“Kristen was the perfect sitter for our animals, she’s super responsive, easy to coordinate with and provides tons of photo updates. We were totally comfortable the whole time we were away from our animals, will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Tim is absolutely the best! The dogs love him and we have total peace of mind when we have to go away. We missed our flight home and had to extend by a day and having Tim with our dogs gave us one less thing to worry about. I would go so far as to say that we are actually considering planning our next vacation around Tim's availability. 100% recommend.”

“Highly recommend Jessica and Kayla. They went above and beyond watching over all our animals on our recent trip! Even saved the toads from the pool filter! Great job, and keep up the good work ladies!”

“So happy we found Nicole. I don’t leave my dog often because he’s old and sick so I get really stressed, but she made me feel so much better about leaving. Daily pics & texts of her with Cosmo! I came back to him excited and energized. Highly recommend :)”

“My wife and I feel so lucky to have found Isabella to look after our pups. She has great energy and our dogs love her. She was prompt, considerate and easy to communicate with. We will absolutely book her for house/pet sitting in the future.”

About: I have grown up around dogs and I have had dogs since I was 8 years old. A lot of my family members have dogs and lots of my neighbors have dogs, so I have helped out when they have needed someone to walk and/or feed their dogs. I am currently home from college for the summer, so I am free to help care for your pet between 11am-5pm, all 7 days a week. My family has three dogs, so I know how to keep your pet safe while in my care. I also am well knowledged on how to keep them safe while on a walk, or playing in the park,

“Kelly and Kava were absolute amazing house guests. Kelly took such amazing care of my babies and my house. My oldest is 16 and needs a little help here and there ans my younger dog is a bit reserved and quirky. Kelly was able to meet the needs of both of my very different (but loving) girls. Plus Kava is such a sweetheart and was gentle with my old pup and got along great with my younger dog. Will be booking with Kelly again in the future 100%.”
“I will admit, I was a nervous. This was the first time I left my babies with anyone. Maysa made me feel extremely comfortable. She was so calming that my nervous Gigi snuggled right up to her. I would highly recommend Maysa to anyone looking to have someone care for their pet like it was her own.”
“Since I am retired, my two cats are accustomed to me being at home most of the time, so I was a reluctant to leave them alone for ten days with a pet sitter just coming in a couple times a day to feed them. So, Mary S. was a house sitter as well as a pet sitter while I was gone. Both cats were very content upon my return, which I attribute to the care and attention they received from Mary S. I recommend her highly and would use her again in a heartbeat.”

“Craig took care of our 4 dogs in our home for several days. Craig took great care of our babies while we were gone. We received pictures and feedback and he took great care with our home as well! Highly recommend Craig and would use him again!”

“Seth stepped up when our house sitter for the holidays dropped out 5 days before our flight. He was very flexible on our meet and greet and hit it off with Hazel quicky with some treats. Seth provided updates on Hazel during the two weeks we were gone, including videos from the park. He communicated well. During his sit, he identified that Hazel's ears were bothering her and sought out the medicated cleaning wipes we keep on hand. When we got home, the house was clean and Hazel was excited. It was clear she had gotten plenty of attention and exercise.”

“Kristen did a very nice job housesitting and caring for our dog Sasha. Kristen was easy to engage, very communicative, and very responsible. I give her five stars! We will be using her again.”

About: My family and I are Christians. I was making plans to get my son a dog once he started working this summer. His big sister, who is now 20, worked at Ripleys Aquarium before she joined the Airforce a year ago. He wants a job there this summer just so he can learn more about animals. He is a natural around dogs and other animals. He is an honor role student who wants to be a vet one day. While I was out walking in my neighborhood, I ran into a sweet lady who told us about Rover.com. I thought how perfect is that. We get the love and warmth of a dog, and I will be able to teach my beloved son about responsibility and helping others. Your dog will get the love and care that you would expect and will be completely safe with us. The last dog I owned was a Staffordshire Terrier. We loved him. His resting place is in my home Bermuda.
“Tracey was very attentive to my senior dog’s needs. She took extra time and care each time she came to visit, and on the overnights. It is hard to find someone that understands all of an owner’s concerns, and it puts our minds at ease knowing that the caregiver is treating them as if they were their own. Tracey is that caring person.”

“Paris is an exceptional pet sitter who is caring, playful with our pups, punctual, polite, and trustworthy. We were lucky to find her during our vacation at Myrtle Beach. She even recommended an awesome restaurant!! Don’t hesitate to book with her, she’s the best!”

“My dogs love Kristin! I have a picky doodle with anxiety, he did amazing with Kristin. My chubby beagle loved her too! She sent a lot of pictures and texts to help me feel extra secure and relaxed on my vacation! My house and pups were very well taken care of. I will definitely use Kristin again!”

“Alyssa was a great sitter! You can tell how much she loves animals! Excellent communication and photo updates. The house was spotless when we got home. Would definitely book again! Thank you!”

About: I treat every pet like they’re my own. I’m comfortable with everything from playful puppies who need consistency and basic training, to senior pets who need a slower pace and a little extra care. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and comfort so your pet feels secure and happy while you’re away. Pet care fits easily into my routine. I have class two days a week, but I’m available in between classes and afterward. I work five days a week, but I’m consistently available after 3 PM as well as on weekends. I’m able to maintain reliable, consistent care and adjust my schedule to meet your pet’s needs. I provide care in your pet’s home so they can stay comfortable in their own environment. During visits or walks, I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible—this includes feeding, fresh water, exercise, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. I also make sure your pet gets plenty of attention and care while keeping your home clean and secure.
About: I am a previous dog owner of 16 years. I unfortunately lost them both a few years back and looking for a dog to walk or sit with as this would fill my heart! They do truly bring me joy. I am currently a dog walker for one other dog in my neighborhood. I am a current p/t caregiver for my dad with dementia and I am looking for a p/t job as a walker or dog sitter. This is great therapy for me. I love being outside and I love to walk. I am a compassionate and patient person with animals and with people that are looking for help. If I am in another person’s home, I would treat their pet and their home as if it were my own. I am willing to play with your pet, walk and give treats and food as needed.
Garden City pet parents share their Rover experiences
Kelly took care of our my 13yr terrier Owen over 4 days. This was my first time arranging housesitting through Rover, and I would highly recommend Kelly. She is a very caring person who I found easy to trust to care for my Owen and our home. We had an unexpected event that Owen's older sibling(Bevin) passed away a day before Kelly was to arrive. At the age of 14.5 years, Bevin was slowing down and had been losing weight over the past months. Kelly couldn't have been more supportive to both myself and Owen in our grief of her passing. Owen especially enjoyed the company on her dog Kava, who is very sweet and friendly. It was a good that he found a buddy with Kava. While I was away, Kelly kept me well updated with photos and messages. Upon her departure she also left the house spotless. I am forever thankful to both Kelly and Kava for helping ease the transition after our loss. I highly recommend her, especially if you have older dogs like my own. Kelly is top my list for future pet sitting whenever her schedule fits ours!

I was looking last minute for someone to stay in my home with my little pooch and kitty. This was a last minute request and Alyssa was able to accommodate us. I was thrilled because my little pup is very anxious and taking her out of her home would not have been good for her. I will definitely be using Alyssa again in the future for our trips when we have to leave the pup and kitty at home.

We have a 3 year old Havanese that is a rescue and very skittish. Kristin was immediately able to win him over. It's easy to tell that Kristen loves animals and animals love her. Also, we were gone a week and came back to a house totally clean and you would never know Kristen was here, except for the loving photos of her and our dog Ducky. Highly Recommended.

"Aunt" Sydnee is the best sitter I could ask for! She's a true dog lover, a great communicator and treated my dog as her own. She is so sweet and had no problems following Lucy's care instructions (I'm kind of particular). She even administered Lucy's eye drops when needed. Lucy especially enjoyed her snuggles on the bed, their walks together, tummy skritches, and an occasional pup cup too! 😁 Sydnee's a top notch sitter and I won't hesitate to have her sit for us again.

Since I am retired, my two cats are accustomed to me being at home most of the time, so I was a reluctant to leave them alone for ten days with a pet sitter just coming in a couple times a day to feed them. So, Mary S. was a house sitter as well as a pet sitter while I was gone. Both cats were very content upon my return, which I attribute to the care and attention they received from Mary S. Victoria was great! She made us feel so comfortable from the moment that we met her. We had never used Rover and were a bit apprehensive to have someone stay in our home. It turned out to be the best decision for our bulldog Doc and for us! We were so at ease during our trip as Victoria sent regular updates and pictures. We are already planning our next trips!

Our pups absolutely loved her during our visit as well as while she was sitting. Julia sent pics of everybody playing outside enjoying the beautiful day. We have a 8 month old Aussie who is very leery of strangers. She was fine in minutes! We will definitely be booking Julia again!

Chrissy was phenomenal! So good to our baby dog! She sent us updates & pics every day & even ran to Petco to get treats for him at our request. We were a bit nervous about leaving him but shouldn’t have been. We are so pleased with her and will definitely use her again!
