Esmeralda is wonderful with our golden retriever! She is calm, attentive, and engaging, gets in sync with his personality, and lets him enjoy being outside for an adventure, read the daily doggie news or just hang out listening to music. She is a professional when it comes to her canine care so we are confident when we leave our pup with her. Thank you Esmi!! 😁

About: Hi! I’m not just a pet sitter, I’m your pet’s second best friend (after you, of course)! I have hands on experience caring for dogs, cats, bunnies, and even fish. I understand that leaving your pet with someone is a big deal. My goal is to make you feel completely confident and your pet feels completely comfortable. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member! I am working another part-time job, so my availability is very open, and I have many hours of the day needed for clients and their pets. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I follow your pet’s routine closely, monitor behavior and health, and ensure doors, gates, and enclosures are always safely secured.

Aylia was extremely communicative, catered to our shy dogs needs, and responsible. I could tell she is used to working with skittish dogs and is willing to give them the space they need to feel safe. She did have an unforeseen emergency arise during our scheduled walks but she notified me quickly and Rover actually gave a credit for the trouble of finding a second sitter last minute. I would definitely rebook her if we need another walker!

About: Hi, I'm Julie Mae! I'm a Doctoral Candidate and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a deep love for animals. As the owner of my own behavioral consulting firm, I work remotely in the field of behavior, allowing me both experience and the flexibility of spending quality time with your pet while I work from your home. I have three senior rescue dogs of my own, each with unique needs. One struggles with incontinence and wears diapers, another is reactive and animal aggressive, so I’m experienced in handling dogs that can't be around each other, and my third is a low-maintenance cuddle bear. With my background, I understand the importance of tailored care for every pet. What I Offer: House sitting with remote work companionship Dog walking Drop-in visits Special care for senior or reactive dogs Why Choose Me? Doctoral Candidate and Board Certified Behavior Analyst Experienced with special needs pets Flexible and reliable remote worker Dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment I am available on select days to do multi-hour drop-ins in your home while I work. My schedule can vary depending on the needs of other clients so please inquire. I will not be providing services in my own home as one of my dogs has special needs. I can and will bring my small, friendly, social shih tzu to visit your dog if you'd like!

About: I’m a student looking to help out with some local pet care and housesitting while I'm Stanford student for pet care! home for the summer. I’m vegan, I live alone, and I genuinely love animals and have a lot of flexibility with my schedule right now, so I'm around to keep your pets company, stick to their regular routines, daily walks, and make sure everything is taken care of. I'll always send plenty of photo updates too so you know they're doing great. I've taken care of dogs and cats for family and friends over the last couple of years, so I'm super comfortable handling feedings, walks, and overnight stays! I’m home for the summer and my schedule is incredibly open and flexible right now. Since I don't work a typical 9-to-5, I have plenty of free time during the week and on weekends to hang out with your pets, stick to their routines, and make sure they're taken care of. Safety is the main thing for me. I always double-check locks and gates, follow whatever feeding or walking instructions you leave, and keep a close eye on them. I've watched dogs and cats for family and friends for the past two years, so I know how to keep everything clean and safe.

About: I’ve been an in-home house/pet sitter for 3 years now with some consistent and happy pet families. I am happy to stay in home, drop in, do walks, and I’m experienced with cats and any sized dog. I have classes 3 days/week in the mornings, and then work everyday for 3-5 hours in the afternoon. I have space in between those commitments. I put the animal’s needs first! I love to do their favorite things with them. Running, playing fetch, cuddling, going to the park, going on walks, etc.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 12,346 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Grabtown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Grabtown. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Grabtown.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Grabtown. On Rover:

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
