“Very communicative, lots of updates/photos, noticed/notified me of every little behavior change which is all VERY appreciated because my dog is allergic to everything, can be reactive, and needs to stick to his routine”

“I had an excellent experience with Irina while she boarded our puppy, Kendrick, in her home. She was extremely communicative and kept me well informed throughout his stay. Irina noticed a few small sores on Kenny, reached out right away, and—with my approval—applied medication to make sure he was comfortable and healing. This stay happened while I was recovering from major surgery, so having someone so attentive, responsible, and caring was a great relief and this assurance helped in my recovery. I’m very grateful for the care she provided and would absolutely trust Irina with Kendrick again. Highly recommend!”

“Rocky is a special-needs dog - anxiety, sundowners, allergies, IBD, .... It takes a special person to board and care for Rocky, and that person is Florene. She has a heart for dogs, but she also has knowledge and experience - and knows how to command respect from them. I never want to take Rocky anywhere else. Even though it is an hour's drive for us one way, the peace of mind is worth it. And besides, we really like Florene and her husband Pat.”

“Wendy was great. She took a last minute booking that allowed us to enjoy our trip with peace of mind. Our dog Miley got along great with Wendy’s two dogs. They couldn’t stop playing all day. Wendy kept us updated with pics and messages. Miley got plenty of long walks while in Wendy’s care. Miley had such a great time that when we got back to pick her up she almost didn’t want to leave. If you’re a husky owner who has a dog with separation anxiety I recommend giving Wendy a try.”

“This was my very first time leaving my two dogs with Annie, and a first time Rover client. Annie was absolutely amazing! I got updates with pictures throughout the duration of my time away, making me feel at ease about the care they were receiving. I was especially nervous to leave my standard Goldendoodle because she has a Megaesophagus and requires special feeding. Annie didn't hesitate, offered a solution that worked, took pictures and spoiled them rotten. They came home happy like they'd been away at the most awesome camp in town! I would highly recommend Annie. Oh, and she made homemade dog biscuits for them, a little special treat to bring home.”

“Ghost was so well taken care of and loved on his stay with Zariyah. We got to enjoy our trip out of town without worrying about him having fun. She sent us daily updates, some days multiple times, and was always prompt in getting back to us. She took care of ghost’s sensitive skin and even went above and beyond what we asked. We will use her going forward!”

“Khyli is great! She sends pictures of the dogs throughout their stay with her and you can tell how much she really loves the dogs! She’s such a great dog sitter!”
“They were amazing! Always sending updates and making sure to send pictures. Pika had the best time and I felt so safe and comfortable, leaving her in such good hands.”

“Minhhan has been wonderful with our senior Shih Tzu. Delilah has lots of anxiety and it takes time for her to feel comfortable around new people. Minhhan has been very patient with Delilah and Delilah has become very fond of Minhhan. We have already set it up another boarding appointment with her. You can definitely tell she is an animal lover and Delilah and our family are so happy to have found Minhhan.”

About: As a pet owner myself I know they need love and care and they depend on us more than we depend on them. I've owned pets my whole life and I would gladly help care for someone else's pet and treat them as if they were my own. I do work during the week. Monday through Friday from 8am to 3:30pm. I’m available after 4:30 except on Wednesdays. My best availability is Thursdays to sundays. I live in an apartment that allows pets. Lots of space to go for walks and there is a park nearby. I can provide a loving, warm and comfortable environment.

“Cynthia took very good care of my Ponyo last weekend. She sends regular updates with photos and videos. I can tell from those photos and videos that she was happy. Thank you again Cynthia! Will definitely book with you again.”

“We couldn’t be happier with our experience with June! Our pup has a lot of anxiety, and we were nervous about leaving him. From the very beginning, June took our concerns to heart and made sure Ollie felt safe and cared for. She sent us daily updates with pictures and thoughtful notes that reassured us and helped us feel completely at ease while we were away. It was clear that she truly listened to what Ollie needed and adjusted her care with patience and compassion. Her attentiveness and calm presence gave us so much peace of mind, and we are so grateful to have found someone nearby who we can trust with Ollie. Thank you, June, for going above and beyond with your amazing dog-sitting abilities. We can’t recommend you highly enough!”
“Both were super sweet. Kind energy. My little guy was so happy when I picked him up. So I know I left him in good hands. Received a video of him on a walk and a pic of him lounging while I was away. Super thankful for them! Can't wait to have them watch Roscoe in the future”

“Aya took good care of my active goldendoodle. I appreciate her being flexible and willing to work with my schedule. This was the first time I used Rover and was happy with her care. She has knowledge of training techniques which is a bonus! Thanks Aya”

“Bari and Sonny took incredible care of Pechey! I got the sweetest updates and photos while I was gone. Pechey was so happy and content when I got back. She had a blast and I felt so relaxed knowing how well cared for she was. Thank you!!!”

About: Hi there! I’ve been a dog lover all my life, finally becoming an owner over 20 years ago. I have owned big dogs and little dogs and currently have one of each. I have a fully fenced yard with grass and a big shade tree. Dogs are part of the family here, and so would yours while in my care. I work from home on the weekdays I am available to provide care. So when I’m home my schedule is very flexible so I can cater to any needs. I have a fully fenced yard and two very friendly dogs - a labradoodle and a Shih Tzu. I can provide regular potty breaks also and extra attention if needed.
About: We've had dogs for 15 years, 3 in total. More recently we got a puppy in 2025 and trained her ourselves: she now potties outside, plays fetch, is crate trained, and is an excellent car passenger and errand buddy. We also care for our senior dog, Davey, with a lot of outdoor time, good senior dog food, and cuddles. Jamie works from home full-time and Alan works from home 4 days a week. We both have generally flexible schedules and only petsit when at least one of us is home. Our 5 year old son is in school during the weekdays and is respectful of dogs' boundaries while at home. We have a large, fenced-in backyard with grass and plenty of space to play. We have multiple mature trees which provide shade during hot summer months, and various toys and activities for rainy days. We also live in a grassy, dog-friendly neighborhood for dogs that love a walk.
About: I genuinely love animals and have two dogs of my own! I have a flexible work schedule, a fenced yard, and a home where pets can feel comfortable and cared for. I’ve always been the go-to pet sitter for family and friends, so this feels like a natural way to do something I already love. Your pets will get plenty of attention, playtime, and love while you’re away. 🐾🤍 Pet care fits naturally into my routine since I have two dogs of my own. I work a flexible schedule, so I’m able to build my day around walks, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of attention. I’m also home regularly and enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for pets doesn’t feel like an extra task, it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. In my home, pets have access to a secure, fenced yard and a calm, welcoming environment. I follow each pet’s routine, personality, and needs, and I’m mindful of introductions with my own dogs. For drop-ins or care in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I would my own and make sure your pet gets the attention, exercise, and care they’re used to.

Wendy was absolutely amazing! We’ve boarded our pups with several sitters and Camp Bow Wow, and Wendy was hands down the best! From our first meet and greet to their weeklong stay, she was so sweet and caring. We enjoyed our vacation knowing our pups were in great hands and having a blast! She even went above and beyond to give our Frenchie his last-minute medications. We can’t recommend Wendy enough! ❤️🐾

I truly appreciate Connor. He was receptive to a meet and greet before my 2 dogs had their overnighter. He was accommodating to my tripawd who gets about a lot slower at 8 years old. During their stay, Connor sent photos, which were so nice to see. My dogs were comfortable at his home, which is a calm environment. I am so grateful for Connor's services and highly recommend him!

Jenifer provided wonderful care for Canela. We received updates throughout the day & upon our return Canela was happy & playful. I would/will ask Jenifer to watch Canela in the future. She is excellent in caring for dogs. Her son Jared & her dog Gus also warmly welcomed Canela. I'm very happy to have found a trustworthy pet sitter.
Cuedi and her family are absolutely wonderful and clearly have a genuine love for dogs. We did a trial daycare visit before the extended boarding, and when we returned, our furbaby was so happy and excited to see them again! It was such a reassuring feeling knowing he was staying with people he already knew, trusted, and felt comfortable with. We’re so grateful for the love and care they gave him!

Irene and her family were beyond fabulous. First time using Rover and wow did we luck out by finding this family. Irene was a vet tech before becoming a stay at home mom which made me feel very comfortable since our dog is a diabetic and needs insulin injections twice a day. But after meeting her and her family, her experience didn’t even matter because I could see the love. She sent me texts every morning and evening with adorable pictures of their little one and my dog. I almost felt jealous!!! I absolutely recommend this family to watch your pet, whatever your needs may be. You’ll be lucky to have them!!!

What a wonderful person Karyna is, I instantly felt so at ease and comfortable leaving my pup with her. My Lilly is very attached to me so can find it hard to be with new people and surroundings but she took to Karyna and her home right away. I feel so lucky to have found her and a safe happy place for my Lilly when I travel.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Franklin home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Franklin.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Franklin sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
