I am home during the day which allows for frequent outings and attention for your dog. My family consists of myself, my husband, three young children, and a parakeet. Our beloved Frenchie passed away recently at the age of 12.5 and she was the love of our lives. We miss her terribly, she was family. In May we adopted a 2 year old lab mix named Winnie from a shelter. She is friendly, submissive, and loves everyone. Dogs must be great with children and house trained. I open my calendar up only on dates that I’m not traveling for work and am able to stay home the whole day. When I step out to the gym or for errands, dogs will not be left alone together unattended — they will be separated. With my dog, Mischa, I reinforce relationship based dog training practices and advanced obedience on a daily basis. All walks are structured and loose leash with the appropriate corrections. A few times a week, we go to Home Depot or another dog friendly training site to train.
