“Myra is the best. She cares about our furry family members and takes good care of them. I have booked with her several times and I’ve always been pleased with her. Petey stayed for. 11 days while I recovered from surgery. She sent me updates and pictures almost daily. Thanks Myra for what you do Paulette and Petey 🐕”
“Charles did an excellent job at taking care of our very senior dog. He sent pics every day and updated us to how he was doing, how he was responding to him and his dog, and that he seemed comfortable with his surroundings. I really do appreciate his caring attitude toward Zeus; that gave us peace of mind while we were vacationing. We will definitely ask him to care for Zeus on our next vacation, and I will pass on to my friends that Charles is a wonderful canine caregiver. I appreciate Charles and Rover!”

“At our meet and greet, I knew Karen was the one whom we could leave our dog, Cocoa, with and know she's in good hands. We received daily updates on Cocoa. In no time, Cocoa warmed up to her furball friends and Karen. I highly recommend Karen if you're looking for someone to dog sit your dog.”

“This was our first visit and the first time my dog has ever been boarded. Kathleen was wonderful—she sent pictures and letting me know that Kenzie was doing fine…which really helped put my mind at ease. She went out of her way to make both me and my Kenzie feel comfortable about being apart. So grateful for the care and thoughtfulness!”

“Laura took great care of our dog Bailey. She was very kind, accommodating, and understanding when we had to change our booking in the last minute. She sent us daily updates and pictures to let us know how Bailey was doing. Bailey had a surgery recently and Laura helped her to fully recover. We would definitely recommend Laura to take excellent care of your furry friend.”

“She was a wonderful sitter! She gave me daily updates with pictures so I wasn't worrying during my time away and went out of her way to pick up/drop off my beastie baby when I struggled to navigate her road. Most importantly, she called my dog sweet which is one of the best things a dog mom can hear about their child. :)”

“Donald does a great job picking Duke up, watching him at his home and bringing Duke back home. He communicates daily with pictures and texts. Duke is always happy and well following his stays. Donald is our go to dog sitter and we highly recommend him.”

“Susan and her family were amazing with our Penny girl! We loved all the photos and videos each evening. Penny spent Christmas with them and they even bought her a gift because I told them that our girl loves Christmas! I highly recommend having them sit your babies ❤️”

“Tonya took excellent care of my diabetic cat for 10 days. She gave her the shots that she needed and sent me pictures and let her have her own space to stay in. Tonya lives on a nice farm with other animals around and she is a total professional. Very glad we met you, Tonya!”

“Rachel is AMAZING!! This was my first time boarding my pups (one with anxiety) and using Rover. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 11/10 experience! We did a meet and greet ahead of time, which was super helpful. She has a wonderful setup! A nice, large, fenced-in yard for them to run around and play. The upper deck is perfect for my pups looking out over the yard and resting in the sun. Rachel is a fantastic communicator sending multiple updates, pics and videos throughout the day. With my permission, the dogs were allowed on the couch and provided lots of cuddles and she even slept in the spare room with them (just like home). For my pup with anxiety, she moved slow and gave her time to adjust and settle. My babies got all the play, love and attention they are used to (plus a little more) 😊😊 Also, Rachel was very flexible with me for drop-off and pickup as we were going out of town. My heart is so full knowing my babies were so well cared for! Thank you Rachel!!!”

“Michelle was so great at sharing pics so I could see how much our Brady enjoyed cuddling and being part of her family for Labor Day weekend. I would highly recommend her to watch your fur baby.”

“Brooke and her family are amazing! They provided a warm, loving home for me to leave my little Gizmo when I planned a last minute getaway for myself. Her teenage daughter immediately bonded with him and immediately started giving him love! They sent my photos of him while I was away. The day I was returning she was flexible with my return time. What else could you ask for?! I will definitely be using Brooke again!”

About: Reliable and detailed oriented! I will get to know their personal needs , personality, and what works for them! Your pets second favorite human lol I am a body piercer. I work 10 minutes away from my home. I have a set time to take my puppy out as he is still going through potty training My apartment is pretty open for the fur babies to room around and I have a small fur baby of my own that can play with! There is a big area of grass around my complex where they can go potty and play and a dog park right up the street.
“Brittany has been great with my pups. I felt super comf with them staying with her and her family. It helps a lot that she has her pup with her, who's super extroverted and helped get my younger dog out of his shell. I strongly recommend her! I'm just bummed that she's moving away from me 😞”

“I left my German Shepherd Beagle Harbour and unfixed Pitbull Ace with Natalie for 4 days and 3 nights. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Upon drop off, she met me right at my vehicle and helped get the boys, their crates, and bags inside. Upon pick up, she did the exact same. Also, to my surprise, both the boys had been bathed and wearing the cutest bandannas. She sent lots of photos and video updates throughout their stay and they always look like they were having a blast. She even let them cuddle in bed with her at night. Definitely going to book with Natalie over and over again!!!”

“This was our first time using Rover. And Ginia and her family were great. Daisy loved her stay with them. She had so much fun. Ginia gave me updates daily which assured us we made a good decision choosing them to care for Daisy. We will definitely be using Ginia again. Feel confident in booking with Ginia.”

“Madison is a very attentive and communicative sitter. She took great care of the cats and sent photos and updates every day. Even when she was finished with tasks she stayed to visit with the cats if they wanted to come around. We trust her to care for our kitties.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Jenny! She was caring, reliable, and clearly went above and beyond to make sure our cats were happy and comfortable. She even left treats for them, which was such a sweet extra touch! It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely book with her again! 🐾❤️”

“This was our first experience with Rover.com and with Arthur D.; we could not have been more pleased. We had recently and unexpectedly said goodbye to our four-year-old cat after a sudden illness, and we weren’t even sure we would be able to take our planned trip. Arthur went above and beyond, adjusting his schedule on very short notice to accommodate us. Communicating with Arthur through the Rover platform was as easy as replying to a text message. The updates following each visit far exceeded our expectations and included pictures of every pet, along with thoughtful details about their eating, behavior, and overall well-being. Arthur was attentive, dependable, and genuinely kind during a very difficult time for our family. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a compassionate and trustworthy caregiver for their pets.”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Grace Chapel
“I came up to North Carolina to spend the summer in the cooler weather. Being by myself with a senior dog meant that I would have to constantly care for him. I decided to look for somebody that I could trust that was loving and caring and had dog whisperer vibes, especially when it comes to senior dogs. I am lucky to have met Jenny. From the moment of our meet and greet , Shemp , who is usually a high anxiety dog was calm and happy. She updated me with pictures, walked him and gave me the peace of mind to know that my dog will be well cared for, which he was. I will definitely be using Jenny again and would recommend her to anyone looking for the perfect person to care for their pets.”

About: I have had, rescued, and taken care of a wide variety of dogs from smaller malti-poos to a Dane who had been living on the street, was skin and bones, and ended up 188 lbs. Currently I have Pippa, a 7-year-old Labrador who is allergic to chicken, so I make part of her food. I am home most of the time, except when I host overly-complex board games at the Hickory Library or the Highland Rec Center -- and those sessions are at most 3 hours long. I am home most days, except when I am hosting 3-hour board games at the local library and rec center. Otherwise, I take care of our house and rental properties. I have a large fenced yard -- especially-so since my house sits along North Center Street. I also use carabiners to make sure that gates are locked.
“Laura watched our 3 year old Golden Retriever for a couple hours while we were dropping our kids off at a nearby camp. She was very kind and responsive and took great care of him! Thank you!”

“Sherrie was so sweet to my young dog! I dropped my dog, Rosie, off for doggy daycare while I went to work. I picked her up around 4pm and she was exhausted! Sherrie has a great outdoor space with a huge yard and kept me updated with pictures of her playing fetch with my dog all day! She was a phenomenal Rover!”

About: I've had animals since I was a child and have taken care of them all of my adult life. I have personally fostered over 75 dogs through to their adoptions! I'm a trusted caregiver who can handle animals of all sizes, ages, abilities and temperaments! I love getting to know each animal's personality and how to best take care of them! With several dogs and a cat at home, I am always in pet care mode (and know how important it is to find a trusted sitter). Whether it is a drop-in or a boarding situation, I treat each pet like they are my own. (Also, our cat has his own "wing" of our home so he is not interacting with any visiting dogs.) We have two friendly, large dogs, Tennessee & Tucky who have been foster brothers to over 75 dogs of all sizes and ages. Having fostered so many dogs, I recognize that each animal is unique and I enjoy getting to know their individual personalities and how to best care for them. Whether the animals are in my house or their own, I will follow the owners' instructions and manage expectations so there are as few surprises as possible. I know how worrisome it can be to leave your pet(s) in the care of another, and I pride myself on making sure the animals are taken care of and enjoy themselves.

About: My family has animals and I have spent 9 years helping take care of their dogs and two cats. I have two dogs of my own and I have trained them myself as well as knowing when they need space, fed, or walked. Currently i don't work so i am free any day and anytime to be able to watch your animal. Animals are my best friend and I know they are yours too! I feed my animals twice a day based on their needs. I walk my animals 4 times a day or 3 times day depending on the day. I also help my family with their animals and have been for 9 years
About: I have nearly 10 years of experience with dogs. For the last 4 years I have been running my own business where I breed health tested and titled AKC Labrador Retrievers. All of my dogs live in my home. They are our “kids” and our entire world revolves around them. Prior to this I managed 2 different boarding/daycare/training facilities, one in Wilmington NC and one in Catawba NC. Due to this experience, I have learned so much about dog behavior, training, proper structure within a household and/or pack of dogs, etc. I take pride in how well behaved my own dogs are as well as how they are able to co-exist with all dogs. My entire life revolves around my dogs and any dogs that stay with us. I am home 24/7 with the occasional hour or two of running errands so you wouldn’t have to worry about your pup(s) being left for hours on end. I always make sure your dog(s) energy/training needs are met - mentally and physically. I also (as long as approved by the you/the owner) am happy to allow play time with our dogs under my supervision! We do require your dog(s) to be up to date on parvo and rabies vaccines or titer testing. We thoroughly clean crates/floors/toys every day to ensure we are keeping a sanitary and sickness free environment.
“We’re expecting our first child so it was so important to find the right sitter to watch our fur baby! He had a great time I loved receiving the pictures. I can’t thank Jill and her family enough!!!”

“Jimena was an excellent sitter. I was visiting NC with my family and was very glad to find her to stay with Benny, our Coton de Tulear. She has a beautiful place for daycare and boarding. She sent me photos and videos and was very caring with Benny. I would definitely book with her again next time I’m visiting North Carolina!”

“Papito loves spending time with Lawrence and Gabby. They have calm, positive energy and he always comes back happy. He's pretty headstrong and very high energy and it always feels like Lawrence and Gabby truly enjoy and appreciate him, which makes it easy not to worry about leaving him for a night or weekend. Plus they always send great artistic-quality pics of his time with them. We feel lucky to have found them.”

Adventure-ready dog walkers - Grace Chapel
About: Hi, I'm Jenny. I'm so excited to meet & care for your loved ones. Animals have been at the center of my life for more than 20 years. I spent five years working with a humane society, assisting with adoptions, foster programs, and cruelty cases, and I have fostered countless cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies throughout the years. This experience has given me the skills to care for pets of all ages, personalities, and needs. Pet sitting is now my primary focus, allowing me to provide dependable care, flexible scheduling, and plenty of one-on-one attention. Whether your pet needs exercise, companionship, medication, or extra patience and support, I will tailor my care to their individual needs. I have experience administering medications and caring for senior and special-needs pets, who hold a special place in my heart. Friends often joke that I'm a "cat whisperer" because cats tend to warm up to me quickly, but I love dogs and cats equally. When your pet is in my care, you can expect reliable communication, compassion, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing they are receiving attentive, experienced care and plenty of love while you're away. I look forward to becoming your pet's next best friend! Since pet care is my full-time commitment. I'm available for daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday care. I dedicate my full attention, allowing me to be flexible and available when you and your pets need me. I can easily accommodate small dogs in my townhouse. I have a large deck to lounge around and plenty of areas to walk your pet & keep them safe. I offer flexible services to fit your pet's needs and your schedule, including drop-in visits, walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day. I can accommodate cats and kittens in my home if needed; however, most cats are happiest and least stressed when cared for in their own environment. Staying in a familiar space helps them maintain their routine and feel secure while you're away.
“Madison walked our dog for the first time today. She was great—on time for our meet-and-greet yesterday, and timely in her communication, from initial request to post-walk feedback. I will definitely book her for future walks!”

About: Although I'm new to the Rover platform, I've loved, raised, and cared for dogs (ranging in size from 10 to 90+ pounds, and of all ages) all of my life, and cats for years. I've employed others to care for our animals when we're away, so I know what level of care and communication clients expect. I know it's important for you to know that your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for in your absence. Communication is a priority for me. I'll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing how your pet is doing. My goal is for you to feel completely at ease and for your pet to feel happy, secure, and loved while you're away. I am a retired school teacher, so my schedule is flexible, and I can take the time to get to know each pet's individual personality, preferences, and routine. I've lived in this area for more than 30 years. I'm dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to treating your home and pets with the same care and respect I would expect for my own. I look forward to meeting you and providing a safe, positive experience for your furry family member! I am a (young and energetic) retiree, so my schedule can accommodate your needs. I am available every day of the week and can visit (feed, walk, play with, etc.) your pet(s) up to three times a day. You know your pet(s) best, so I will care for them exactly as you instruct me to. As a career educator, I'd compare my services to those of a good substitute teacher: you'll communicate the plan, and I'll faithfully carry it out. I'll send you regular updates while you're away. I love and genuinely enjoy spending time with all animals, and I understand how much you especially love your pet(s). Above all, that will inform the care I provide.
“Kaitie was awesome. Winston loved having a walk with her. She sent a video and pictures which was unexpected and such a nice surprise. Her communication is fantastic. I would highly recommend!”

About: I’m a dog owner of a 4-year-old German Shepherd with epilepsy and an 8-year-old Beagle. Caring for my Shepherd has given me hands-on experience administering medication on a consistent schedule, monitoring for seizures and staying calm and responsive if one occurs. My dogs are also decently trained, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic commands and maintaining structure. Having two completely different types of breeds also gives me experience with a different energy level and the attention to both of their different needs. Together they’ve taught me how to balance exercise, rest, mental stimulation, and individualized care for dogs of different sizes, ages, and temperaments. Being a military veteran I am also reliable, and consistent. I have lived with dogs all of my life and love meeting all kinds of different breeds. I’m happy to follow your routines closely, send regular updates and photos, and provide the calm, consistent care that helps dogs feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m currently on terminal leave from the military and will be starting my graduate program soon, with classes only on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This gives me a flexible schedule with plenty of free time on the other weekdays, evenings, and weekends. I’m available for sitting, and walks most days and can easily adjust around my class times to provide pet care. I’m experienced with dogs of different sizes and temperaments and will follow your routines, medication needs, and any special instructions closely. I can crate when needed and always prioritize supervision, safety, and lots of positive interaction so your pup feels comfortable and well cared for.

About: I have been a dedicated animal lover for as long as I can remember, beginning my journey at age twelve with a neighborhood dog-walking business. Having owned both dogs and cats for most of my life, I am comfortable with breeds of all sizes and temperaments. I recognize that every dog is unique; for instance, my own Boxer’s love for "tug" has certainly kept me on my toes and built my strength! While I am confident in my ability to bond with almost any animal, I prioritize transparency above all else. If I ever feel I am not the perfect match for your pet’s specific needs, I will communicate that immediately to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog. Professional Availability & Approach: I have recently moved back to the Hickory area and am open to taking on new clients. I prefer to discuss your specific needs and expectations upfront to ensure we are a mutual fit for a successful partnership. My philosophy is that a walk should be much more than a bathroom break—it is a vital source of fresh air, exercise, and mental stimulation. Whether your dog loves playing with a favorite toy or requires consistency with basic command training, I am happy to integrate those needs into our time together. I look forward to meeting your pet and building a meaningful bond. I have open availability right now! I am ready to take any dog or cat and meet with new clients we my availability has opened . My approach to drop-in visits is centered on environmental continuity and specialized feline safety. Because I only provide care within the client’s home, I ensure your cat’s or dogs routine remains undisturbed while prioritizing the security of your property.
About: I’ve been caring for animals for more than 30 years, starting with pet sitting for neighbors when I was in elementary school. While attending college in Raleigh, I expanded my pet sitting work and cared for multiple families with a wide range of pets and personalities. Before moving back to this area, I worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility, where I provided daily exercise, supervised play, administered medications—including insulin injections—and made sure each dog felt safe, comfortable, and cared for. My goal is simple: to give your pet dependable care, attention, and companionship while you’re away. Whether that means a walk, playtime, a midday potty break, or extra patience with senior pets, I treat every animal with the same kindness and attentiveness I’d want for my own. I understand that every pet has a different routine and comfort level, and I’m happy to follow your instructions closely so your pet feels secure, happy, and well cared for. I work remotely, so my daytime schedule is flexible and easy to plan around. My weekly routine is generally very consistent, which means I know my availability well in advance and can provide dependable walks, drop-in visits, and midday care without last-minute surprises. Pet care fits naturally into my day—I’m able to step away for walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, or medication visits while still keeping a reliable schedule for both pets and their owners. At this time, I’m not able to offer boarding in my home, but I take caring for pets in their own environment seriously. When I’m in your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would expect in my own. I always make sure doors are secure, water bowls are fresh, and pets are safe and comfortable before I leave. I also pay attention to small details—cleaning up any messes, checking that toys are safe, and moving anything that could pose a risk (for example, a torn stuffed toy that could be chewed apart). One of the best compliments I’ve received from a client came after a week-long house sit: they told me, “It never even looked like you were here.” That’s exactly the experience I aim to provide—reliable, attentive care for your pet, and complete peace of mind for you.
About: I am 27 year old business analyst looking for a part time job. I love pets and people so I thought this would be a great fit for me. I am a kind, determined young professional that is easy going, but also determined. I recently moved to the city from New York. In New York my parents have a golden retriever that I helped raise and look after. My roommates also had a cat on college that I helped assist. I look forward to this new opportunity and will be as polite and careful with your pets as possible. To me animals are like mini people that require a certain level of responsible. Thank you for the opportunity to look after your pets and work with you. I work from home and my schedule is very flexible. I am also mobile. I do have a job, but it is very flexible. Thank you. I have a fenced yard. My house is very clean and there are no hazardous materials or items around. I am very friendly and will treat your pets with the utmost kindness.
About: My name is Siera, I’m 26, I live in an apartment in Conover with my roommate Savannah. We have a big backyard for playing and there’s a nearby park. I love pet sitting and I need to make a little extra money for tuition and student loans. I am prepared to show your pups a loving and fun time. I can sit for a few types of pets including cats, dogs, reptiles, fish, as well as house sitting with basic household tasks. Willing to help as often as needed. I am willing to accommodate for special needs. I love to go on runs, so dog walking is right up my alley. Caring, loving and fun your fur babies will enjoy time and time again. Contact me if you have any questions. Thank you. I currently work in home with clients from 3:30-6:30 M-F. So I am not available for Pick Up during this time. Ask any additional questions as needed. I provide attentive, compassionate care tailored to each pet’s individual routine and needs. In my client’s home, I strive to maintain their normal schedule by providing fresh food and water, daily walks, exercise, playtime, medication administration (if needed), litter box or yard cleanup, and plenty of affection and companionship. I also keep the home tidy by cleaning up after pets, bringing in mail or packages, watering plants if requested, and ensuring the home remains secure while the owner is away. If caring for pets in my own home, I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with regular feeding, exercise, enrichment activities, and constant supervision. I treat every pet like family, paying close attention to their behavior and well-being to ensure they feel happy, comfortable, and loved throughout their stay. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind, knowing their pets are receiving reliable, personalized care.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 5 years old! I took 4-H animal care classes and passed. I’ve trained 3 dogs to full efficiency including a fully emotional support animal. I currently work from home meaning I have plenty of time to take care of any pets big or small! I insure your fury friend will never spend a moment alone. In my home I have a 1,000+ square feet of open play space. I have 2 fur babies of my own that are both crate trained to perfection. I live in a large sized town home that has lots of pet friendly places and is less than 5 minutes from dog parks and public parks. As well as I’m within walking distance of a University city walk!
About: With over 40 years of experience caring for animals and people—including work as a veterinary technician and a retired CNA/caregiver—I provide dependable, detail-oriented care you can trust. At Denney’s Den, dogs enjoy doggy Airbnb-style stays in my home- a calm, cozy, low-stress environment where they’re treated like family and given personalized attention while away from their hoomans. I also offer drop-in visits in your home, ensuring your pets receive consistent, compassionate care in the space they’re most comfortable. Since retiring from healthcare, caring for animals has become my full-time work. I am home most days, allowing me to provide hands-on attention, supervision, and a calm, structured routine for the pets in my care. My home offers a calm, safe environment with a large fenced yard and two friendly dogs. I intentionally limit the number of boarding dogs so each pet receives personalized attention. Crating is used only if preferred by the owner. For drop-in visits, I take great care to respect your home while ensuring your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine.
“Denise is fantastic and Bud looks forward to his walks with her. He is a country dog who moved to the city, and she is helping him acclimate to the new sights, smells and noises - and a much shorter leash. Thank you, Denise!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since i could walk and doing so is a huge passion of mine. I love walking, running, playing, cuddling with my Dog and i can’t wait to meet yours! I am athletic, energetic, and therefore love going out on walks, runs. I assure you great service and promise to treat others’ pets as if they were my very own. This is a huge responsibility which i know requires attentiveness. No Dog is too big, too small or too strong, As your walker will do my part while they are in my care. I look forward to meeting him or her! I am currently working from home! More than happy to keep your babies company. I like to be as accommodating as i can. At the end of the day, They are ALWAYS the priority. I have a designated park for dogs on the side of my building but I will ensure your dog is on leash always to ensure safety. Upon request, I have socialized and trained numerous dogs- I am more than happy to bring both or one of my dogs on walks or to the park. I also can have my dogs separated, Crated or off site if needed.

“Samantha did a great job boarding and caring for our Labrador Lizzie (8 years old and walks on 3 legs) while we were on vacation. We received pictures each day of Lizzie and she appeared to always be having a good time. I fully trust Samantha with our Lab and I'm definite we will be using her services again in the near future. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give Samantha a 15+... Her communication was great and I always felt Lizzie was well cared for and in safe hands.”

“Kellie is so caring and sweet!! I appreciate that she wanted to do a Meet and Great to see whether we were compatible and to get to know Boston a little before his couple of days stay. Kellie was very responsive and sent several very cute photos of Boston's stay to help put my mind at ease. I would definitely recommend Kellie!”

“Lawrence was an amazing find on Rover. I am so grateful to Gabby and Lawrence - they have such great energy. I felt so calm during my vacation because my dog was in a safe and loving space. Thank you for the time and care you both provided to Bacchus!”

“Cosmo had a few of his happiest days with Jessica, Doug and their family. He bonded with their pups and got to play chase and football on their spacious property. He’s already asking to hang out with Sky and George, their two pups, again! Jessica and Doug went out of their way to keep me updated with pictures. I felt at ease the whole time.”
