Meghan was absolutely wonderful with drop-ins for my elderly cat while I was away. I was super nervous about leaving my cat with someone new after a difficult year with her health, but Meghan was super warm, communicative, and consistently on-schedule with everything going just as planned. 10/10 will absolutely book with her again. Thank you!!!

Rover was easy to use and we were so glad to connect with Monica. She took great care of our babies while we were away and sent us pics each day. This was our first big trip away from our kitties who we adopted from the local shelter just 3 months ago. They were in great hands with Monica and they were happy and healthy upon our return . We have already booked with Monica for our next trip away from home.

About: Hi there! My name is Haylie and I’m a nursing student at UTMB. I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud owner of nine amazing pups of all different breeds and sizes. Taking care of them every day has given me tons of experience with all kinds of personalities, routines, and special needs. I truly love spending time with animals and making sure they feel happy, loved, and well cared for. Since I was unable to bring my dogs to school with me, I’d love to help take care of others! Whether it’s playtime, walks, or snuggles, I’ll treat your pets like part of my own family! As a nursing student, I’ve learned how to balance responsibility, care, and time management — skills that carry over perfectly into pet sitting. I usually finish my classes around 4 p.m. most days, which gives me plenty of time in the afternoons and evenings to care for pets. Safety and trust are always my top priorities. I make sure every pet is well looked after, loved, and secure while their owners are away

About: I have cared for all ages of dogs, including my own senior dog. I am detail-oriented and can accommodate many requests, including sending all the cutest update pictures! I do not have a dog of my own right now but miss them and would love to come work with yours. I am a graduate student right now with classes that are mainly in the morning, so I have most of the rest of my days free to schedule any needs you and your fur baby may need. I work remotely in the afternoons so I would be able to spend as much time as necessary with your pet. I have multiple bedrooms if your pet needs its own space to relax, or they can roam freely at my home or yours. I know being away from your pet can be anxiety educing, so whatever you need to feel comfortable, I want to help.

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. We had two great danes and would baby sit any type of dog from Dotson, pit bulls, mastiffs, poodles, labs, shepherds, and many more. In the last 10 years I have been a lot more involved with handling and training of the dogs we have and baby sit. As well, I have experience with cats, fish, and birds. Needles to say, there is very little I don't feel comfortable taking care of. My days are very open and flexible . I go to college from 10:00am to 12:00am mon-thurs. Other than school I have a very flexible schedule. Any animal I take care of I will show the attention and care I would give to my 11 year old great dane. Not only will they get attentive care but all the fun they could wish for.

About: I am new to Rover, but have taken care of animals, big and small, all my life, and hope to grow my Rover profile at the same time I build my career as a recently-graduated archaeology Ph.D. student. I fully believe that our pets are parts of our family, and they deserve to be cared for that way. Our pets are just one part of our lives, but we are their whole lives, and I believe that is a gift, and means that taking care of pets is an honor. I grew up with dogs, cats, and even the occasional snake or two, and am familiar with animals at every stage of life. I am also used to a wide variety of energy levels and sizes, and have cared for small dogs, big dogs, house hippos, and tiny tornadoes (I also recognize that sometimes tiny tornadoes come in cat-form). I am very comfortable walking and playing with large, energetic dogs, and can provide them all the stimulation and engagement that they need. I am also familiar with the unique needs of cats, and have never had a period in my life when I did not have at least one cat as a pet. I am completely at ease with litter box care, playtime, and snuggle time. I am also very comfortable caring for geriatric animals, and animals that require medication. Throughout my life, I have cared for many pets, both cats and dogs, at the end of their lives, and even currently have a 20+ year old cat that requires some extra attention. I understand that older animals are special cases, and they deserve all the attention and care we can give them in their twilight years. I will care for your animals like my own, and will love the opportunity to make a new furry friend! I am currently an adjunct professor, and I have my own archaeological nonprofit, but this means my schedule is mostly up to me. This gives me ample time to spend with your pets, as well as flexibility to fit into your schedule. I will care for your animals in your home according to their routine and your expectations. I understand how important routine is, and how important environment is for pets to feel safe and secure.

About: I have two dogs of my own and have had dogs growing up my whole life. I’ve also dog sat and cat sat for friends and people I know. I love spending time with animals and will make sure your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m currently a college student, so I have a flexible schedule and can work around your pet’s needs. Whether you need someone for a walk, a drop-in visit, or pet sitting while you’re away, I’ll do my best to be available. Since I’ll be caring for pets in their own home, I’ll always follow your instructions and keep them on their normal routine. I’ll make sure they have fresh food and water, walks, playtime, and attention, and most importantly feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll also send updates and pictures so you know your pet is happy and doing well.

About: I have two dogs of my own and I love them both so much! I volunteered at a local dog shelter, where I gained hands on experience working with dogs of all sizes! I have taken care of smaller dogs, bigger dogs, and older dogs before. No matter the size I’m happy to help! I am a college student, so my schedule is flexible -which ensures plenty of time to take care of your little ones! I usually take my dogs for a walk every morning/evening and if you need me too I’d love to do it for yours as well! I understand the stress of leaving your furry friend with strangers. I have always been an animal lover and would gladly show your little ones some love! I will treat your home like it is my own- with respect and care. When I have someone else’s animal in my care I treat them like my own -as part of my family, as I hope anyone else would do for mine!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life! My personality has grown around my love for animals and I know I would not be the person I am today without the unconditional love of animals. I have never not owned a pet, I love taking care of them and showing my love! I love all animals and am super comfortable around every kind. Friends can always rely on me to take care of their pets when they’re away, no problem! I just graduated in May from UT and am taking the summer off of work to have fun! I have a very open schedule and can be very flexible to take care of pets. I understand the need for the upmost care for your pets, considering I would want the same as well. Good communication is a key aspect to this care and I would make sure to check in and answer quickly in order to avoid any confusion. Also, I love taking pics so I can always send update pics to ensure safety and trust!

About: T.ender L.oving C.are of your babies while you are away: long or short-term, drop-ins, one-time, or regular care. Overnights, daily, weekly, monthly, anxiety issues, senior care, special needs — all okay! I’ve had cats, dogs, and fish since I was young. I also have previous veterinary and emergency veterinary assistant experience. I’m an experienced aquarist, plant and garden caregiver, and have hand-raised baby birds. I adore fish, guinea pigs, chickens, reptiles and amphibians too, so no worries if you have multiple pets because I take excellent care of them all! My own babies include: Hestia my newest adopted kitty, 6 pond goldfish and 1 pleco, 4 chickens, a bunch of plants, and I dabble in aquaponics (growing fish and plants together). I’m mature, responsible, detailed, and trustworthy. Taking clients now until my schedule is filled. Hope to see you soon! Feeding, care, play, and love — all day every day! We’ll probably listen to some music and do some howling too! We’ll take field trips to the beach as often as possible. I’m mature and professional and I listen carefully to important client instructions. I assure excellent care. About: I grew up caring for my own cats and dogs and have also enjoyed being entrusted to care for the fur babies of others when they’re unable to. This has included general companionship, playtime, walks, feeding, and administering oral medications. I have experience with breeds of all sizes and ages, but do especially well with smaller breeds. Currently, I’m earning certifications in animal care, health, behavior, and wellness (including CPR and treatment of minor injuries) to be able to provide the best care possible! A work-from-home schedule affords me the flexibility to attend to your pet care needs. You can contact me in advance to inquire about availability and schedule services. A free 15-minute meet & greet is required for first-time clients. I prefer to care for pets in the client’s home; however, if a visit to my home is necessary for periods of time longer than an hour, it is recommended that the client provide materials like food, leash, toys, pet bed, and a carrier/crate, if used.

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Galveston on Rover is $19.98 per visit (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

As of September 2026, there are 327 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Galveston. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Galveston. On Rover:

  • 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
