“Morgan was awesome! So awesome that when I got home from my trip my cat had learned how to speak English so he could tell me how awesome she was and how she not only fed him, played with him, and gave him his treats, but how he was mildly disappointed with me returning because he enjoyed her company so much! She’s now hopefully gonna be my go-to whenever I’m traveling!”

“Benjamin did an excellent job with our timid pup! He was on time for every visit, sent us great pictures and updates and won her over. He even hand fed her when she wasn’t eating much. We will definitely use him again!”

“Kim is just the best and now an honorary member of our family! She provides excellent care and communication and it made our travel so much easier knowing that she was taking care of our furballs. She is highly recommended.”

About: I have experience working with everything from dogs and cats to turtles and rabbits! I have worked in animal shelters, zoos, and animal sanctuaries. Herpetology is my passion and I would love to shower any pets in your home with love! I work part time with flexible hours that vary week to week to accommodate your schedule! I am available for drop-ins every day and for boarding most weeks. While I have several fish tanks and scaly friends in my home, I do not have any furry friends of my own, making your pet top priority! I have a small fenced in yard and have a dog park right next door.
“This was our first time using Rover. Riley was helpful in explaining how it worked. She watched our cat for several visits for two days. For each visit she sent information on how the visit went. Unfortunately our kitty would run and hide after greeting her so she couldn’t get many pictures. She even went and found him and sat trying to convince him to come out! He ate well during her visits and she was kind to clean up the dirty cat bowls each time! It’s also very comforting knowing Riley has experience working in a vet clinic.”

“Carleen was amazing! She took care of my pet for weeks on very short notice, she would send me updates and she made me feel my pet was safe in her care. She went above and beyond any of my expectations”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was seven years old. My family had two kittens that I cared for and I was responsible for pet sitting other fur babies in the neighborhood growing up. I also attended many animal science/nature camps growing up, it’s where I got my first hermit crab! I also know the Heimlich maneuver for both cats and dogs. In my junior year of high school I applied and was accepted to the HOSA veterinary science program where I graduated in the National Honors Society. Shortly after graduation, I started working at a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant. My job was to help restrain animals for exams/shots, organize medications, prepare/read fecal slides and determine if intestinal parasites are present, collect urine samples, and provide basic care. Overall I have had personal experience caring for dogs/puppies, cats/kittens, goats, horses, hamsters, chickens/chicks, pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, ferrets, chinchillas, birds, lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles, hermit crabs, and axolotls. I am currently a student in nursing school and am working as a part time server. I only have classes two days a week on Monday (6 AM - 6 PM) and Tuesday (8:30 AM - 11:15 AM) and work a couple hours 2 evenings a week, but can take off if needed for services. I like to learn about their daily routine and what they like to do for fun so and incorporate those things into our routine while clients are gone, so pets feel safe and relaxed while their family isn’t there.
“Kelly did a great job with our 3 cats while we were away. Since two of them refuse to come out when anyone comes over, she had to do most of the work unseen and unappreciated. Thanks so much, Kelly!”

About: Hello! My name is Kate and I want to meet your pet! I have a seven year old Australian Shepherd who might be the love of my life (don't tell my husband!) I have grown up around dogs but have also taken care of cats and guinea pigs. In all seriousness, I live in the Goochland/Short Pump area and offer pet walking during the day. I'm a super active person who works from home and has the time to commit to make sure your pet is well taken care of! My first dog (a Westie) lived to be almost 17 and by the end of his life, needed a variety of medicines throughout the day and so that is another service that I can offer. I hope to meet you and your furry friend soon! I work from home starting late morning and also typically go to the park everyday after work (depending on the weather). I am available before work, during lunch, and after work. I make sure that your pet has plenty of water and play time before I leave the visit! I always make sure your pet is comfortable and we can play as much as they want!

“Alexandra took such good care of my brand new puppy and was such a good sport. Can’t express how thankful I am for how much help she was. My pup loved her and it was awesome to find someone I could trust entirely!”

About: Hey, my name is Erin! I’ve had my own animals my entire life, but I also have 4 years of dog training professionally. I worked for the company Dogtopia (a great dog daycare/boarding facility) as a canine coach and assistant manager. I worked hands on in the room with the dogs during open play, and one on one in grooming and training sessions. Unfortunately, my husband travels for work so a traditional 9-5 doesn’t always work for me, hence finding my own lane with Rover! I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friend. :) I work from home remotely part time as a paralegal, and outside of that I am a stay at home wife. Pet care fits seamlessly into my life and I am open to working with clients to help accommodate special time needs. I cannot accommodate watching your pup at my own home because I have my own rescue who does not want to share the space. Thank you for understanding!
