“Sharon quickly learned the unique personalities of our 2 dachshunds and easily bonded with each of them. She gave them each quality time focused on their favorite activities. The pictures she shared with us tell the story. Bruno and Sally were in good hands with Sharon.”

About: For a year, I walked my neighbor's Cavalier King Charles spaniel while she was recovering from a hip injury, until she could walk better. She and her daughter greatly appreciated my help and have said to me that their dog Cooper has been so much happier ever since he met me. I am a college student that goes to school 5 days a week from 7am to 2 pm. I can do early morning walks before 7am since I am a morning person, and I can do walks or come over after class. I am free on most weekends. I am free most of the time in the summer from June to August. I cannot bring pets into my home since I have two cats that are not very pet-friendly. But I can do all the care you need me to do at your house.
About: I've been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember, and I have experience with dogs and cats of all kinds. I have a deep respect for all animals, including those that are shy or have special needs, and I'm committed to giving every animal the care they deserve. I'm available on most weekends and holidays. I occasionally have weekdays open as my work schedule allows and I will have Fridays available for part of the summer. When introducing myself I allow the animal to approach me first, I take things slow if they're shy or nervous. I'm familiar with dog and cat body language so I can recognize signs of stress. When walking dogs I'm always aware of my surroundings and will adjust the route if I need to.
“This is our second time using Sara and I know when we are away I don't have to worry about our kitties - she takes great care of them and our house is always in great shape when we come back as well. Thank you Sara!!”

“Eleanor is terrific! She was very conscientious about knowing how to administer my cats’ medicines. When I returned from my trip, my house was as orderly as when I left it. Most importantly, she has a real affinity for animals. My cats loved her. One of them is very reserved but I could tell from the notes and pictures she posted on Rover that he warmed up to her very quickly. I felt very comfortable having left my cats in her capable hands.”

“Caiti is great! I had never left my dog alone for more than 1 overnight before and I was really nervous about it, but Caiti was patient (with both me AND the dog haha), sent me tons of updates and I came home to a happy and well taken care of pup. Thanks, Caiti!”

“Sophia did an amazing job watching my 2 dogs! She sent detailed updates, lots of photos, and went above and beyond to make sure they felt comfortable while I was gone for 10 days. She maintained a high level of communication and I never had to worry. I highly recommend her for taking care of any pet you need!”

“Amanda was great! We wanted the dogs to get exercise and be tired and she did just that: played fetch the whole time! She has an Aussie herself so we had no doubts she knew what she was doing. Will definitely book again!”

“Natasha did a great job with our kitties! This was our first time using the Rover app and we were a little nervous about it, but Natasha sent us updates that put us at the ease (including letting us know when we had packages delivered) and we came home to happy kitties. We will definitely reach out to her the next time we need a sitter.”

“Hannah was absolutely wonderful with our kitten, Daley! We were extremely nervous to leave him alone for a week, but he opened right up to Hannah which showed how compassionate she was!”

“Merissa and Nick are the best pet sitters I have ever had, because they care and go above and beyond!! Besides the very helpful daily updates on my cat’s food, drink, litter box usage and general behavior, they sent me some of the greatest photos and videos of Hodge, many showing them playing with my very social fur baby. When I returned home after a 10-day trip, the house was immaculate and my mail and newspapers were neatly piled up on the kitchen counter. I knew that with Merissa and Nick my cat was getting the best care possible and was very happy, which gave me complete peace of mind to enjoy my vacation.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glenmont
Alison was very helpful with a short notice check in with our pups. We were out for a while and it helped knowing that someone was coming by to check in. We received pics and a video and Alison texted before she left to make sure we didn't need anything else.

There is no one I trust my pets (cat and dog) with more than Freedom. I can tell she cares deeply for them and goes above and beyond to make sure they are taken care of. I highly recommend her to take care of your fur babies whenever you need someone you can trust!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
