If the dog has any specific needs or medical conditions, I ensure these are addressed before the walk. Safe Equipment: I use well-fitting harnesses or collars and sturdy leashes to prevent any accidents or escapes. I also carry waste bags and water to keep the walk clean and hydrated. During the Walk:Controlled Environment: I choose safe and secure routes, avoiding areas with heavy traffic or potential hazards. I maintain control of the dog at all times, ensuring they don’t approach other animals or run off. Behavior Monitoring: I observe the dog’s behavior to ensure they are comfortable and not overstressed. I make adjustments to the walk pace or duration based on the dog’s needs and energy level. Post-Walk Care:Cool Down and Hydration: After the walk, I offer the dog a chance to cool down and drink water. I also check for any signs of discomfort or injuries. Feedback: I communicate with the pet owner about the walk, including any observations or changes in the dog’s behavior.In both my home and the client’s home, I ensure that the environment is safe and welcoming for the dog.
