“Annie is a super friendly human and my dog came back relaxed, tired, and happy. Very different experience from picking her up from Wag Hotel where she seemed wound up, shaky, and upset. Really glad I switched to Rover and found Annie”

“Achara was absolutely amazing! She did such a great job communicating how Sammy was doing throughout the day sent pictures just overall a really great experience and I absolutely use her again.”

“Very communicative, lots of updates/photos, noticed/notified me of every little behavior change which is all VERY appreciated because my dog is allergic to everything, can be reactive, and needs to stick to his routine”

“Anais was very aware and considerate of my dog’s needs and our preferences. She was communicative and shared pictures throughout the stay. I will definitely reach out to Anais again in the future.”

“Elsa and Luka always have an AMAZING time when hanging out with Alexandra and her pups! Their smiling faces are all the proof I need. Thank you for always taking such great care of them! ☺️”

“This was my very first time leaving my two dogs with Annie, and a first time Rover client. Annie was absolutely amazing! I got updates with pictures throughout the duration of my time away, making me feel at ease about the care they were receiving. I was especially nervous to leave my standard Goldendoodle because she has a Megaesophagus and requires special feeding. Annie didn't hesitate, offered a solution that worked, took pictures and spoiled them rotten. They came home happy like they'd been away at the most awesome camp in town! I would highly recommend Annie. Oh, and she made homemade dog biscuits for them, a little special treat to bring home.”

“Aya took good care of my active goldendoodle. I appreciate her being flexible and willing to work with my schedule. This was the first time I used Rover and was happy with her care. She has knowledge of training techniques which is a bonus! Thanks Aya”

“I think the most important thing about pet sitting service is if the sitter can provide a peace of mind to the owners when they are away. And you did exactly that! We truly appreciate you and all you did for the dogs.”

“My pup got a country getaway - pigs, goats, horses, lots of land run. He's whipped, as he hasn't left his favorite chair since we got home!. I had a last minute work trip for just a night, so had to scramble to find a sitter, but Kristen was available and communicated well before the trip. While my dog stayed, I received frequent updates with pictures of a dog smiling that no dog could fake. He was well cared for and I'd definitely use her again. Thank you Kristen!!!”

“I was nervous about leaving my dog for a few days for a work trip, but I appreciate that Tammy was open to doing a pre-meeting to meet my dog and put me at ease. I also appreciate that Tammy kept me updated with pictures everyday while I was traveling. Would book again!”

“Wendy was great. She took a last minute booking that allowed us to enjoy our trip with peace of mind. Our dog Miley got along great with Wendy’s two dogs. They couldn’t stop playing all day. Wendy kept us updated with pics and messages. Miley got plenty of long walks while in Wendy’s care. Miley had such a great time that when we got back to pick her up she almost didn’t want to leave. If you’re a husky owner who has a dog with separation anxiety I recommend giving Wendy a try.”

“This is the 2nd time we have boarded our dog with Justin. Our anxious dog was comfortable and happy under Justin’s care. Justin was also excellent at providing updates and pictures of Tule which provided peace of mind since our dog is reactive to dogs, cats and other animals. We plan to board our dog with Justin again, if he is available!”

“My dog Oreo had a great two weeks with Marilee and Joe. Oreo had loads of fun playing and wrestling with their dog Zuko who is a great role model for my 3 year old pup. The entire family welcomed and played with Oreo. He even got to go visit the river to swim! 😊 🐕 💗 💦 Marilee was great with communication and sent photos of my happy pup! Lol! He had such a great time I was sort of worried that Oreo would be in withdrawal when we got home without all of their company and attention! We are planning on having Oreo visit again when we go out of town.”

“Zelda had a blast at Patty's house! As an over protective parent, We are very mindful of who we select to watch over such an important family member. And Patty fit the bill! She did an awesome job caring amd loving on our baby girl Zelda! Thanks Patty! ☺️”

“Georgina I would like to thank you for helping us out tremendously by taking care of Oreo for an unexpected extended time 🙏🏾 Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!! You are our dog 🐶 Oreo’s Angel 😇”

About: I’ve owned dogs and cats all my life. All my dogs have been trained well and are very active. I walk my dog daily and love being outdoors. I have been dog sitting and dog walking for a few years for in app clients but I’ve been doing it my whole life. Our family has a golden retriever and a cat. The cat is indoor only and doesn’t prefer to interact with dogs usually. I work full time as a teacher but my wife (also on this app) works from home 3 days a week. I am off on summer break and have other breaks throughout the year. My dogs walks usually happen early in the morning or after dinner time. We play with and brush our dog and cat. We have a toddler who loves animals. We have a small backyard with grassy area. We have a nice neighborhood and walk dogs throughout. We live across the street from a huge park that the dog and child love to visit.
“Thank you SO much Hana! Hana is one of the best dog-sitters on Rover. She was very quick to communicate, sent plenty of updates/photos/videos, walked my puppy frequently, and made him feel loved and at home! My puppy can be standoff-ish to people but he was cuddling with Hana in no time!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Willow Point home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Willow Point.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Willow Point sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
