“Garrison was excellent with Dan and Maisy. We felt totally comfortable leaving the pups there for the day while we visited friends in the area and when we picked them up they were tired from all the fun they had. Would definitely use her again if in the area!”

“We were visiting the Rochester area and needed someone to watch our labs for a couple hours - Kerrie was so flexible, responsive, and overall wonderful with our two very active and enthusiastic labs. If we’re ever in the area again, I know who we’ll be contacting if we need someone to watch our pups!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs of all shapes and sizes my entire life! I grew up with a miniature dachshund, lived next door to huskies, pet-sat for friends and family (mostly pit bull mixes), and even get to host my sister’s Golden Retriever puppy for doggy daycare. And now, I have my own fur baby, Axl, a 55-lb Pit Bull Terrier mix! 🐾 If there’s a dog in the room, you can bet I’m the person on the floor giving them all the attention. Loving animals has always been in my nature, and when you trust your dog with me, you can rest assured they’ll be treated like part of my family. I’m absolutely obsessed with my own dog, so I understand just how important it is to know your furry friend is getting plenty of love, attention, and care while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet your furry friends (and you)! 🐶❤️ My schedule is extremely flexible as I work toward getting my business up and running over the coming months. I’m hoping to be there for your pets whenever and however I can! Whether you need a quick drop-in, a walk, some extra playtime, or someone to keep your pup company while you’re away, I’d love to help. 🐾 I know how much peace of mind comes from knowing your pet is in good hands, and I’m happy to work with your schedule and your pet’s individual needs to make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and cared for. Simply put, pets are part of our family around here. They’re not just animals—they are a huge part of our lives! My mission is to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible while your pets are in my care. For drop-ins, walks, or playtime, I am able to easily adjust to whatever your dog is used to or your care preferences. I also have enough experience with dogs to be able to manage their behaviors by instinct and provide safe, attentive care. At our home, we have a fenced-in yard with an in-ground pool and a sun deck—perfect for pups who enjoy swimming and relaxing outdoors. My dog, Axl, does best with female or smaller dogs. An initial meet-and-greet between dogs is required before any doggy daycare stays.
“Marie understood Chica's anxiety from being away from home for the first time and gave her plenty of attention and exercise. Marie was very attentive towards Chica and gave us positive feedback regarding her stay. We highly recommend Marie!”

“Kate is very kind and easy to communicate with. She took great care of my Bella and always asked important questions. I know Bella had so much fun — her daughter played with her, and I’m so happy that my pet had a wonderful time and was well cared for by Kate and her family.”

“Ricardo was so great with our dog! Took him out for a walk in all kinds of weather, and he came home happy and tired. Great communication and updates - we are hoping to work with him again soon. Thanks Ricardo!”

About: I’ve always had a dog since I was born until I moved to Buffalo for school. I currently work a full time hybrid job where I am home most days with a pretty flexible schedule. Due to recent life changes, I no longer have my own pet and am really missing having a buddy at home. I currently work a full time hybrid job where I am home most days with a pretty flexible schedule. Due to recent life changes, I no longer have my own pet and am really missing having a buddy at home. I currently live in a first floor apartment, but there is a fenced in dog area right behind my building and love to take walks around the neighborhood. I have always been around animals and have a strong love for them all. A family member also a top Rover sitter in the Canandaigua area that I have assisted with as well for several years.

About: I have 25 years of experience training and caring for dogs. My journey started when I took my Labrador to a training class. I continued reading books and watching training videos and applying the knowledge to have a well behaved dog. To this day I have continued to apply all I have learned with the animals entrusted in my care. I have been approached by friends and neighbors to assist them in the care and training of their dogs and it continues to be a passion of mine. My home and I are readily available for any and all of your furry loved ones. I look forward to providing a calm, assertive and balanced environment where your dog would feel comfortable and safe in my care.
“Omgosh what a great experience! Short notice meet and greet and then next day stay. Such obvious dog lovers and a welcoming home. Jackson’s big big and fills up a room and they let him. This was a situation where we needed help in a pinch but we will definitely be booking again. This was such a great first time Rover experience - thank you!!”

About: I’ve owned and cared for many types of animals throughout my life. I have experience with dogs, cats, small animals, some birds and reptiles. I am my family’s and neighbors go-to pet sitter. I am looking forward to taking care of your loved pet as well! As a full time caregiver, my schedule can be flexible to fit your specific pet sitting needs. I have a 3 year old Shepard/ Husky mix and a cat that likes to keep to himself. I'd love to stick to your routine as much as possible. If boarding with me, it is important all animals get along and are kid friendly. Please provide any toys/blankets that may help comfort your pup while they stay. Outside time can be on a leash in the backyard, a troll down the sidewalk, or a trip to the park.
About: I have been taking care of animals since I was a small child; constantly rescuing, nurturing and loving animals in need! I have compassion for all animals, big and small, but have a special place for dogs in my heart. If your dog is to board with me I will treat them as if they were my own. I want them to be as comfortable in my home as possible, so that means keeping them on the same schedule they follow at your house, letting them on the furniture and giving them lots of attention and nurturing. I firmly believe all animals deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. I also enjoy exercising - especially running and hiking!! I'm enthusiastic to hike, walk, walk/jog or run with your dog depending on their size, age and health. I love nothing more than starting and ending my day with exercise and having a pup to accompany me. I live with my husband who is an avid dog lover and currently works from home, so he is here almost all hours throughout the day and loves to help out with the dogs. So no worries about your dog not getting enough exercise! Will get plenty here. I am a stay at home mom, so I am always home! Your fur baby will never be left alone here! I am always here throughout the day, so whatever your fur baby needs, I am available for! My son LOVES dogs, so they will fit it amazing here! I treat every dog as if they're my own. They will get treated like kings/queens with us! Whatever your normal schedule is, I will do my best to recreate that for them.

About: Hi, I am a volunteer EMT and have a life long passion for dogs and all animals. On my spare time, my wife (Melinda) and I enjoy various aspects of the outdoors, no matter the season. We frequently pet sit for my brother-in law's German Shepard, who is full of energy, of which I have learned all the commands and public interaction techniques. This has been ongoing for approximately the past 4 years. * Melinda and I extensively clean and disinfect our house not only before and after each dog but also on a regular basis as well. We are excited to be part of your dog care needs and you can be sure your pets will be well taken care of with us as a smooth transition. Whether it is walking, playing, or pet sitting, we are here to help! Please message us as you know your plans. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing from you! Conveniently I work very close to home and can come home to check on the puppy on my lunch break though that time varies from day to day. We have a long lead in our backyard that we can adjust accordingly and we are always outside with your fur-baby. We also have friendly neighbors and multiple eyes checking in periodically. My wife and I have a fleece-lined jacket 4 any puppy to help combat the weather. Additionally we have couch protectors, Memory Foam bed, a basket of toys, and food and water dish set up

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
