“Cal and Kris were great and went above and beyond! Dozer seemed so happy to spend time with them, they rolled with the punches (regarding some schedule changes), were very responsive and overall so kind!! Cannot recommend enough!”

“Cassandra was so wonderful - she always sent me plenty of pictures and even helped me when I needed a last minute visit due to an emergency! Thank you so much for giving such amazing care to my kitties!!”

“I couldn't have chosen a better sitter than Margo! She was so wonderful with my senior cat. She went above and beyond, cleaning up her after her and even taking out her litter bags to the trash. I will definitely hire Margo again whenever I need someone I trust to take care of my girl.”

“Colleen was amazing! She is the definition of going above and beyond. Blu had an amazing time playing and site seeing. Colleen even cleaned Blu’s bowls out when she was done which was very appreciative. 10/10 sitter, we can’t wait to request her services again!”

“Alana was fantastic for our vacation week! She communicated details and photos on every visit 3x per day, putting my mind at ease that my fur baby was receiving excellent care and attention. This was our first time using an at-home dog sitter, thank you Alana for the best experience. Will definitely contact again for a few dates. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi! My name is Dante and I absolutely love dogs. I do not treat this as a job but as a privilege to take care of pets. I have always had a pet in my household, so I am very comfortable with dogs. I am young and promise I will have just as much energy as your dog does. I am very good at butt scratches and belly rubs. I will be prepared for any situation and I am very easy to contact. I understand plans get altered and I am flexible with changing schedules. I will treat your dog as I treat mine and make sure everything is done to the best of my ability. I hope you allow me to make your dog’s day the absolute best I can. Thank you
“We have had Jordan sit for our cats (and fish!) three times now and she is absolutely the best! She communicates with us right away if there are any concerns or issues and she sends great updates about our fur babies. I trust they are in wonderful hands with her!”

About: I grew up with rabbits and various small pets. My first dog, Toto, was trained by me in elementary and middle school. Now, I spend my evenings caring for others animals whenever possible! I work 7:30 am to 3 pm as a teacher! My day does allow for a mid day visit, distance depending! Free every evening for walks and lots of attention! Experienced with crate trained dogs and more free range styles. Love building trust with animals and keeping their days typical and calm while their owners are away!
“HIGHLY recommend. Came home to a really sweet note with treats for the lil dude and got daily cute cat pics throughout the week. Never used a sitter before and was nervous but Cara made it so easy and Chewie had a blast!”

“Amanda was an awesome drop in for our our cat! She was punctual, kind and gave Kitty her medication like a pro. We will absolutely be using for drop ins again soon!”
“Thank you for taking such great care of Lady! We could tell by the pictures provided that she had a great time playing in the backyard and she looks forward to hanging out with you again soon!”

“Linda is amazing beyond words! We feel very blessed to have found such a reliable and understanding sitter. Our cat is a Bengal, full of energy, and needs his playtime. Linda has done such a wonderful job playing and interacting with him during her visits, my cat really enjoys her company (and he’s not easy to impress!). Believe me, you won’t be disappointed if you hire her!”
“Eleanor did an amazing job taking care of our cat Jax that is facing kidney issues. Jax requires multiple oral medicines as well as an IV injection daily, neither of which he is a fan of, but Eleanor was able to swaddle him, administer his medicines, and make it as painless as possible. Would definitely recommend.”

“Matthew provided excellent care for our two cats. He posted daily photos, which I greatly looked forward to each day while on vacation. He has excellent communication skills, and I know my cats will miss him! I would definitely recommend his services to any other cat owner that is looking for a cat sitter!”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life! All different kinds and sizes! I’m at school now and missing my dogs and looking to make a little money. Very flexible with pay! just adjusted from rovers recommended Very Flexible! I’m currently starting my sophomore year of college and looking to do some side work to make a little money. My classes and times are various in different days of the week but am trying to do any walks on my time off. Open for doing a lot of services! I am mostly looking to do just walks but if i need to enter a home i will do it with all respect and joy.
About: I’ve had a dog since I was 7 years old who recently passed away. I live with my parents who are also fellow animal lovers and love when I pet-sit for friends. It brings life and fun to our household to host your furry friends. I currently work part time waitressing a few nights a week nearby. I am off weekends so I have all that time carved out to take care of pets! I have an unfenced, medium sized open field directly across from my condominium building I can take your pet for potty breaks and play time. I can keep them leashed for their safety. My parents, who I live with, are fellow animal lovers who love spending time with animals. I have a lazy cat who spends most of the day sleeping, but he lives upstairs in our split unit with my parents. My unit is entirely separate from where he resides, so if your pet doesn’t like cats, it’s no problem!

I couldn't have chosen a better sitter than Margo! She was so wonderful with my senior cat. She went above and beyond, cleaning up her after her and even taking out her litter bags to the trash. I will definitely hire Margo again whenever I need someone I trust to take care of my girl.

Great experience. I have two dogs that cannot get along and are isolated from one another. Don’t hate me but they are rescues. Z managed to feed them let them out with no incidence. Z was respectful of my home and I never let a person here without me. Z took care of my babies like Z’s own. Highly recommend.
Lily was so responsible and sweet with our dogs. We couldn't have left our precious pups in better hands and she was so conscientious in feeding them, walking them, taking photos, and even administering medication. We were so reassured by her responsible and thoughtful updates and hope that even more people will get to experience her wonderful service in future!

Marissa is exceptional she took our 7 day appointment last minute and was very understanding and communicative. We were very skeptical at first using a service one to watch our puppy and two having someone coming in our home while we weren’t there. Marissa communicated every day as well as sent pictures. She definitely went over and beyond with our puppy “Buddy”, She bathed him, took care of his play pen area as we would. Im very thankful for Marissa and clearly Buddy enjoyed her as well.

Margaret did a fantastic job checking in on our kitty while we were away for a week, making sure he got all the attention and playtime he needs. I loved receiving the detailed notes and pictures after each check-in! We will be reaching out to her again when we travel, for sure 😊

From a Husky Owner: Finding the right dog sitter is crucial for a Husky owner. Huskies are known for their high energy, need for consistent training, and strong prey drive. Therefore, Ryan was highly appreciated! He understood that a Leo needed more than a just short walk by automatically volunteering an extended walk tailoring to include vigorous exercise allowing my dog to burn his energy. The ability to manage leash manners and maintain attention, even with distractions, was impressive, as Huskies can be very independent on walks. Ryan asked about Leo’s training leash techniques and reviewed modeling the leash behavior. In addition to physical activity, Ryan showed commitment to mental stimulation for Leo. Puzzle toys and an intense play session kept Leo’s mind occupied, which helped prevent any destructive behaviors that can arise from boredom in Huskies. Training commands were also reinforced consistently, which is important for this breed. There was also excellent communication from Ryan during my time away! Knowing that Leo was well-cared for, happy, and engaged made my trip more relaxing and worry free! I’d highly recommend Ryan as your next dog sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
