“Huge huge huge shout out to MacKenzie for watching my pups while I was out of town! I just moved up here and was a little worried about being away from the new place/state and leaving the dogs up here in the meantime. However, MacKenzie just seemed trustworthy, cool, and kind, and I was right! Not only did she want to make sure she did a good job and followed their schedules and everything to a T, she also just loved and cared about them instantly. What really sold MacKenzie as just being a rockstar was her willingness to work with my one dog who has major stranger danger and takes a bit to trust especially with females. MacKenzie did what she could and spent a lot of time focusing on his comfortability and building his trust with her while still ensuring my other dog got her attention and love as well. Throughout the visits, MacKenzie gave me numerous photos and videos as well as updates from all her visits. I am truly grateful to have had her help and her love and care for my animals while I was away. I will 100% be using MacKenzie from here on out for my animal’s care!”

About: I've been a foster and pet sitter for mostly greyhounds for the past 20 years, and have always had dogs of my own. I've gone through obedience classes and grooming, and am pretty good with most temperaments. I am very available and flexible, since I'm retired. I can come by during the day, including weekends and holidays, whatever works for you and your pet. Please note that I accept in-home stays that are a minimum of two nights. I can come to your home and stay, or visit to let your dog out, walk, or feed. Safety is a big factor and I'll do my best!

“We had a great experience with Bhavneet! Very reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about our cat’s well-being. We loved getting detailed updates and photos during each visit, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. One of our cats can be shy, but she was patient, gentle, and took the time to make sure our cat was comfortable and fed. We came home to happy, relaxed cats, which says everything. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter.”

“Alexandra is awesome and deserves the abundance of 5 star reviews she already has! I NEVER feel comfortable letting anyone walk my reactive dogs but I knew within a couple minutes of meeting her that I could trust her to keep my babies safe on a walk even with other dogs around. She also takes fantastic pictures and I loved getting to see my happy dogs on walks with her.”

About: Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! 😊 A little bit about me and why I might be a good fit for your family: I’m Pet CPR & First Aid certified, which means any pet’s well-being is always my top priority and you can feel confident they’re in capable hands. I also have experience administering oral medications as well! I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, and comfort needs so they feel safe, relaxed, and loved while you are away. Whether that means high-energy playtime, long walks, medication schedules, or quiet cuddle time, I adapt to what makes pets happiest. Thank you for trusting me with your fur babies!☺️🐶🐱 Pet care fits well into my routine alongside my career as an elementary school teacher. I work Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, which means I’m available for morning check-ins, afternoon/evening care, overnight stays, and weekend bookings. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications, and any special care needs. I know pets are most comfortable in familiar environments, so I make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and companionship while their owners are away. I’m respectful, clean, and dependable in every home I visit, and I always keep pet parents updated with photos and messages for peace of mind. My goal is always to make your pets feel cared for, happy, and at home.

About: Love to give dogs lots of attention and affection. Coupled with the ability to be stern if needed, I am able to take care of many types of dogs. I live an active life and will have no problem walking your dog as much as needed. I spent many years training and caring for our family dog. I have lived with roommates with dogs and had no issues caring for them even when the roommate was not away. While living with a roommate, they had their own rover account and I would help take care of any dog that would come over. I have pretty open availability and willing to travel to most places within 10-15 miles of downtown baltimore. Please reach out to me with any questions or requests and I will try to accommodate.
“Kyle has been amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable and caring, and always goes the extra mile on walks. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for someone to hang with their pup throughout the day.”

“Rico is terrific with our two Irish Red & White Setters. He is attentive, caring, reliable and trustworthy. Rico is quickly becoming part of our ohana. We'd be lost without him!”

About: Hi there! My name has since changed to *Romeo* as I am queer :) Ive had experience with all sorts of animals since I was a young! My heart however has always lied with dogs. Ive lived with, trained, and taken care of dogs from age 15. Professionally, I am currently a counselor at Camp Bow Wow! I’ve been working there for over a year now, learning and applying a wide range of skills. In this role I’ve learned some key skills on how to ensure companions are safe and happy: 1. Body language: I observe everything from your dog’s head to tail to minimize reactivity due to human- animal misunderstandings 2. Health indicators: although I’m not a vet, I was trained to recognize irregular symptoms a dog may be displaying such as stool texture and consistency, body temperature, excessive panting and drooling, gum color, etc. Anything your dog may be struggling with from itchy skin to something greater, I’ll notify you right away! 3. Communication: parents love hearing about their babies and seeing them happy and comfortable! By regular communication, this allows me to get clear instructions to follow, assess any changes needed in care or routine, and stay up to date in case of any rapid changes or emergencies. In addition, what sets me apart is my artistic attention to detail, which allows me to adapt to your dogs needs in a creative way. I like to challenge myself by finding ways to stimulate and enrich your dog while you are away! I’m very relaxed, quiet, and easygoing, but also spontaneous and go-with-the-flow should your dog get the zoomies! I’ll get mine out with him :) Lastly, I respect peoples spaces/ privacy and always clean up behind myself after using something in your space. I'd love to give your dog my unconditional love and undivided attention. Your baby is not just a pet, they are our best friends who depend on us. So Relax while you’re away, and leave the fun stuff to me! Looking for regular/ recurring clients :) I currently work part time on weekdays, twice a day for up to 7 hours. This is subject to change within the next few weeks to ensure I have time to House sit efficiently. Please reach out to me with questions about this, and I’d be happy to negotiate! I love being outside, especially in the company of some furry friends. I understand that your dog may either be a nature pet or a couch potato, and I'm able to adapt to your pets needs depending on their personality. I'm clean, quiet, and active when need be. Cleanliness is a priority for me. Cleaning up waste properly and right away is a must, including picking up poop during walks.

About: I have been caring for animals my whole life. I grew up with three dogs in my childhood home, and have always been the go-to pet sitter for friends and family. I currently have a sweet cat of my own and have experience caring for dogs, cats, bunnies, and some smaller creatures as well! I have experience providing overnights, vacations, and occasional check-ins for walks, play time, feeding, etc. I love all types of animals and have cared for many different kinds of breeds/sizes of pets. I currently work on weekdays 8:30am-4pm and am available on evenings and weekends for pet care! I offer in home pet care for overnights, vacations, and occasional check ins for walks/play time/feeding. I offer pet care services in the client’s home. My current lease does not allow for outside animals in my home. I have a strong attention to detail, and will make sure to keep litter boxes, feeding, and play areas clean. I also prefer having pet care services in the client’s home, as I find your pets feel more comfortable and safer in their own familiar environment. I find it important to build a trusting relationship with both the client and pet(s). I will always value communication and trust, and I am happy to provide any type of updates the client prefers!
About: Hi, my name is Lindsay and I’m an animal lover through and through. I grew up in a cat‑loving family with the most adorable tabby and Persian cats. One of our Persians, Sweetie, was especially close to me. She passed away a few years ago, and losing her truly broke my heart—she was with me for so long and gave me so many wonderful memories. I also spend a lot of time with my family’s dogs—a brown Labrador, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and a pair of Boston Terriers—and I always make sure to play with them whenever we’re together. Back in high school, my mom, sister, and I volunteered at our local humane society. We cleaned kennels and litter boxes, played with the animals, and gave them the affection and company they needed. I’ve also cared for many of my family’s and friends’ cats and dogs over the years, and there has never been a dull moment. Pets bring so much joy. A little about me: I love hiking, doodling, drinking coffee, playing mobile games, reading, and traveling. I enjoy spending time with my family, good friends, and—of course—fur babies. I’m flexible, easygoing, and always happy to hang out with pets who need love and attention. I can’t wait to meet your fur babies and give them all the care and affection they deserve. I work part‑time from home, which gives me lots of flexibility to care for your fur babies. I offer weekend boarding and weekday availability after my work hours. My yard is fully fenced and secure, giving your fur baby a safe place to play. My neighborhood has lots of sidewalks, so your pet will enjoy calm walks right outside my home.
“I'm a repeated Neka fan, he's always so accommodating, communicative, and does such a good job taking care of the cats and house. I've reviewed him twice already with 5 stars and I will continue to do it over and over because he is my ride or die.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Gates Center
She did a great job giving all our cats attention, even the difficult ones. Made sure to keep a watchful eye during meal times so food wasn’t stolen by other cats. Did a great job of cleaning litter boxes and food dishes daily. Went above and beyond and watered our flowers while we were gone. Will definitely plan to use again the next time we go out of town. Did a great job of capturing this pictures of all cats at each visit.

Kate was absolutely fantastic. Our cat Millie got sick right before we were leaving for vacation, and Kate jumped right in on short notice. She went above and beyond, giving daily pills and other meds based on how Millie was doing. She was always responsive and kept us updated. We will absolutely use Kate again and highly recommend her!

Squeaker and Ariel were happy to see Wei arrive every morning and evening while I was away, especially when it was time for treats and, for Squeaker, brushing his coat. Ariel apologizes for her hissing, she takes a while to show her friendly feline nature! It was nice to see photos of my cats while I was away. Wei was proactive in dealing with issues by maintaining communication while I was out of the country.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
