“Madelyn is such a great find! My dog George loved her, her house, her family! And he looked so good, healthy and happy after his stay with her. She was perfect in communications — quick, responsive and informative. We loved the pictures she sent. I can depend on her care 100% and look forward to working with her again.”
“We were very pleased with the care Astrid provided for our dog, Charlie, during the week he was there. Frequent photos, daily outings with him, and confirmation that he got his medicine. Before his stay, we had two meet'n greets. Astrid seems very friendly and calm, while at the same time she demonstrated confidence in her interaction with the dogs (Charlie and others). Would definitely recommend her!”

“Kristina watched my pup for 10 days. She was very responsive and messaged me right back with updates. Dog had a good time and I would definitely book with Kristina again. Thanks!”

“My two huskies were very happy spending a week with Kiara and her family. They were spoiled with tons of attention and all the couch cuddles they could hope for. Kiara was very communicative, understanding of each dog's preferences, and willing to accommodate needs for my senior dog as well. I would be happy to leave my dogs there again!”

“Ashley was an amazing pet sitter for our puppy Dash when we went home for Christmas. She kept us updated on his well being and sent lots of photos. I appreciated knowing our doggo was safe and loved, and she even sent us home with a paw print ornament! Thank you Ashely for letting Dash spend Christmas with you ♥️”

“Amy was absolutely amazing with my willow girl. Willow was so happy and exhausted when she got home so I know she had lots of fun playing with Amy’s kitties. I recommend Amy as a sitter anytime! Thank you and thank you so much for taking my girl last minute! Will definitely book again in the future ?”
“Jennifer and her partner did a wonderful job watching my 6 month old Gracey for 8 days. She received lots of play time and socialization with different dogs and I received daily updates - Win Win! This was her first big adventure and I think she loved it! I plan to use Jennifer again should the need arise.”

“Ramona was seriously really great. We could tell she and her family were genuinely happy to have our dog Murphy at their home for a few days. We received several updates and pictures of Murphy. Murphy didn’t want to leave when we picked him up! We will absolutely be using Ramona in the future.”

“Tina was a great dog sitter for my 2 pups. She was very attentive and sent a lot of pictures. She was very flexible when unexpected circumstances come up with my planned return date. Tina had prompt responses to all of my messages, and she went out of her way to make the pups feel at home. I recommend her for your dog sitting needs and will be using her in the future!”

We love the energy and joy they bring to life! We are now a family of 3 with a sweet, gentle daughter who loves animals as well. She has been asking for a pet but as we’re not able to commit at this time, we would love to dedicate our time to the part-time care of yours! We are ready to love your furry pal💜 I am a full-time Mom so am available most of the day. We can adjust our day to working with your pet’s needs and preferences as well! We will treat your loved one with the utmost care and attention and will provide and shower them with lots of sweet lovies all day long!
“Chelsea did a fantastic job sitting for our dogs! She was responsive when we had questions and sent us daily updates with photos demonstrating that the dogs were having a great time at her place. In fact, they seemed kind of bummed when we arrived to pick them up. 😂 We would 100% recommend Chelsea as a sitter to others and book with her again for our dogs.”

“Kayla is amazing! She took such good care of my boy and you can tell she treated him just like a member of her family. I am so grateful for all she did for me while I was away from my dog, and I know he can’t wait to go back next time I have to go out of town. Thank you, Kayla!”

Madelyn and her family were wonderful with our 1.5 yo lab! He’s about 100 lbs and can be quite a handful, but he seemed to be having a great time all week! Madelyn was super responsive, sent pictures everyday, and put me totally at ease! Our pup enjoyed playing with her dogs and he came home one tired boy. I would absolutely recommend Madelyn for any dog sitting needs!!

Astrid, I can’t thank you enough for caring and loving our babies while we were gone on what felt like a long trip. Your daily photos and communication made us not have to worry. They are also eating better for me now that we are back home. Not sure what magic you did but it worked! Willow already misses Buddy too. Thank you again! 🫶🏼

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Farm Loop home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Farm Loop.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Farm Loop sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AK ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
