About: I’ve grown up around dogs for most of my life and already occasionally pet sit for friends and family. I used to work as a caretaker at a doggy daycare, and decided to continue pet care alongside my new job as it became such a fulfilling part of my life. I'm experienced with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and I'm experienced with a variety of other animals such as cats, fish, lizards, turtles, birds, and hermit crabs. My current work schedule follows the standard Mon-Fri 8-5, with most of my weekends and evenings open. Because of this, I'd be most suited for pets that are used to this schedule already. Otherwise, I try my best to stick to their current schedule for things like feeding and walks. I always feel comfortable meeting the parent(s) and pet before the booking. I can take care of all basic tasks and am very adaptable, patient, and reliable. I do my best to learn about each pet's little mannerisms and quirks so I can accommodate them the best I can while keeping them and your home safe. I want to make sure both you and your pet end up happy! I always ask that I'm given the pet's vet and an emergency contact as well, just in case.
“Kay stepped up when my usual cat sitter cancelled before the Christmas break and really put all of my worries at ease. She is a phenomenally attuned cat sitter and so communicative for any needs she had. Thank you, Kay! Couldn’t have enjoyed my vacation away without you!”

“Meghan is great!! She helped us out last minute and took great care of our pets. She was communicative, thorough, and most importantly, kind to our pets, & we could enjoy our time away without worrying how they were doing. Highly recommend :)”
“Teresa was excellent with my large, often anxious, cat Sherlock. Upon my return I found a happy Sherlock with none of the usual stress symptoms. Teresa also communicated frequently and sent photos of all the snuggles and other antics Sherlock got up to each day. It was great to see my cat happy while I was away!”

“Julia is amazing! She's dependable, easy to communicate with, and it's obvious she really loves animals. We really appreciate the updates she sends and the peace of mind knowing our pup is getting great care while we're away. We're so glad we found her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone.”

About: My family has had dogs since I was born and we fostered dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I have helped out several family friends by pet sitting and walking their dogs. I’ve had some experience pet sitting cats as well. I believe all animals are special and deserve to be treated with love. At the moment I’m working part time with scattered hours so I’m able to fit in time caring for and playing with your pets I can adapt to any routines and rules that are needed to care for your pet the way you do. I am also physically active and give your pet the kind of exercise they need.

About: I have been volunteering at the Richmond Animal League on Midlothian for the past 4 months learning how to work with dogs and read their body language in a role they have called couch potato which involves spending time with a dog 1 on 1 for an hour in a private room where you spend time emotionally connecting with a dog which you or the staff pick then by playing with it if it likes the toy while feeding them food, water, and cleaning up after them if they use the bathroom in the room which has only happened a couple of times. I mainly work with small to medium size mixed beagles that range in sizes from 8 to 30 pounds with ages ranging from 5 months to 7 years old that have had heart worm, abandonment issues, abuse, and neglect with the occasional couch potato since that's the breed they mainly get even though there not a beginner or easy dog to work with and this role has only worked for a few beagles since there a hound dog which means they like to be outside doing games where they sniff and find stuff, run and play outside, but since this role is for indoors I manage with what I can do for them in the short amount of time i'm there with them. My profile picture is a beagle who got adopted the next week after spending time with him named Art he was the most down to earth beagle i have been with at the sheltor. And If your wandering why he looks anxious in the profile picture its because he got woken up from laying on my lap so the staff lady could take a picture with me and him for the rover profile picture. I signed up to rover so that i could learn to work with some new beginner couch potato dog breeds like the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, or a Pug for 30 min drop in visists for people at their homes. I also would like to in the future work with a Golden Retriever/Labrador even though they are not complete couch potato dogs but with the right owner i've heard they can be a great beginner dog to work with for 30 min drop in visists as well. I figured that would be a great place to start since ive never done this before but if some of you experienced owners read this perhaps you could send me a message if I'm on the right track to getting started with other beginner breeds. And the animal sheltors around here like the Richmond SPCA which i just started to attend too as well for there dog day out program they dont have many beginner dogs to work with but i still enjoy going there to learn more and do what i can for them. I am also learning how to properly walk dogs at the sheltors when they have more volunteer slots available since I have only walked 6 different dogs. I also dont have any experience giving medicine or CPR to dogs and would prefer a dog that does not have to be given any medication or have any major illnesses so if an emergency arises i would not have too take him to the vet unprepared until i learn how to give dogs their medicine and preform CPR on them if needed. I work part time on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at a record store. But im flexible any day of the week to feed, give some playtime and cuddles to your dog from 3pm - 10pm on the weekdays and weekends. I will update this in the future if I need to change it. I have never owned any pets because the house i have been in my whole life is not a compatible place for pets, and this would be my first time caring for someone elses pet in there home. But i will listen carefully and be patient with you about asking questions for your dogs likes and dislikes, what habbits she or he makes, what feeding times work, bathroom routines, when they like to relax or cuddle, what toys do they like to play with, behavioral issues, signs of anxiety and stress and about your property layout amongst other questions.
“Jessica was fantastic with providing clear communication, including updates, photos, and how our pupper was doing! Very pleasant experience and would recommend/have again in the future.”

“Amanda was fantastic—super attentive and clearly cared about our pup’s safety and happiness. She made sure to play with him and kept a close eye so he didn’t eat anything he shouldn’t in the yard. We’d absolutely book again!”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities, including my own pets and my professional experience as a kennel attendant at a pet daycare. I’m experienced with walks, feeding routines, baths, medication, and providing care for pets with different needs and temperaments. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. My goal is to give your pet the same attention, patience, and love I would give my own. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets the time and attention they deserve. I plan my days around making sure each pet gets proper care, playtime, walks, and check-ins without feeling rushed. I treat every pet like they’re my own. I focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and following their normal routine so they feel relaxed while their owner is away. I pay attention to their behavior, needs, and any instructions provided to make sure they receive the best care possible.

“Damaica is very responsible and communicative. Shared pictures of our kitty, who isn't always the friendliest to strangers, but allowed Damaica to pet her - a new friend. Definitely would use again.”

“This was our first time having Jeffrey do drop ins for our three wild kids and he was AMAZING! Great communication, super professional, loved on our doggos just like we would!”

About: I had multiple dogs since I was a child and have always considered them to be my instant best friends when I meet them. I just consider this situation a win-win I am working full time but I have 3 days off in a week which I would love to spend taking care of puppers no matter how old or young they are Right now, I prefer dog sitting in the owner’s home or dog walking in a safe park or neighborhood since I’m renting and the landlady does not allow dogs
“Cynthia was a great sitter! She was very communicative with me and sent me pictures of my cat while she was there. I felt like I didn’t have to worry about him at all when I was away for Christmas! Absolutely will try to rebook with her anytime I have to leave town!”

“Sidney is great! Super friendly and not bothered by my wacky dogs and their little issues. She arrived right on time and sent cute pics! Will definitely book with her again.”

“We had a great experience with Marina! She is reliable, caring, and wonderful with our dog. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in good hands while we work such long hours. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker!”

“Shannon did an awesome job on her drop-in visits with our three cats. Our home was also in great shape when we returned; all cat waste was handled properly. There is huge peace of mind knowing that our furkids are happy when we leave home.”

Tara did an amazing job taking care of our cat, Evonne, while we were away this weekend! She is always very communicative throughout her visits and sent us pictures, which we really appreciated and gave us peace of mind while we were gone. Evonne was well taken care of, and it was clear Tara made sure she had everything she needed. We’re very happy with the care she provided and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. We will definitely book with Tara again!

Emily took such wonderful care of our babies, she was thoughtful, going above and beyond what we’d expected. She even hurried over and let Koko out of a bedroom that he trapped himself in when he pushed the door closed. Thanks so much, Emily, for being our kitty hero!

We had a great experience with Marina! She is reliable, caring, and wonderful with our dog. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in good hands while we work such long hours. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker!

Erica was so patient and caring with Bentley. We met prior to my vaca to walk through the instructions. She was so accommodating and punctual in getting to each check in. Followed all the steps I gave her for Bentley and for the house. Took pics and kept me updated through oir vaca. I would definitely rebook with Erica again.

Julia is amazing! She's dependable, easy to communicate with, and it's obvious she really loves animals. We really appreciate the updates she sends and the peace of mind knowing our pup is getting great care while we're away. We're so glad we found her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

My Leah always takes some time getting comfortable with people. That said, Le’Yana listened and used all my tricks and suggestions to help Leah become at ease with her visits. I can always tell when Leah is happy with her visit by her behavior when I get home…and Leah is happy! Le’Yana has been a joy and I receive lots of pics and updates🙂
