After our first meeting with Lisa, my husband and I and Khloe knew right away she was the perfect match! We would highly recommend her for house sitting as well as drop in or walks! Thank you again Lisa for taking such great care of Khloe and she can't wait for your next stay!”

“Cassie did a wonderful job taking care of our 2 labs and 1 cat while we were away on vacation and made sure the house stayed in good working order! She stayed in constant communication and was swift with her reply! She gave us peace of mind knowing our pets where being well taken care for which allowed us to enjoy our vacation!”

Leah was amazing! She took great care of our fur daughter and sent pictures and updates. Leah also left our home in clean condition. She kindly went back after work on her last day to feed and check on Rainier because our flight was landing later than planned. We highly recommend Leah!

Daria did a great job looking after my Frenchie! She truly loves and cares for animals and pays attention to details. She even stayed on to make sure my pup did not have to wait too long for us returning from airport. My house was left neat and I received regular photos and updates! Will definitely book Daria again

Zoe is THE BEST! She stayed at our home with our pets for a 2 week trip out of the country for our wedding and honeymoon. During that time our cat Frederick had a pretty severe accident that required emergency vet care. Zoe and her husband Jerin were on their way to the vet with Frederick in less than 10 minutes after they discovered his injury. Frederick ended up needing immediate surgery and an overnight stay. They picked him up the next day and then provided amazing aftercare for the remaining week we were gone. Zoe made it possible for us to enjoy our wedding and time after with minimal worry. She truly cared for our pets and especially Frederick with gentleness and compassion. She kept us updated on his recovery and sent picture of him looking quite content and comfortable. This is our 5th time hiring Zoe and her calm and clear head during a scary incident has cemented her as our #1 choice for a house/pet sitter.

Nothing short of amazing. Is there a 10 star option for the extra happy client? You always get worried about your fur babies. I could tell the first conversation we had to the last before he came to watch our three girls for the afternoon - through late night on 8/8, he would be a perfect match for our girls. The backstory. We live in Wyoming and we came to Washington to see my husbands 92 yo parents. Well we needed a small break so decided to get a hotel and try Rover. We booked a hotel and did the request for an in Hotel Dog sitter. Not exactly conventional, but with great communication from Jace he was willing to come and take care of our 3 Boston Terriers, Magoo, Opie and Pandie. He was very professional, informative, kept you in the loop of arrival time and sure seemed excited to meet our girls and help us out. Since it probably wasn’t a typical booking, when he arrived at hotel, after they were so excited to meet someone knew and showered him with kisses, paws, and their presence, I had him hook up leashes, while having him solely hold leashes and walk them to get a feel of how they walk together and how one pulls a bit more. We walked to the dog relief area, gave a couple tips and little signs to watch for to help them keep task on hand. I could tell he was relaxed and comfortable immediately , gave the words he was good and ready. Note: My 3 girls were very warm and welcoming and competing for his attention. Dogs know! They sensed Jace was one of the “Good Guys”and just wanted scratches and be with him. If they could have spoke it would have been “when are you leaving?” to us. Like they couldn’t wait for the “fun babysitter” as their “new found friend” had arrived. We left for ferry to catch a “Mariners Game” 8/8/25. It was a late 6:40 game and he was understanding it may run later, which this one didn’t at all, but was flexible. Jace sent pictures of them on the leashes together outside the room, and hanging out in the hotel room. Kept me updated on when he took them out and back and could tell he not only cared about us as a client, but the 3 dogs we had as well. When we arrived, they were all snuggled for the long haul watching a movie, They were surprised to see us and happy, but they were totally content hanging out with their new found friend. Long explanation of our experience I know. But if you care who you invite to your house, or walk your dogs, or staying in communication with pictures, this is your guy! A pleasant, respectful, young man that you can tell he really enjoys what he does and we were sure glad we found him! Thanks Jace, looking forward to another day/evening before we head back to Wyoming. I will always keep you in mind for our frequent visits to our 92 year old parents who could never do what Jace did for us this evening. Thank you!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gorst walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gorst maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gorst choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
