Sassy had never been under someone else's care and my aunt was nervous about leaving her with a "stranger". But Mindy was wonderful and allowed us to come for a 'meet and greet' when we arrived in town the day before our booking. My aunt was still nervous about leaving her the next day because Sassy, being a Maltipoo, has separation anxiety. But Mindy knew taking Sassy for a walk right after we left would be a good distraction. She was also wonderful about sending pictures and videos especially that first day and that made us feel better about leaving her. By the second day Sassy was comfortable going straight to Mindy when we arrived. Also, she was very flexible regarding drop off and pick up times.”
About: I have owned dogs all my life, and turned to fostering and dogsitting after college for shorter commitments. I have fostered over 15 dogs, including seniors, puppies, 70+ lb reactive dogs, and those needing medications. I have also catsit for friends and neighbors and cared for fish the last three years. About: As Adoption Coordinator for the Oahu SPCA, I've seen it all. I've cared for dogs and cats in a clinical setting, as a foster, owner, and sitter for many years. I've found homes for countless animals in a rescue setting. And more than anything, I want your pet to feel safe and happy when their loving family is away. I work for myself from home, so my schedule is flexible and I can spend lots of quality time with your baby. Your pet will have no shortage of attention, snuggles, quality time and exercise. Dogs love routine- whether they're staying with me or at your house. Waking up at the same time each morning makes certain they get the ya-ya's out and don't have to wait to go potty. Puppies and older dogs with more urgent bladder needs will of course be accomodated with extra supervised trips outside and puppy pads if needed. I'm very conscious that there are no animal-toxic foods/plants/fragrances left out for pets to get into. You can rest assured your pet will be fed the proper amounts, medicines, and brands of your choice to protect their digestive system. My home offers a big beautiful bike path on the river, where your pet will get tons of good walks and a big house to explore. For cats, I have a large but contained space for them to roam and also find seclusion without getting lost. Their litter box will stay in the same spot every time so they know where to go, and they will always have fresh litter. I would love to play with them so bring their favorite toys! No other pets are in the home as all of our babies passed of old age. Adult family members share the home, so there is extra help. No kiddos are in the home so no concerns there. If in your home, I'm very diligent about making sure doors are secure and locked so pets don't escape. I always know where your pet is and make sure their environment is calm and quiet.
About: I've fostered and trained 14 puppies until they found their forever homes, with organizations like R.A.R.E Rescue and Big Fluffy Dog Rescue. I especially love teaching puppies tricks, such as "sit," "spin," "come here," I can teach them to recognize their names, and I can potty and crate train as well. About: I’ve taken care of a couple different dogs for around three to four years now doing basic care takings needs such as playing, walking, and feeding. I have also had a Shih tzu of my own for 3 years now. I work part time and I am a full time student. My summer schedule has classes and work several days of the week. I’m generally free most mornings and after 9pm on days I work. I let my dog walk around our home freely. However in our backyard I have a leash for him so he can walk around while not being able to run off! When I am dog watching when I am away I would crate the dog if im gone for several hours and let them roam if its for a short amount of time.

About: My biggest concern while I’m away on vacation is “how are my dogs doing?” They are like my children. I have used Rover in the past to watch my dogs and home while I’m on vacation. Whether it’s daily walks, drop-in visits, or extended care, I treat every dog like family, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and well-cared for while you’re away. My goal is simple: give you peace of mind and give your dog the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. I'm currently working part-time and am looking to fill the gaps in my schedule with some time well spent, loving and playing with some furry friends! I am also flexible for overnight stays if worked out with ample time in advance! I tailor my care to each pet’s routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free in their own environments. For walks, I make sure your dog gets safe, engaging exercise at their own pace, along with fresh water and plenty of attention before I leave. I am also willing to take your dog to a dog park for some interactive time with others, if this is a suitable/desirable option for you. For overnight stays, I maintain their normal schedule as closely as possible, feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide, while also keeping your home tidy and secure. Having grown up around dogs, I’m attentive to their behavior and needs, so you can feel confident they’re in capable, caring hands while you’re away!

Jodi went above and beyond brushing our dog daily and cleaning his nose with a q tip due to a medical issue. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.
