“She was wonderful! Kept in contact, sent pictures and snuggled with my big ol baby dog. I even had her help with some Amazon deliveries, delivered flowers and lost keys. So friendly and so helpful. Definitely contacting her again!”

“Kimmie was so professional and reliable, house and pet sitting. She took great care to follow my dog’s special feeding needs. She sent regular updates and pictures, so I was confident my fur baby and home were well taken care of!”

“Brooke did a wonderful job caring for our home and pets while we were away. The house was clean when we returned, and most importantly, our dogs were happy, safe, and clearly well cared for. She followed all our directions and I really felt they were in good hands with her. We’d definitely trust her with our home and pets again.”

“Alyssa and Zachary were so amazing with our animals. They provided plenty of updates with photos and took the time to make sure each of our pets’ needs were met. I felt very at ease knowing that my pup and kitties were in their care :) Would happily recommend these two, and will definitely be using their services again.”

“He is great! My dog loves Isaac she curled up to him immediately. He was great kept me informed and sent pictures. I know my dog was taken care of while I was away and will use Isaac again and again.”

I have a passionate love for animals and I can't wait to meet yours :) Outside of work, pet care will be my top priority. Walks, play time, nap time, food time, etc. will be routine if you book with me. I'll make it my mission to give your pet the most love and care that i'm physically able to! :) Your pet will be safe and sound in my care. I have many years of experience with pets and I only offer the best service!
“Lauren was fantastic! She house sat for me and my dogs loved her and seemed to be so comfortable around her. She took great care of them and even let them sleep with her. I’ve already booked with her again for our next trip and would recommend her to anyone looking for a very knowledgeable and friendly person for pet sitting.”

“Leaving my dogs has always been hard and I’m not going to lie I was pretty nervous because I had never used Rover before. With in the first couple of days, my worries were gone. Adam was updating me on the boys atleast once a day and sent us pictures of them (including our fish Steve). We knew Zeke could be a little timid but he warmed up to Adam right away. He even won the heart of my cranky old man Bruno. With Zeke he can be a bit good shy and not eat everything but had stepped right up and found a solution with some chicken broth. They got their walks and playtime everyday and Adam even stayed at my apartment to make them more comfortable while we were gone. Bonus the house was somehow cleaner than when we left it… even though he didn’t have to do that. I can’t recommend Adam enough. I would rebook him in an instant the next time we are going out of town.”
“Melissa was great! We have a timid but loving dog and he warmed up to her right away. Everything was just as we left it when we returned home and Melissa will be our first choice in the future!”

About: I have always been an animal person which showed from childhood until now! I was raised loving animals and would even save birds or mice my cats brought home. I now live in Fargo attending NDSU, living with one roommate and my new kitten! Growing up I was responsible for not only helping with my own dogs and when they had puppies, but neighbors’ and friends’ dogs as well. I have watched all shapes and sizes of dogs and never met a dog I have disliked. I also go on walks often and always make sure dogs under my care receive enough exercise. Besides dogs I love cats as well! I have had cats since I was born and have always formed strong connections with them. I also watched multiple neighbors cats growing up. In Fargo I have watched my sister’s cats and am trusted by her friends to check on their cats. I have also opened my apartment to my parents’ and sister’s dogs whenever needed to help out. I have taken care of all ages of pets from new born puppies to my dog on her last days. Besides watching pets I have volunteered at Homeward Animal Shelter and socialized cats there. This has taught me to stay patient and never push a pet past what they are comfortable with. I would love to meet any loved pet and treat them as if they were my own! I will be attending hair school in the fall, and I will be busy from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. After school for the day, I will be working part-time while completing my degree at NDSU part-time. Even though my schedule seems busy, I will always make time for your furry friends! I do have a kitten at my apartment, so any pet staying at my home would have to be cat-friendly. That being said, if your dog does not love cats, I could still watch them and make quick stops at my apartment! As for a client's home, I can fit any schedule or habits a pet might have. My goal is to create a safe space for your pet in whatever way they respond best!
About: Growing up, I've always had pets, and my affection for them has only grown stronger as I've gotten older. I'm fascinated by creatures of all kinds and enjoy learning about them. My pet-care experience stems from having my own pets as well as caring for family, friends, and volunteers over the years. I’m excited to get to know you and your pet and provide that unconditional safety and love. Ideally weekends work best but weekdays in the morning are just fine as well. I have a mixed schedule so contact me for any questions. I can always assure my clients that i will take the finest possible care of their dog or cat. I do recognize that leaving a pet at home can be stressful but I make note of all relevant information, such as emergency contacts, veterinarian details, food recommendations, medication information, alarm codes, etc. Never forgetting to lock the doors, and never leave the building without a key. You can be sure that your pet is in good hands.
“Just got back into town while having Ana watch both Vader and Koda for a couple days in our home and was super happy with the experience and it looked like the dogs had a blast! This was our first time using rover and Ana eased all of our nerves to leave our pups for the first time without family watching them. We got lots of updates while we were gone and our house was left in amazing condition! We will absolutely reach out to her again next time we need a sitter.”

“We were so fortunate to have Marissa care for our pup! She Did a wonderful job and they were very comfortable with her. She updated me often with pictures. She kept the house clean. Will definitely use her again!!”

I cant say enough GREAT things about Nicholas! This is the first time we utilized this service and the longest we have been away from our fur babies. We met, he asked alot of questions ( which I loved) took notes. Then he sent us pictures and updates throughout our trip. Please don't hesitate to reach if you need a trustworthy, dependable person to take care of your family members!!

Megan was fantastic in all the ways!! She communicated clearly and often. Her warm and friendly personality made our dogs feel like she was one of the gang, and we are thankful they could be so well cared for in their own home. We received several pictures as well. Thank you, Megan! We highly recommend her as a dog sitter!

Brooke stayed with our two dogs for a week and took such great care of them. She followed their routine, kept in touch while we were away, and left everything clean and ready for my parents when they arrived. We really appreciated her help and will definitely have her back again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fargo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fargo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fargo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
