“Michelle was the best Rover ever! She came with extensive experience with animals at the Humane Society, which is just what Spirit needed. Spirit was a rescue and although very well adjusted to her new home, having the most experienced and loving caretaker. At our meet and greet, Michelle asked about all of her needs, medical and how to play with her. She was an instant friend with organic buffalo treats on our meet and greet. In our week away we got daily updates with wonderful pictures of Spirit doing her favorite things from eating to playing with her favorite toys. The bubbles, the balls and her wand. About: Caring for animals is one of my greatest passions in life. I have over 30 years of experience and have cared for many different animals including horses, bearded dragons, goats, sheep, hamsters, ducks, chickens, fish, snakes, and of course, dogs and cats. I had a little farm in Illinois before I moved to California in 2015. On this farm, I rescued and cared for chickens, kittens, dogs, and goats. About: I grew up with cats, dogs, and horses and am very confident in caring for them. I have plenty of time in my schedule to make sure that I am giving them the attention and care that they need while you are away! I am also knowledgeable on how to administer medications and special food. I am a student with a lot of free time due to some of my classes being online so pet care will fit into my schedule very easily! About: I’ve taken care of all types of dogs for 30 years. I have two Pittbull mixes , one boxer Pitt and one Pitt bulldog. The Pitt Bull Dog has intervertebral disk disease and used my training in occupational therapy and massage and did physical therapy with him myself so he could use his back legs again, after being paralyzed and needing a wheelchair. He’s now able to walk without his wheelchair. I’ve also taken pittbull training classes with them and am knowledgeable about training cues. I currently work as a distribution sales executive, and work from home, so have free time in the afternoons and weekends. I have a baby and two dogs of my own and would still be able to take some time to visit other dogs in my area. I can check on pets during the day or while clients are on vacation . I can take them on walks, let them out in the yard, play fetch , feed them , snuggle them, and even give medicine.

About: I’ve lived with dogs since my first memory. I grew up on a farm, and we had 3-6 dogs at any given time. When I went to college, I adopted the first dog I would raise on my own -- he lived almost 15 happy years. I rescued another pup in my mid-thirties — he’s going on 7, and we’re best buds. So, I have experience taking care of puppies, seniors, and every age in between. My dogs and I have participated in puppy schools and worked 1:1 with excellent dog trainers -- in each case, I learned as much as my dog. I believe dogs just want to give love and get love back. This emotional reciprocation, along with adequate exercise and a healthy diet, makes for a happy, healthy dog. I believe every dog is good by nature, and, as humans, we have a responsibility to provide dogs with a nurturing environment in which they can be their good-natured, happy selves. I love connecting with a new dog, understanding its world and experience. With empathy from this connection, I find it easier to care for a dog and provide the type of love any particular dog needs and wants -- through daily routines, fun-hearted play, and plenty of attention. Ultimately, this leads to a more enjoyable relationship between human and canine. While I’m primarily a dog person, I grew up with lots of cats on the farm and have lived with and cared for cats here and there as an adult. I feel comfortable with cats and understand their needs. I understand the trust required to let someone else take care of your pet. My promise is to always be building and reinforcing my trustworthiness as a caregiver to animals and plants. I walk my dog every day. I understand some dogs need more than one walk per day, depending on their energy level. I also make sure my dog gets outside several times a day to enjoy the fresh air and relieve them. I will do the same for yours, based on your preferences. At this time, I work from home, so my availability for drop-ins or walks is very flexible. I am calm, gentle, and patient and aim to create an environment where the dogs I care for can feel and act the same. When walking, I like to keep dogs on a 6-foot leash (not a retractable leash) and keep the dog walking forward as opposed to stopping every few seconds. I consider myself the leader (not the dog) and intend to set a vibe where the dog understands they have a job to do -- walk!

I love connecting with each animal in their unique ways, I truly believe we have a lot to learn from these compassionate beings. It's my pleasure to make them feel safe, loved, well fed and fully exercised! I am happy to offer extra services that include picking up or dropping off (you provide crate), giving medications orally or topically (I don't do injections), brushing fur, cleaning litter boxes, feeding your other animals, etc. Please don't hesitate to ask for more help, I'm here for you and your pet! I don't have a lot of experience with disabled or very old animals but I'm willing to learn what their specific and special needs are. I have had older dogs in my life so I do have a basic grasp on their needs but everyone is unique! I mostly work remote from home with the occasional pop into the warehouse once or twice a week. My schedule can be pretty flexible for the most part! I'll gladly learn the typical schedule you have with your pet so that they feel their care is secure and stable. Time of feeding, length of walk, treats, etc. Just let me know and I'll do my best to make you both feel considered and cared for. I'm not currently doing doggy day care or boarding. Eventually I will offer that service again! I might be open to it on a case by case basis.

About: I've taken care of a multitude of different species for pretty much all of my life- I've been responsible for our family cat as well as our dog for about four years now. I also keep personal animals such as rats, fish, and birds and have done so for the past ten years. I've petsit for many, including people with elderly cats and energetic dogs. I'm currently working on and off shifts sporadically on the weekends, but should be available every weekday! On the weekends, my schedule is a little less flexible, but I should be able to work with other people's scheduling needs. I'm very attentive to animal body language and commination and so highly value treating animals with the highest respect, asking consent before petting or handling, and making sure they are comfortable with me!

About: I’ve had cats my entire life and understand them well. My sweet kitty just passed away at 20 years old and I’d love to help take care of yours. I frequently travel for work for weeks on end, but when I am home and able to cat-sit, my schedule can be completely flexible. Day / night. Since I only offer cat-sitting, I doubt that this section about my own house will matter much. Cats don’t like to be relocated for temporary purposes.

About: I have cared for dogs since I was ten years old and I got my first puppy. After my college graduation I wanted another dog so bad but because of my travel for work I was always the one to just visit and baby sit my parents dogs for about the past 7 years. However, I'm changing careers now to be home more and have my very own puppy and luckily the chance to look after some other cute dogs as well! I live on a 7 acre property and have experience taking care of goats and chickens as well! I'm currently going back to school, mostly online so I have lots of time to drive to and play with your dog. On some days I do have to be at the SRJC in person but never for more than 4 hours at a time. I am an outdoorsy person and I love to go on long walks. I also have a SUV so if a walk in a park further away is desired I can easily transport them. I have a high energy puppy of my own that loves to play with other dogs big and small so he is always available to keep your dog company if they enjoy playing with others.
