Our dogs had the best stay with Jill and her family. We traveled from out of town into the mountains for a family trip and were happy to know our dogs were somewhere safe. Jill sent lots of photos and it was evident the pups had a blast in her backyard! We will certainly bring the dogs back if we’re up in that way again!

Laura was wonderful with our mini Bernedoodle! We felt so comfortable knowing that he was in a safe and happy environment. She sent us texts and photos throughout his stay so that we could keep up with how he was doing. We will definitely call on Laura the next time we are in the area! 5 stars!!

Myra was great. Flexible with a quick pick up the day before, offered to see about a refund for the extra night, we declined the offer. The dogs both seemed happy and healthy when we picked them up. Thanks so much for the service and will definitely use again! Relieved to find a reliable dog sitter who is close to our home and she sends pictures while you are away from your pets... Those pictures assure you more than words can say. Thanks, again!

My dog, Kira, was well cared for during her 9‑day stay. I received daily photos and updates, and she came home happy and relaxed. She was clearly treated like one of their own, and communication was great throughout. I felt comfortable knowing she was in good hands. I would book again.

Kathy did a fantastic job of taking care of Grover and we highly recommend her services. Grover can be temperamental, but Kathy did a great job handling him and adapting to him when needed. She kept in touch with us during the course of the week and quickly responded when we inquired as to Grover's condition. Kathy even gave us a recipe for homemade dog treats that Grover enjoyed while he stayed with her.

We had a sitter lined up that cancelled last minute and Charles stepped up to help. He responded quickly to my request and was easy to communicate with. I could tell within a few minutes of meeting him that my pup was in good hands and was going to be well cared for. Charles took the best care of my dog. Charles is very nice, caring and friendly.

Flower enjoyed her weekend with Donald! She was well taken care of and loved while we were gone. Drop off and pick-up were easy! Donald also sent several pictures of Flower while in his care and was easy to get in touch with while we were gone. We appreciated his care of Flower and will definitely use his services in the future!

About: I’ve always been an animal lover, from horses to reptiles! I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and some of the others throughout. We recently lost our dog to cancer at just shy of 13 years old, and I’m currently volunteering as a dog walker at the animal shelter to help fill that void. With the limited hours available there, I thought we could try this avenue as well. I work full time, but my daughter and I would love to find a dog to walk Wednesday through Friday evenings, or weekends! We are available some weekends for dog/cat care while you’re away as well. We love walking dogs, playing fetch, petting them, and providing lots of love. We enjoy playing with cat toys, and giving them plenty of attention as well.

Samantha did a great job boarding and caring for our Labrador Lizzie (8 years old and walks on 3 legs) while we were on vacation. We received pictures each day of Lizzie and she appeared to always be having a good time. I fully trust Samantha with our Lab and I'm definite we will be using her services again in the near future. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give Samantha a 15+... Her communication was great and I always felt Lizzie was well cared for and in safe hands.

She had a separate room for our 3 kitties with cat tree and litter box. It wasn't crowded. She came in and checked in on them a few times a day. They were just being anti social because of moving. She was a caring individual. She kept the litter boxes clean and was wonderful with communication and pictures.

Jimena has taken such good care of our Midas. She has sent us videos and pictures of him each day. That made us happy seeing he was having a good time and interacting with her and the other dogs. He has had space to spend outside and inside. She accepted our reservation at the very last minute too!!

Sherrie was awesome. She watched our dog while we were away on a 8 day cruise. This was our dogs first time so having peace of mind and getting to see the space beforehand was important. We received regular updates and photos, and our pup was relaxed when she got home and went right back to her normal potty, eating and sleeping routine with ease. We would definitely book with her again!

I’m so glad I found Laura! We recently moved from out of state and so needed to start over with a trusted dog sitter for our 2 littles. They had been with the same sitter for several years so this would be a big change for them. Laura immediately set me at ease with her immaculate home and her calm manner. While Luna and Ruby were in high alert with the new house, they settled in quickly. Laura sent many updates and pics which was reassuring. We are confident we have found our new permanent sitter! Thank you, Laura for taking good care of our girls!

Sherrie was phenomenal. She was upfront and direct during our meet and greet, putting any nerves I had at rest. She's consistent and professional. She managed our Doberman extremely well and kept us updated with daily pictures. He has anxiety and high energy, but she took on the challenge and my dog had a great stay. Couldn't recommend her more.

Sherrie is great! Very knowledgeable about dog behavior, and caring. She provides pets all the things they need to be happy and feel at home. She was great with socialization skills when introducing new dogs to mine during his stay. I know my boy was happy and well taken care of. He had a very long stay due to me being out of the country for a week, so it was a lot for him and he did great under her care. She communicated with me daily with status updates and lots of pics. I would absolutely recommend Sherrie and when I am in need of a pet sitter would hope to always get to book with her!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hudson home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
