I also spent time every week on my family's farm, where I became comfortable around many different animals, including dogs, cats, horses, cows, bunnies, turtles, chickens, and ducks. By now I have petsit for quite a few special needs animals, who trained me well! I regularly cared for a senior dog with diabetes, so I am comfortable giving insulin shots. I also watched a dog who was essentially in hospice care. I spent 3 weeks taking care of a cat with asthma and another month with a cat to whom I administered chemotherapy, and I have excellent testimonials from all of their humans. I love being active and going on long walks, but I’m also happy to be a couch potato if I’ve got a furry friend keeping me company.
