“Myra is very awesome! She made sure we were updated. She was great in ensuring the safety of the dogs, keeping them separated if needed. Obi came back very happy. I’m pretty sure Obi didn’t even miss us lol. We will definitely use her services again!”

“Kathleen was great. She was able to watch Lucy last minute. Lucy is older with some health problems and Kathleen was very reassuring and attentive. She was also very patient with Lucy as she adjusted the first couple of days. Thanks for the great stay!”

“Tonya took excellent care of my diabetic cat for 10 days. She gave her the shots that she needed and sent me pictures and let her have her own space to stay in. Tonya lives on a nice farm with other animals around and she is a total professional. Very glad we met you, Tonya!”

“Rachel and Donald provided great care for Pippa (who suffers from an allergy to chicken). They sent daily pictures, and she became quite comfortable with them. I'd gladly use their services again!”

“Michelle was absolutely wonderful! Miss Olivia did great and I was updated numerous times a day which helped my kids and I from being away from our precious puppy. We will most definitely use her for any future trips.”

“Very professional and informative during my trip. It was my first time using a dog sitter and I am very pleased and my baby seemed very comfortable on her first overnight stay with sitter”

“Taylor was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of Gunner this past weekend and kept me updated with lots of pictures, which I really appreciated! It was so nice knowing he was in great hands while I was away. Gunner had such a great time, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I would absolutely recommend Taylor to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their fur babies. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: Ive taken care of dogs for a little over 6 years but have been around dogs and cats all my life. Family and friends have relied on me to care for their pets and I enjoy taking care of fur babies. I work from home and finish work around 3:30pm. I am free most weekends for walks and care. With enough time in advance I can dog/cat sit in your home. I ensure a welcoming environment for your pet. I do have a 3 year old chocolate labrador who loves to have guests. I stay as true to their normal routine as possible making it an easy transition for when the owner is gone. I make sure I give extra love and attention to the pets as I would want this for my own pet.
“Samantha did a great job boarding and caring for our Labrador Lizzie (8 years old and walks on 3 legs) while we were on vacation. We received pictures each day of Lizzie and she appeared to always be having a good time. I fully trust Samantha with our Lab and I'm definite we will be using her services again in the near future. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give Samantha a 15+... Her communication was great and I always felt Lizzie was well cared for and in safe hands.”

“Lawrence was great. He sent pics, video, and updates, and he took great care of my baby. You can tell he really cares about animals. I highly recommend him for your petsitting needs.”

“Kellie was great with our rambunctious lab puppy River! She was super flexible and patient with him and he seemed like he had a great time playing with her dog all weekend. I would definitely recommend Kellie to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“Ann is wonderful! She sent us daily photos and updates on how our dogs were doing. They had a blast in the doggy pool, made a new friend, and she even let our puppy try sleeping in the bed and it went really well! We will be using Ann in the future.”
“Melissa was so great with our dog, Murphy! He had a blast at her house. She did a great job sending us pics and updates. I cannot recommend her enough and will definitely book her in the future.”

About: I have been caring for animals as long as I can remember. My Mother showed me how to handle puppies and kittens as well as the wonder of animal watching. I am currently wanting to work from home and give walks part-time to start. I am open to long-term care as well. I've had several different animals as pets and respect them all. I have a loving home with a large fence and small fence. The area will have plenty of water and toys and will be treated for pests.
“We are so grateful to have found Claudia!!! She is the best!!! ? She is so sweet and caring and did an amazing job taking care of our girls! ? She regularly sends updates, which we appreciate so much! Plus, Claudia responds quickly and is super flexible! We had faith that our dogs were in good hands with her! ??? We are truly thankful for the love and care she gave them! They had a blast and especially loved spending time with Tango!! ? “Cosmo had a few of his happiest days with Jessica, Doug and their family. He bonded with their pups and got to play chase and football on their spacious property. He’s already asking to hang out with Sky and George, their two pups, again! Jessica and Doug went out of their way to keep me updated with pictures. I felt at ease the whole time.”

“Summer was exactly who I was looking for to watch my pup. Originally she was going to watch him for the day but because my work schedule constantly changes, she was flexible and was able to watch Hurley overnight too. Hurley and her dog had so much fun. When she dropped Hurley off he waited by door wondering when she was coming back. 10/10 would definitely recommend.”

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
