Heather does outstanding with my two girls! My littlest baby lupita who has always been very fearful of strangers absolutely loves her. She usually takes a while to warm up to new people but met heather the first day and loved her. My oldest girl Nana is a big love bug so she of course had to be all over her the first day she met her. Heather made the process of trusting someone other than myself to love and care for my babies as I would a very easy and stressless process. She accommodated all the special needs of my girls, checked in frequently, and answered any questions I had. She was very flexible with her schedule when a change of walking time was needed. I have nothing but good things to say about heather and could not have picked a better person to trust my baby girls with.

About: I’ve taken care of animals on and off my whole life, ranging from my own babies to ones of my neighbors or friends. All animals in the age range from puppies to senior dogs! I can also care for other animals such as small rodents or amphibians! I can work almost any time, whenever the owners may need me! I work a temporary service position at Notre Dame so my week availability will almost always be open. I always make sure their spaces are clean and they get plenty of attention and love while I visit. Their food and water is always fresh and to the standards of the owner, and I always double check their spaces before I leave.

We are so happy to have found Michaela! Rainer is thrilled when she comes to visit. Michaela is punctual, careful, and considerate, and was willing to work with Rainer despite his reluctance to walk. She leaves detailed accounts of her visits and in general has a wonderful sense of what dogs need. Thank you, Michaela!

About: I’ve had dogs and cats all my life. I’ve potty trained them, taught them how to walk with a leash, taught them tricks like sit stay and say your prayers, and too many to say. I will spoil your fur babies like I do mine. You would never have any worries while you’re away they will be in good hands. I love and enjoy being around dogs and or cats. I’d send you videos and or pictures of your fur baby. Some owners have their fur babies on a schedule if so I will do the same. if there is a park nearby I’d probably take them there. But first I would ask the owner what they would like me to do sense it is their pet. I'm retired so I'm flexible. My routine is the fur babies routine. I'd like to keep it that way for them, so I would need to know. I have a fenced in yard, not big for big dogs tho. They will be fed, played with and cuddled. If they need to be caged I have a large one for their comfort.

About: Growing up, I have always had 2-3 dogs in our household, and have showed them the upmost love, care, and affection as possible. I have grown up with many Chocolate Labs as well as a Sheltie and a Havanese. I’ve worked with all ages, from puppy to 16 years old. My dogs have always been and still are viewed as family which is why, as a dog owner, I would want the most trustworthy, compassionate, and responsible person taking care of them. I can assure you that I will treat your dog the way they are supposed to be treated, as family. I am available after 12:30 PM in the afternoon to walk your dog, or check up on them so they have some company throughout the day! My times are pretty flexible, so please reach out if you need the times to be flexible. While taking care of a pet, I think it it’s important to make sure they are comfortable. Making sure their water is full, fed on time, depending on the dog, getting the right exercise, and of course giving the pet love and attention. I love to play fetch with dogs and take them on walks so they can get outside and enjoy the outdoors.

About: Hi! My name is Bridgette, and I’ve been caring for animals for over 20 years. In addition to working for a boarding facility in the area I am the go to pet sitter for friends and family. I have extensive hands-on experience with dogs, cats, and other small animals, including senior pets and those with special needs. Through years of caring for animals I’ve developed a deep understanding of animal behavior, health, and wellness. I know how to recognize signs of stress or illness, introduce pets safely to new environments, and create a calm, comfortable atmosphere for even the most anxious pets. I understand that every animal is unique, and I’m committed to providing personalized, compassionate care that helps them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I treat every dog like my own! I am currently very open in my schedule. I am available days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Whether it is drops ins for a walk or doing a combined dog and house sitting I am available. When I am caring for a pet I devote 100% of my energy to them, whether that be playing fetch in the yard, going for walks, or even just hanging out with them and letting them chill out. I do whatever your furry friend prefers. I do not have any animals at home right now so having an animal who doesn't like fellow pets is no problem.

About: I’ve taken care of various family/friends pets since I was a young girl, and have worked with animals for a few years in a mobile dog grooming truck. I’ve loved animals since I can remember, and have always had some sort of pet! I understand that pets are family and need loved the same way we do, so they will be treated with nothing less than that I guarantee. My daily/weekly routine is currently pretty flexible, so I’ve got some spare time to help watch your babies while you’re away, take them out for walks/potty breaks, or whatever you may need help with! Because of previous work experience, I’ve gained quite a bit of knowledge and understanding when it comes to handling and interacting with dogs/cats. As I said before, I’ve always had a love for animals, so I strive to care for them with as much love and interaction as possible.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
