“I feel so lucky to have found Katie! She is AWESOME. She is communicative, trustworthy and professional. She has a really calm, kind energy and befriended my dog right away. And I loved all the photo updates! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

About: I have had dogs throughout my life. I love dogs, and they are truly humans’ best friends! My husband and I have a cairn terrier named Hachi and a cavapoo named Matcha, and we would love to meet some furry friends! I love to take a walk after work and I would take your pup with! Our house also has a fenced in yard so your pup can run and burn some energy that way as well. I always keep my door locked and when I’m out with your pup I’ll make sure they are leashed at all time and make sure other dogs are friendly before letting them interact with your pup.

About: I’ve done overnight pet and house sitting for several years and different clients, as well as drop/in visits to feed, care, and keep pets company while owners are away. I work a full time day job during the week and am free most evenings and weekends. I work my day job the first Saturday of every month. I have a fenced in yard and have experience with crated and non-crated situations. The physical and emotional wellbeing of your pet is of the utmost importance.
“Jessica was amazing with Nash (who can be quite a handful 🤣) She came for his potty, dinner, and anxiety pill routine when I worked long hours and I always felt at ease with the communication and photos she provided. I can’t wait to book with her again for the remainder of the summer! 10/10!!!”

“Katie always gives the best care to our cats, including giving medicine to our two special needs cats. She is highly recommended by us for her promptness, dependability and care.”

“I would definitely recommend Anthony. This was my first pet sitter experience and it was definitely a positive one. I will definitely utilize his services again.”

“Gabrielle went above and beyond to make sure that my three cats were happy and comfortable while I was gone. I will definitely call on her again to care for my furry family.”

About: I've had 3 dogs and 6 cats since I was a child, and I've taken care of family friend's pets before overnight and for scheduled walks. I am still searching for a part-time job and it is summer break for my college, so I have pleanty of free time for pet care. I try to give their pet a much space as possible as they get used to me. And I'll pay attention to any scheduled feedings and any other traditions clients have to make the pets feel safe, happy, and loved.
About: Hi! I go by my middle name, Kathy and I’m 69 years old, I have 3 dogs currently and have had dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, ducks, hamsters, bearded dragons and a gecko for pets as well as fish! I can provide several references from people I have cared for their pets. I love all animals. I do work part time 9-1:30 M-F during the school year, I’m off during the summer, but will be able to take care of your pet before work and then after and through the night. I’m very trust worthy and would love the opportunity to care for your pets. I take care of your home and your pets as carefully as my own. I’m currently working part time and would have plenty of time to care for your pet before and after work. I’m also available to spend the nights when needed. I provide in your home sitting only. I feel keeping your pet in their home in their familiar surroundings is much less stressful on them. I will provide as much love and cuddles as they will allow. My typical day during the week would consist of me getting up early enough to let your pet out to potty, feed and water them and play a little while. Then I would go to work till 12:30/1:30, go back to your house and repeat the morning routine unless your pet does not eat again in the afternoon, play and cuddle as much as your pet wants. If your pet sleeps with you, they are more than welcome to sleep with me too.

About: Having lifelong experience around both dogs and cats has helped me become very comfortable caring for animals of all sizes and personalities. I’ve grown up around both dogs and cats and have been responsible for feeding, walking, playing with, and caring for them whenever my parents were away. I’ve had both small and large dogs so I understand that every pet has different needs and energy levels. I’m very patient, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with animals. Over the years, I’ve learned how to read dogs’ body language and recognize when they need space, comfort, playtime, or extra attention. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their owners are away, and I will treat every animal like they are my own. As a college student majoring in Exercise Science who is home for the summer, pet care fits really naturally into my daily routine! I have a very flexible schedule and lots of availability to dedicate time, attention, walks, playtime, and care to your pets. Tuesdays through Thursdays I’m unavailable between 12–6 PM, but I’m still available mornings and evenings on those days. Overall, I’m able to be very flexible and spend plenty of quality time with your pups while making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved. I’m very attentive when caring for pets, and my main goal is to make them feel loved, comfortable, and cared for while their humans are away. I know what it’s like to have velcro dogs who get anxious when their people leave, so I always try to give pets extra attention, patience, playtime, and affection so they feel safe and not alone. I have 4 dogs of my own, so I’m very used to busy and sometimes chaotic environments, and I’m comfortable handling different personalities and energy levels. I’ll always treat your pets like they’re my own and do my best to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible!
About: I've been pet sitting for about three years now and animals are my whole life. I love big dogs and grew up constantly around Great Danes and Mastiffs. I've also raised three puppies over the years and been involved in basic care, walking, playing, and potty training. I'm getting certified in dog grooming starting in August, so I'm available for a large amount of time over the summer! Currently, I'm looking to pet sit full time! I am available on almost any day of the week (and weekend!) and can come at any time needed during this summer. I will always make sure your fur babies are fed, have water at all times, get any specific meds (if needed), are played with as much as possible, and are plenty loved! I will treat your animals as if they were my own, making sure they are consistently happy and healthy. I also strive to make your return back home as stress-free as possible and often vacuum, wipe down surfaces, and tidy up before leaving!
“Jacqueline is outstanding! She took great care of our furbabies while we were out of town. She gave medication as prescribed and sent us pictures along with a report card every visit. Thank you so much, Jacqueline!!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 16 and have experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I currently own two Cane Corsos and grew up with pit bulls, so I’m very comfortable with strong, large, and high-energy breeds as well as smaller companions. I understand how important routine, consistency, and trust are for dogs while their owners are away. I make it a priority to follow your pet’s schedule closely and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in your absence. I’m also happy to provide regular photo updates so you can feel connected and reassured while you’re away. I currently work part time, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide reliable drop-in visits for your pup. I’m happy to work around your needs to ensure your dog receives consistent, attentive care. When caring for pets in their owner’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I follow all feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide to ensure consistency and stability. I always make sure fresh water is available, their space is clean, and they’re getting the attention, exercise, and companionship they need. I’m comfortable administering medications if required and pay close attention to their behavior and overall well-being during each visit. I treat both your pet and your home with the same level of care and respect I would expect for my own. I’ll also send photo updates and messages so you can feel reassured and connected while you’re away
About: My love for pets started to grow almost 15 years ago when I met my best friend! My pet had diet issues so I am very familiar with Prescriptions, and diet restrictions or prescribed diets. I love exploring the outdoors as much as your pets do! My weekly schedule is open, I am taking college courses for Veterinary Medicine! I am doing pet care as a job while I am in school, I base my schedule around what You and Your Pet need! I love to visit my clients, they make everyday so much better! I talk with the pet as I would anyone while we do whatever task we have scheduled! (playing, walking, running, sitting)

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Grain Valley
Kathleen is awesome! Our request was a little different than most - we needed someone to care for our koi pond and keep an eye out for critters in the pool! She sent awesome pictures and updates, and even went the extra mile to net frogs out of the pool, which isn't easy! We felt very confident that our fish were in good hands, and they were! Thanks Kathleen!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
