Ariel’s the best! She made sure my shy pup got comfortable with her before talking her on a walk, gave her her medications and took her on nice long walks. Highly recommend Ariel, a kind, caring sitter!

Ricardo is amazing! First time using Rover and I absolutely picked the right person. He scheduled a meet-and-greet to introduce himself and get to know my dog. They were completely at ease with each other. Ricardo’s a proactive communicator, provided regular updates, and was always friendly and punctual. I highly recommend.

First time Rover users, so we did a walk with Lillie to get Odin acclimated before house sitting for a week next week. Lillie handled Odin’s confusion very well and took him around the subdivision and took notes for the upcoming stay.

First time using Sherri, and will not be the last. Was great with communication and punctual! We have a camera and was able to see the dogs when she showed up. They were so excited to see her. When she left, she actually took the time to say good bye to each dog and pat them on the head to say “goodbye” :) was touching to see her put that care into leaving them.

About: Over the past four years, I have house-sat a multitude of times for all types of animals; birds, dogs, and even cats. I make sure that they get lots of love and playtime when I'm with them and any other requests by the owners. I have administered medicine to pets while I have house sat so there would be no worries while you are away! I have experience with foster dogs as well and volunteer at Animal Rescue Project. I am a college student so I have a very flexible schedule! With my classes, there is plenty of time for me to spend time with your furry friends and give them all the love they deserve while you are gone! When at your home, I'll make sure that your pet(s) gets fed on time, takes long walks, is let out when needed, and gets plenty of time to play. I also love to take pictures to send when you're away because everyone needs to see their fur baby while they are away. As the owner of two dogs, I understand the importance of wanting someone that you can trust to take care of your loved ones and I always make sure I provide the service and time that I would want for my pets.

About: *update 2026* I still love caring for your babies, but my schedule has gotten very busy this year. Please always feel free to reach out (even if my calendar looks full—things change quickly!) but know that my availability is often pretty limited. I don’t want to accept requests when I cannot give your dog the love they deserve. Thank you for your understanding! — I've been training and taking care of dogs since I was 11 years old! I have housetrained, crate trained, taken Canine Good Citizen and other obedience classes, and done several years of agility training with my dogs. If you have an active dog, we can go running, hiking, or for long walks around the neighborhood. If you have a couch potato, we can lounge all day! I currently have a five year old Dalmatian mix, Izzi, who loves making new friends! She is very friendly and easygoing, and would love playing with your dog. Izzi comes with me to housesit, so your dog will have a playmate the whole time. I work remotely 2-3 days a week and am available most weekends! My remote schedule is fairly flexible, especially if coordinated in advance, so if you need weekday sitting we can probably work something out! While I don’t have a fenced in yard, Izzi and I go for several walks each day, so your dog will get lots of exercise! My own dog suffered from severe separation anxiety when I adopted her two years ago. We are also working to get over her fear of the car. I know what it's like to be trapped in your house with an anxious dog! If your dog can't be left alone (or is delicate in other ways), let me know and I can make sure to stay with them the entire time. I can work with you to make your dog's experience the best possible! Please tell me any special behavioral or medical needs that your dog has.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Forest Hills. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Forest Hills. On Rover:

  • 99% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
