“Wendy and Daniel were absolutely wonderful. We get nervous leaving our Boston terrier if the person is not familiar with the brachiocephalic breed and they made us so comfortable at the meet and greet! Barney had the best time and can’t wait to book again.”

“We left our cat, Drizzle, with Mariia D. for a week while on vacation. Mariia was great - she sent pictures everyday along with a message letting us know how Drizz was doing. I will be using Mariia again!”

“I Want to gatekeep this woman so bad because the truth is.... she was frikking incredible. She sent me SO MANY Pictures of my girl Koko while i was abroad and even took koko on car rides, hiking and swimming. I felt SO INCREDIBLY at ease leaving Koko with her newly minted Titi Coleen. Coleen is a great and genuine person. I trust her with Koko and i know that anyone can trust her with their loved pets”

“Olive and daughter Olivia are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. And, they are obviously dog lovers. Maggie was happy as could be. Olive texted pictures and it was obvious Maggie was having a great time. I wouldn't hesitate to use Olive's services again.”

“Sharon is wonderful!🌸 I can only trust her with my Cindy! Thanks to Sharon, I can go on vacation with peace of mind, knowing that my dog will be well taken care of. Cindy is no longer young and has serious health problems. Sharon always takes care of her with love.❤️”
“Mikaila is amazing!! She is so professional and on top of everything. She sent timely updates and pictures while watching Bogey, and took thorough notes during our meet and greet to make sure she gave my dog the most personalized care she could. I have a rescue and he can be very timid, but he warmed up to her, and I've never seen him so excited about a dog sitter before. Highly recommend!”

“Exceptional care for our Stella again on her good days and bad days as a senior pup with a chronic health condition. Ryan and his family go above and beyond to ensure she is loved and has the best care even offering vet trip. You can travel knowing your fur baby is in great hands.”

“Simply the best! The sweetest people that took the best care of our goldendoodle Summer for a week long stay while our family was on vacation. We know she was showered with love and attention the entire time. They are experienced dog lovers and we’d love to use them in the future! PS - I think Summer was sad to leave!”

“Alexa is great at what she does! My pup Nathan had a wonderful time and was very well taken care of. Alexa provided plenty of updates (including photos) and was fantastic about keeping track of and administering his allergy medication. 10/10 would recommend”

“Dana took great care of our dog, Max, during his first overnight stay. She sent photos and kept us updated on how Max was doing. We have already booked Max for a week stay at Dana’s while we are on vacation.”

“We’ve never used Rover before but this was a great experience. From the meet and greet to the drop off to the pickup, it was all very professional. Felt so comfortable leaving Cali with Allan and Anne Marie. The communication was great throughout and they sent us pictures daily of how much fun Cali was having. Will definitely be a repeat customer!”

“Bobbi is the best !! We felt so comfortable dropping off our 1.5yr old labradoodle knowing she was in good hands. Bobbi is so lovely, caring, and always kept us in the loop. Would definitely recommend / utilize again 💕”

“This was our first experience both w Rover & Jia. It was EXCEPTIONAL. The fenced yard was exactly as described. She was caring, knowledgeable about pet care, & excellent communicator. Loved the updates & pix she would send. I have had my 9yr old Wheaten for only 10 mos & she is very calm & sweet, but now very attached to me. This was the first time i left my rescue in a new environment & she did just fine. Will certainly contact Ji anytime I need help w my pooch. Thanks to Rover for this accurate depiction of Ji!”

If we could leave more than five stars, we would. Jelly was so loved by this wonderful family that I think he would have stayed longer if he had a choice. Communication, dependability, peace of mind—Amanda provided all of that and more. This will be Jelly’s family when we are out of town from now on, no question.

Amanda and her family were like a second family for Jenga while I was in Italy. I was so nervous to leave her for 2 weeks, but the love and affection they gave to Jenga made her feel so comfortable and happy while I was away. I could not recommend this sitter any more!! 5 stars is not enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amanda was very accommodating and helpful with our last minute request to take care of our dog for two weeks. She sent us pictures and gave us updates while we were away. Amanda treated our fury best friend like her own. We are very thankful for the care she gave our sweet Charlie. Thanks Amanda!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Elephant home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Elephant.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Elephant sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
