About: I grew up with dogs - my Afghan, Kesha, was my first best friend and how I learned to braid (lol). I've cared for Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, Cockers, and Min Pins. I've dog-sat and cat-sat for family and neighbors for years, and now my daughters and I are ready to open our peaceful home and fenced yard to pets needing love while their people are away. Our house has a crate, a basement space, and plenty of tail-wagging energy. Dogs aren't just welcome here, they're remembered forever. I'm currently home during the day with a very flexible schedule. I have plenty of time, space, and love to offer pets who need calm, consistent care while their owners are away. Pet care fits easily into my routine and brings so much joy into our home. I approach every client's home with the same respect. I would want someone to have in mine. I've worked in private homes as a section 8 inspector, a home care aide, and an insurance rep, so I'm comfortable operating professionally in someone else's space. I follow all house rules, keep things clean, and ensure pets feel safe and at ease while you're away. We live in a pet-friendly neighborhood. My daughters and I often take walks around the neighborhood, so any pet we care for will get the benefit of fresh air, familiar sights, and friendly energy. We have a peaceful, fenced yard, a crate if needed, and a quiet, unoccupied basement space for rest or separation when appropriate. I'm very aware of animal behavior, neighbor pets, and how to make pets feel safe and seen. This is a calm, kid-friendly, and pet-loving home.

About: I have worked with animals in various roles throughout the years, from working in a doggy daycare, to volunteering and fostering with various rescue organizations (OTAT, RWAR). I am experienced in senior pet care, administering medication, and some obedience training. I have a soft spot for brachycephalic breeds, and I owned and raised a Boston Terrier rescue dog for 12 years (RIP Batman 2009-2023). I currently own a mellow and submissive lab/husky mix, Henry, and a Maine Coon/Domestic Medium Hair cat, Tater Tot. Both get along with other animals. I am currently not working a full time “normal” job, so I have plenty of time to walk and babysit your furry friends. I am available for on-demand walks in the city limits of Chicago and south suburbs. For North and Northwest Suburbs, I can be flexible with enou I own a historic Victorian row home; it is 3 stories plus a basement and 2600 sq ft. My home is in the heart of the Historic Pullman District, on National Park Service land. My neighborhood is VERY safe, and my home is also down the street from the 005 District Police Station. My home has plenty of room to spare for your fur children. Not only that, I also have a 6 ft fully fenced yard. There is a dog park 3 blocks from my home, and I am in close proximity to several Forest Preserves. If baths are requested, bath lovers can enjoy baths in a jacuzzi tub, and bath tolerators will be bathed in a walk in shower with a double rainfall showerhead, and a handheld shower head for the hard to reach spots. I can offer pickup and dropoff for those without a car or time to spare, and dogs will be transported in a seatbelt for safety.

“Maren has been a godsend to us. We brought Luna home at 8 weeks and I was super nervous about finding someone to look after her while my partner and I are at work. We were in a tricky position because she's not crate trained yet, so she needs all-day care, but doggy day care's won't accept her because she doesn't have all her shots. When I asked Maren to look after our little rascal 2x a week for 2 months, she was incredibly accommodating. It's been 2 weeks now since Luna has started "camp Maren" and it's been great. Maren communicates well and sends multiple updates throughout the day. Luna loves Maren so much that she does a little happy dance (which involves jumping, wiggling, and lots of kissing) every time they meet and I can tell she's not quite ready to leave when we come pick her up. If you want someone who will love and take care of your dog as her own, look no further! Thanks, Maren!”
