“Accepted last minute with two dogs she didn’t get to meet beforehand (one being only 8 months with a lot of energy). She did an awesome job. Great communication. Prompt updates and adjusting with requests on the fly. Will be using again.”

“Malachi was great with my pup (that is the important thing) and very eager to provide me with great service. I would recommend him to anyone. We had a few technical glitches, and there are a few thoughts I think I will share with him privately, but those don’t lower his star rating because he really did provide great service. He was very communicative, respected my property, and took great care of of my dog. You should book him and see for yourself.”

“We have had a fantastic experience with Christopher. He quickly established trust with our dog and has been patient and flexible walking him during the coldest days of the winter!”

“Excellent communication and lighting fast response times when using the app. Most importantly, Ava took great care of our Nala and was very respectful of our home. Will definitely rebook with Ava for the summer.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs since I was about 5 years old. And that was when I received my first pet, a chihuahua mix. I’ve cared for her since she was a puppy and she just recently passed away due to old age. I have the patience to deal with puppies and elder dogs! I love them all! I’m currently working part time at a restaurant so I have some down time! I’m available mostly in the afternoons from 2pm - 8pm. I care for every pet as if they were my own by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owner is away. In a client's home, I follow their pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication administration (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection.
“Gyula walks my two Labs regularly, and I highly recommend him for your dog's needs. He has years of experience working with all types of dogs and has the skills to manage them competently and with a great attitude. Gyula is prompt, attentive to the dogs at all times, and naturally works with them as he's walking them, which has improved both of my dogs leash manners. If you need someone to take care of your dog, I'm confident you and your dog will be happy with the services Gyula provides.”

About: Hi, I have had and taken care of dogs all of my life. I currently have a Rottweiler and a beagle mix and they are best friends! I also have experience dog sitting for multiple family members who have all different types of breeds and sizes of dogs. I am currently in college so I am away from home, and I miss my pets so much. But when I am home I am always playing with my pets and giving them attention. I am very caring towards my pets as well as other peoples. I consider animals to be part of your family and not just pets. I always make sure my pets have what they need and give them attention whenever I’m home.
About: Hi, I'm Macy! My family and I just recently moved to the Fox Lake area, and it sure is beautiful. I am a dog lover and dog mom of a handsome young beagle named Tom and a high energy Cattle Dog mix named Titan. I'm excited to be a part of a fun adventure in your pups life! I am always thinking about my pup when I'm away, as I'm sure you are when you're at work as well. I'd love to put your mind at ease that they are being cared for when you are away. We love to go on small walks around the neighborhood, but even more we love to explore new trails where there are lots of new smells!
About: As a middle schooler, I worked on a farm property as a pet groomer. I have experience with both dogs and cats, and a specialization with dogs that are disabled and have behavioral issues. I enjoy being active, going on walks, and making sure your fur baby gets the love they deserve! I am currently working part time at an eye-care office! I have a lot of free time, and would love to spend it with your fur baby! I am flexible and happy to accommodate to whatever you and your pet’s needs may be. I am respectful of the spaces I am in, and I understand that life can get busy sometimes. I never judge a messy home, and promise that it won’t be an issue. I am just happy to help!
“This was my first experience with River and I must say it was great. The entire process was easy and seamless. Bill was awesome with the dogs. Riggs and Gibson came back content and obviously exercised. Thanks so much for your help today while I recover from my foot ailment.”

These days I take care of friends and families dogs while they go on vacation or just need a quick sitter for the day/night. I also have a pet chinchilla, Cheaches, that I take care of everyday :) I'm a elementary teacher, so my availability during the summer is very open. I'm very comfortable with all dogs no matter the size or breed. I have handled a variety of dogs from timid to major explorers. Any instructions given to me I will happily follow. I have always had a easy time connecting with dogs! They are truly mans best friend and I understand just how much they mean to their families :)

About: Hello I currently own 2 dogs and 3 cats. My friends, family, and neighbors rely on me when going on trips to help out with their fur babies. Doing their feeding, taking them for walks, playing with them, giving them medication if needed or just keeping them company. I currently work from home and have a pretty flexible schedule. To do drop in visits, or walks it’s also helpful that I’m home all day to keep an eye on your babies and play with them on my breaks. I have a fenced yard big enough for your pet to run around, or play with my dogs that enjoy company. Either your pet likes to play outside with toys or receive lots of cuddles, or walks. I do require a meet and greet before setting anything up to see if everyone gets along.
About: I know how hard it can be to leave your sweet doggie while you're away, but we are the family you can trust to take great care of your baby. We also have two very friendly dogs, Harvey and Pepito. There is plenty of love and fun to go around in our home. We are here for whatever your needs are. I am a part-time student with online classes, so I'm home full-time. In other words, I will always be here to look after your pup. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood with minimal traffic coming through. Our children have a toy room where all of their toys are kept. No toys leave the toy room under any circumstance. We have a medium-sized fenced backyard that is kept clear of twigs or other potentially harmful objects.

Message me to check availability on days you need my services. I have a fenced in yard and two doggy doors that your pets can use whenever they want during their stay. I also have a quiet space for your dogs cage that you provide; for their comfort and relaxation while in my care.

I love dogs and playing with them, they are my entire life. I am available full time when ever needed. I have 3 dogs with my family in Illinois. We have a Australian Shepherd and Australian Shepherd Border Collie mix and a German Shepherd mix. I have trained them myself and I absolutely love them with all my heart. I currently have a Shollie named Puddles. He is a rescue and when I got him he couldn't even meet anyone without trying to bite them now he loves everyone. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
