John has experience taking care of his own three dogs back home, including one who is geriatric and disabled. He never fails to pet a pup on the street, and is a favorite among his friends cats, whom he regularly cares for. John is very reliable, and will take outstanding care of any pet.”

Lupe M.

“LUPE IS AMAZING! I can’t say enough good things here. Lupe was so responsive, thoughtful—amazing catographer and sent pics during each visit. I never felt worried about Randy while Lupe was watching him. She even took out my garbage and brought in my mail! I will definitely contact Lupe again for another drop-in.”

Chau T.
“Chau is such the animal whisper. Somehow animals gravitate to her, probably because she understands their boundaries and has a kind soul. I’ve been fortunate to watcher her raise her one year old pup. Her dog is so well behaved and confident, which speaks to the training Chau did with her. Chau is thoughtful and patient. Your fur baby will be in really good hands.”

Jennifer W.
About: Hi, I’m Jennifer! I have several years experience caring for and training dogs as a dog walker and pet sitter. I love all animals, but I must confess that pigeons are my favorite. I come from a family with a deep love for dogs, I grew up with a a calm temperament sweetheart Cocker Spaniel Springer named Happy, and currently have a frisky 10 year old Dachshund Fox Terrier mix named Oliver that I personally raised and potty trained since puppyhood. Different temperaments are no issue for me, from playful to stubborn to entirely relaxed - I have had experience with all kinds of personalities. I live next to Washington Park, the University of Chicago, and not too far from Promontory Point which features great walking paths along Lake Michigan. I’m an avid biker and love to be outside. I can accomodate most levels of exercise and bathroom breaks. Currently, I’m researching and learning more about dog body language to ensure the comfort and safety of dogs in my care—I’d love to talk to you about it! Your dog will not only be in great hands, but I’ll try my best to provide your pet a comfortable time and a ton of fun, too. I’m a graduate student at the University of Chicago, which allows me to have very flexible hours. I’m typically an early riser and like to take walks or bike rides in the morning. I make my own schedule and work from home most days. I know that life can be unpredictable, so I try my best to accommodate most schedules or last minute changes. I live on the 2nd floor of a 2 story building in a 3 bedroom apartment, which features a large and cozy living room. Usually, I set up dog beds and cozy pillows next to my bay windows so they can relax and enjoy watching a starling or cardinal outside. I keep my bedroom and bathroom doors closed, with the exception of my guest room that I will set up as a “calm room,” especially when I’m caring for multiple dogs. I like to provide a space for dogs to relax or sleep because each dog may have different needs. I keep the blinds closed and stimulation low in that room. This helps me to manage dogs with different temperaments, ages, and energy levels. Dogs are free to roam down the hall and into the kitchen. In a client’s home, I know that this is a new environment, so I do my best to follow instructions as they’re written and honor the clients requests.

Belicia K.
About: I really enjoy getting to know the dogs, cuddling, and playing with them. I am okay with cleaning up after dogs, because I have been walking my own dogs for years. I have fostered and owned dogs and cats of all sizes, so no size is too big or small. If there is a yard, I would love to play with the dogs the entire time that I am watching them, if not I am willing to walk them to a park to let them get their exercise, and have time to socialize. I am open to working with schedules, and if possible, doing last minute bookings. Communication is key with me, so as long as we are both on the same page, I am here for your dog! I am working full time, but I am always free to walk dogs before work, after work, or on the weekends. I am also more than happy to watch cats while you are on vacation. I currently have 2 dogs and 2 cats, so you can decide if you would prefer the dog to socialize, or for me to do a stay at your home! I have an extra crate if crating is necessary, but I usually leave dogs out so they can roam explore and let me know when they would like to play. Even if I am busy, I will always make sure to pause and give your furr baby a play break. I honestly believe, dogs know what they need, and extra cuddles never hurt. With that, I always try to keep an eye out for cues about the bathroom, water, or food, and also give them lots of love.

Nariah B.

“Nariah was great! Took great care of my jazmine and even brought in a perishable package that was delivered and put it away for me. I mistakenly put the wrong address on my reservation and Nariah was understanding and still was able to help me out for the weekend. Will definitely use her again.”

Dominique A.
“Dominique is great with my dog and my dog loves her. She checks in on my dog for walks during the day and also grooming appointments as needed.”

Shiri B.
“Shit is an animal whisperer and is the person who brought my furry baby to me, rescuing her as a stray and eventually finding her a home with me. Shit is detailed, attentive, loving, and trustworthy. Highly recommend!”

Liz K.
“I've known Liz for almost 15 years! She has cared for many pets throughout her life including my fur baby. Headed out of town? Liz will be sure to give your fur baby lots of one on one time and of course cuddles!”

Rebecca W.
“Rebecca has successfully raised dogs from puppyhood as well as caring for dogs beginning in their adulthood. These dogs have come from breeders and rescue shelters, so she’s confident around all personalities and life stages of dog! Rebecca patiently acclimated a very skittish and fearful dog to life with people and now he’s absolutely thriving - I highly recommend her for dog sitting.”

Angel B.
“Angel is the most caring person when it comes to taking care of an animal. From what i can tell, She loves cats, dogs and any other type of house pet.”

Carmen P.
About: Hi! My name is Carmen and would love to take care of your dog. I live in a home with plenty of room for roaming about. I like connecting with a dog through copious petting and belly scratches. I had a dog for over eight and a half years. Besides being an animal lover, I'm an athletic person, so I love being outdoors and exercising. In addition to walking, I could also jog with your dog if you'd like him/her to burn more calories or shed a few more extra pounds. I'm very reliable. My schedule is open as I work from home. I can walk mornings, afternoons, or evenings. I am also very open to dog sitting. I live in a spacious home where the pup will have plenty of room. I have a fenced in back yard where the dog can be let out and have play time. I'm also conscious about not leaving anything out that the dog can get into.

Maria C.

“Maria was very respectful, responsive, and responsible. She sent pictures and information of the dog from start to finish. I would highly recommend her.”

Jaden G.
“Man I love Jaden. He’s so caring with Lola he treats her like his own. Lola is always happy in his care I don’t worry about her being mistreated she loves him”

Jacky V.
About: Hi! I’m Jacky, I’m 23, and I’m working as a healthcare medical assistant during my Med school gap years (just trying to get by honestly). I recently graduated from UIUC as an MCB major!! 🤩 I absolutely LOVE animals. I have 4 pets at home: 1 cat and 3 dogs. My cat likes to mind her own business and will probably hide from your pets, but my dogs will have a blast having a third friend in the room :) I have experience with dog and cat-sitting, not just through Rover, for a little over 5 years! I’m super friendly and active, so your pet will be in great hands! I’ve been wanting to exercise more often, so your pet is going to end up taking ME on walks lol. Or if your pets a cuddler, even better. I’d also love a study buddy! I work full time Mon-Fri and can do drop in visits before and after work. I am usually done at work by 1pm and the rest is work from home. If pet is staying at my place, the walks will be before and after work and before bed (that’s usually every pets schedule). I have a big fenced backyard and two floors in my apartment, so plenty of space for play and sleep! Thank you for reading this far! Hope to see you soon <3 I’m currently working full time Mon-Fri and have time before and after work, as well as on weekends. Send me a message and we can work something out! Pets at my place will have a ton of fun and never feel lonely! If your pet has specific requirements, I can easily accommodate to them to ensure their well being. Pets will always be babies to me, and I’ll treat and care for them the same! Again, my pretty kitty will stay away haha and if needed, I can take extra precaution to separate if it’s an issue.
