. I've found homes for countless animals in a rescue setting. And more than anything, I want your pet to feel safe and happy when their loving family is away. I work for myself from home, so my schedule is flexible and I can spend lots of quality time with your baby. Your pet will have no shortage of attention, snuggles, quality time and exercise. Dogs love routine- whether they're staying with me or at your house. Waking up at the same time each morning makes certain they get the ya-ya's out and don't have to wait to go potty. Puppies and older dogs with more urgent bladder needs will of course be accomodated with extra supervised trips outside and puppy pads if needed. I'm very conscious that there are no animal-toxic foods/plants/fragrances left out for pets to get into. You can rest assured your pet will be fed the proper amounts, medicines, and brands of your choice to protect their digestive system. My home offers a big beautiful bike path on the river, where your pet will get tons of good walks and a big house to explore. For cats, I have a large but contained space for them to roam and also find seclusion without getting lost. Their litter box will stay in the same spot every time so they know where to go, and they will always have fresh litter. I would love to play with them so bring their favorite toys! No other pets are in the home as all of our babies passed of old age. Adult family members share the home, so there is extra help. No kiddos are in the home so no concerns there. If in your home, I'm very diligent about making sure doors are secure and locked so pets don't escape. I always know where your pet is and make sure their environment is calm and quiet.
“Jennifer took excellent care of our cat while we were out - she’s thorough, professional, and takes great pics! We’ll definitely be requesting her services again in the future.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for many years growing up as I had family pets and other families pets. As a patient care assistant and nursing student, I’m attentive, responsible, and comfortable providing individualized care. Whether your pet needs walks, feeding, companionship, or extra patience, I’ll treat them like family. I work part-time while attending school, which allows me flexibility for pet care. I make time each day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I communicate regularly with pet owners and can provide updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is receiving excellent care while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special care requests. As someone with healthcare experience, I understand the importance of being observant, dependable, and prepared for unexpected situations.
“Michelle was a great cat sitter for Cheddar! She dropped in 5 times for us, was on time, communicated with us, and took care of Cheddar’s needs while we were away. Michelle has helped us twice now and we will book her again in the future. Thank you 😺”

About: My biggest concern while I’m away on vacation is “how are my dogs doing?” They are like my children. I have used Rover in the past to watch my dogs and home while I’m on vacation. I want to be that trustworthy person for someone else. I have ALWAYS been an animal lover! I have rescued dogs, I’ve fostered dogs and watched dogs for friends and family. I have two Golden Retrievers at home who love to have company come over and play in the fenced in backyard. I am looking forward to taking care of your Furbaby like they are my own I work Full-time but am able to leave for lunch to take care of any pets needs during the day. Right now I go home everyday on lunch and spend time with my dogs. I have a fenced in backyard and 2 Golden Retrievers who love to have company! At this time, if I watch your dog in my home, he/she would need to be crated while I’m at work. They would be crated no longer than 4 hours unless I make other arrangements with my job, where I could come home more frequently.
“Jen provided drop-in visits and daily walks with my German Shepherd while I was out of town. He can be a little intimidating with his barking when someone new is on his property, but Jen was unfazed and just took her time meeting him. He immediately warmed up to her and they did great together. Besides exercise and feeding/watering, Jen administered eye drops and pills every day, lots of belly rubs and play time. She was punctual, trustworthy, and provided updates on all the things a pet parent needs to know, to be sure their pet is getting high quality care. Highly recommended!”

I have a flexible work from home schedule so we can discuss what times and number of visits work best for you and your pet! Always leashed dogs unless permission for off leash in own yard. Listen to any and all instructions that you give. Respect the dog or cats behavior and needs.

About: The past six years I have had the opportunity to watch many different kinds of animals, everything from a chinchilla to large dog breeds. I have even watched rescue dogs a few times. This has allow me to better understand dogs behaviors. I have school Monday through Friday six to three in the afternoon. This leaves me with afternoons, nights and weekends completely free to take care of pets. I would keep the pets safe by following rules and preferences set by the owner, such as using gates and leashes, making sure hazardous items are out of reach, keeping in communication with the owners, and getting to know the pet and there behaviors along with there routines.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
