About: Hello - I’m Rick! I’m born and raised in Chicago, and lived with dogs all my life, and had a cat when I was a teenager. My girlfriend, Cristina, and I are passionate about pets and animal advocacy — we have fostered eight dogs a various ages and breeds through a local animal shelter. We have provided lots of care and training to help them prepare for their forever home. We're also familiar with administering medications to pets as needed. We live in a house with a backyard and we are two blocks from a state park where we spend lots of time walking and enjoying nature. We’re excited to meet you and your pet and provide the care comfort and peace of mind every pet parent seeks!! For the safety of our pets and those we are caring for, dogs we host must be crate trained. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions! My girlfriend works from home during the day and I work night shift so someone is usually always home. Our schedules are flexible and we are able to accommodate special requests - don't hesitate to reach out! We have an Australian shepherd mix who is 7 years old -- he's very friendly and would love to keep your pet company! We recently adopted a 3-year old American Pit Bull Terrier - she is petite and loves to hang out with her big brother! :-) We also have crates for small to medium size dogs if your pet is more comfortable sleeping in a crate. We’re happy to accommodate special requests to ensure the comfort of your pet! For new clients, our meet and greets typically last about 15 minutes, and we can have your dog(s) explore the backyard or go on a group walk together.

Ricardo & Cristina D.
Star Sitter

“Hello, Thank you for the opportunity to tell you about Ricardo and his love for our four legged 💕🐶 friends and companions. I truly feel that Ricardo (Rick) has a very special connection to dogs, they thrive and connect with him. He has his own dog, Roscoe, who simply adores him, always happy to see him with lots of tail wagging and kisses. He has also fostered a few dogs in the past from an animal rescue. He loves spending time with his dog Roscoe and the foster pups. He walks the fosters and Roscoe to a beautiful state park and enjoys exploring with them on their leashes. Rick also gages if the fosters are ready to walk together or separately. He enjoys seeing how these experiences help the pups learn about their surroundings, learning to walk on a leash and allowing them to adapt to new faces and new pups. He is very compassionate of dogs, I witnessed once as he helped a dog owner catch his dog that had gotten out of his harness, without hesitation he assisted the owner to safe keep his pet. I can confidently recommend Ricardo to be a responsible and a loving pet caregiver. Ricardo will be a great asset to your organization. Thank you.”
