About: I’ve cared for animals of all kinds for about 5 years now. From dogs and cats (of all ages!) to horses, birds, and a tarantula! I have a lot of experience with senior animals and pets with special needs as well :). I work part time Monday through Friday but I am always off work by 3pm at the latest (often earlier). But outside of work I have no other responsibilities that cannot be adjusted to fit around your pets schedule! I have experience with all sorts of homes, ex: cities, busy neighborhoods, homes in the country. And all sorts of pets! I am happy to work anywhere and very adaptable.
“Christina did a great job taking care of our sweet Molly!! We enjoyed hearing update on her. I would Definitely give her five stars, and will definitely use her services again!! Thank you Christina!!! Julie”

About: I've had animals most of my life from puppies to pound mutts and full blooded and senior dogs. I make sure to encourage play and positive training. I currently work from home so I spend lots of time with family pets, old roommate animals and friends pets. Lately it's been waking up to 3 small dogs my parents have. I make sure to follow any rules stated by the original owner. It can range from crate training, socialization, cleaning, walking or using the client's home.
“Talia was a godsend! Our two boxers immediately liked her. Her calm demeanor made them feel like they’d known her forever. She kept in communication with us and made us feel extremely comfortable with her. It’s a blessing to have someone you can count on. We’ll be using Talia again!”

About: Currently offering discounted rates, book now before prices increase! I’m new to the whole pet sitting thing, as far as watching other people’s pets. I was fortunate enough to watch a neighbor’s dog this past summer and I loved it. I have 4 dogs of my own. They are a chihuahua, welsh corgi, French bulldog and lastly a sheltie. My dogs are my world and they make life more enjoyable, I truly couldn’t imagine coming home to an empty house without my dogs. I truly hope that I can make this a full time gig and treat your pets as if they were my own and give them the love and attention that they deserve. I’m currently out of a job right now, so I do have plenty of time. Of course I do have my own pets and personal life to attend to but if you work with me I’ll work with you. My main priority is to make sure me and you are on the same page and your pet has the utmost care and love. I mean personally in my home, our pets are our family. They chill and lay around in the house. We don’t personally keep any of them outside. We crate our sheltie when we leave because she is still pretty much a puppy but other than that our dogs just roam the house. I do have experience in taking care of dogs that happen to be outside. Whether it be a building, shed or whatever.
“Dolly has been wonderful to work with. Very prepared and professional. Our dog has pretty bad separation anxiety since our older dog died, and we had no problem leaving him with Dolly there. He was comfortable with Dolly immediately! Will definitely call on her again.”

About: I grew up in a family that love dogs, so pretty much i’ve been around dogs my whole life and all types of them! I am trying to work my way to be a vet technician, but for a side hustle I thought doing what i love would be best which ofc working with animals! I am very reliable and my schedule is pretty flexible! I am working on getting a part time job but for right now I am completely free to watch your fur babies. After 11:00am Monday-Sunday! I will come and let your dogs out as many times as you prefer me to, and stay a little while so they can get out the crate and exercise their legs. I can even feed them if you ain’t gonna have enough time.
About: My mom was a vet tech growing up and I have been around all sized dogs my whole life. We have boarded them in our home, and I would like to continue to do so. Whether it is drop in visits or boarding, I have plenty of room to run. I am local to parks, and can tend to whatever the dogs may need exercise wise. I also enjoy walking all dogs, and I love all breeds. I am home most of the time, so the dogs won’t be stuck alone for hours on end. I work from home, so there will not be much of a time that the dogs will be alone. I can cater to whatever the dogs need. We have plenty of trails to walk (perks of living in the country” I have plenty of bones, toys, blankets, and anything to make your dog happy and comfortable.
“Kim is a wonderful sitter, and we were very comfortable leaving our pups with her. Our dogs each have their own behavioral quirks, and she wasn’t fazed as at. She communicated really well while we were out of town and our dogs were happy and healthy when we got back. Thanks Kim!”

“Kyra recently stayed at our home and took care of our Bernedoodle and cat. She was absolutely fabulous! She sent daily pictures and kept us well informed, played with Bella and loved on Luna. We will definitely use her again!”

“Katelyn was phenomenal! She responded quickly and accepted our booking last minute after two other sitters canceled, was so accommodating to set up a meeting beforehand, gave prompt and detailed updates throughout our time away and went above and beyond to make sure our pup was comfortable. Couldn’t recommend her more and will absolutely book her again and again! She took the best care of our pup!”
“We were so pleased and relieved have Hannah take care of our dog Spark while we were on a nine-day trip. Hannah communicated often and sent us picture of Spark. We never worried about Spark and felt he was happy and well taken care of. Hannah also feed our fish and watched over the plants in our greenhouse. Hannah is someone you can trust and who takes her responsibilities seriously. We would absolutely hire Hannah again to take care of Spark.”

About: We’ve always had lots of dogs or cats. I currently have four at my home but 1 which is my own. I have experience working with dogs with special needs and who are older and younger. I’ve taken care of my friends dogs while they were on vacation and decided that I’d love working through Rover. I go to school and have a part time job. I usually work 3-4 days a week and on the days I do work I typically have 3 hours in between school and work. At my house we have indoor and outside animals. I have a lot of land for dogs to run around on. If I’m watching at someone else’s house I would do what they ask me of. Never do anything they wouldn’t want me to do.
About: I am a dog lover. I grew up with dogs and have one of my own his name is Apollo! He is a happy 2 year. Love taking him to the park on nice days and run around! I’m very friendly and very loving! I would take care of your baby the way I take care of my spoiled baby!! My puppy loves other dogs and loves to play. Any dog that comes to our home will have fun and be walked a lot and be given kisses and belly ruby. Since we do not have a yard we will be doing long walks through out the day and be given treats. I am friendly and loving person to all animals. I am available mostly nights and weeks. I work full time until 4. I am available most federal holidays as well with the type of work I do. I would come to your home to care for your baby so they are comfortable in their surroundings.i feel if your baby is in its familiar surrounding less stress it will feel.
“Hannah kept in good contact with me and sent great pictures. The cats were mainly relaxed, my gray cat is skittish around children so he was a little reluctant to let me pet him because her daughter had been here just before I got home. The house was very well cared for and the plants were in good shape. She did some extras which made the house nice and neat looking when I returned. She did a great job and I'll be trying to get her when I take my next trip.”

“I cannot say enough about Veronica and how wonderful she Is! She stayed with our babies on Christmas Eve and Christmas and didn't mind at All! We were updated with pictures and texts. We never worried at all, as I know my dogs love her! We came home to happy dogs and a clean house! Thank you a million times Veronica!!!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Farmer
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 605 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Farmer. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Farmer walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Farmer maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Farmer choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Farmer. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
