I grew up taking care of a number of pets, including many dogs and have been employed as a veterinary technician in the past. I foster dogs on and off from our local shelters. About: I am a former dog trainer at Dog Gone Amazing training and boarding in Reno Nv for the past 4 and half years. I moved to Eureka to have a new start and would love to continue to work with animals. I’ve worked with many different breeds and many different temperaments. I currently have two dogs of my own and a cat as well. I’ve grown up with all sorts of animals, such a horses, chickens, sled dogs and cats. I would love to continue working with new pets and their owners! I currently have 2 dogs and a cat. I’ve also worked as a kennel tech at a boarding/training facility and then moved on to become a trainer at that same facility. I always recommend crates for any situation but in my own home I would crate all dogs and rotate based on how they all get along. Feeding in the crate or separate from other animals. Daily walks or hikes depending on the animal. Cats would get daily enrichment. If weather doesn’t permit or the animal isn’t able to get that day I’d offer mental enrichment such as lick mats, food puzzles, play, training, etc.

I have working around and with dogs and cats for most of my life, my grandma worked with fosters/rescues and at the Animal Shelter during my childhood and with the experience I have a very good understanding of how to handle most animals and provide them with love and care. I also have a 5 year old Border Collie who keeps me very busy, him and I spent 3+ years in intensive training (positive reinforcement only). This experience in training has helped me to understand cues, reactions and how to redirect with many different breeds of dogs. We have a large fenced yard that your pup can play and run around in. We have a dog as well that they can play with outside or inside. We have crate that your pup can use if that’s what they need.

We understand each other and get along great. Dogs, depending on health conditions, want to run and play and establish bonds with their pack. They want guidance and discipline coupled with novelty. No matter the size your pet is a wolf inside. Excercise, specifically running in formation, and playful socializing helps their mental well being. Dogs experience anxiety and boredom just like we do. Behaviors like excessive licking and barking could be signs that something's up. Allow me to take your best friend on daily adventures while reinforcing the commands and desired behaviors that you have already established.

About: To name a few specific skills would be administering medication for cats and dogs, expert back and belly scratching, and behavior training with my own dogs at home. I work part time and have a ton of time to spend playing with your little buddy/buddies! I'm very flexible as my work schedule changes. But longterm sitting and walking can most certainly be arranged! I am currently unable to care for any pets in my own home at this time. Though that may change sometime in the near future.
