“Maria did a great job! The boys were walked, they seemed very comfortable with Marie, and she sent pictures. I am very thankful for this service, everything worked out perfectly. This is the first time I tried Rover, I will definitely use it in the future.”

About: As an experienced dog foster, I have cared for more than 25 dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, representing a wide variety of breeds and sizes. In addition, I was the proud owner of four dogs who each lived long, happy lives and reached their senior years before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the important role pets play as beloved members of the family. I am a school teacher, and with school now in session, my available has shifted. I am available each day starting approximately at 3:30 and can do early morning prior to school. I would love the opportunity to support families who need a safe, loving temporary home for their four-legged companions. Whether your pet needs overnight care, companionship during the day, or some extra exercise and attention, I am committed to providing the same level of care and affection that I would give my own dogs. As a teacher, I am currently on summer break, so I have availability daily throughout the week for play sessions and dog walks. I am also available for multi-night lodging. When you’re here, you’re family. Any animal under my care will be treated as one of my own. But with me, you get a whole family who are all trained in caring for dogs and cats, as each member of the household has been involved with fostering pups and raising kitties. The second floor of the house is separated by a door at the top of the stairs to allow separation between feline and canine friends if needed. Daily photos and FaceTime are available. We have multiple-sized dog crates if crating is requested. Although we may be new faces to your four legged companions, we will try to keep consistency in the rules you have at your home. If they are allowed on your couch, then they will be here. Feeding schedule will be dictated by how they ate at home. Walks will be frequent and there is a huge box of dog toys and cat toys to keep them entertained.
“She arrives with a smile and on time. She walks our 77lb pup with no problem. Our dogs truly do like het and warmed up to her quickly. We are pleased with Barb. She will be used going forward as both a dog walker and dog sitter. - Jenn”

“Kianna helped us on short notice when we had an emergency situation. We left quickly with practically no instructions - but Kianna was so easy to work with - so professional and so great at communicating about our pets. We are so very thankful to her and would highly recommend her!!”

About: I’ve taken care of several pets my whole life! I truly enjoy dealing with all kinds of breeds and ages for both dogs and cats. También hablo español! I am a full time student and also work part time during the weekends . My available days are Monday to Thursday in the afternoon to late evenings. I’m open to discuss any time frame that works for you! I will do my best to make sure to understand your pet needs. Being aware of surroundings, understanding walking routes, behavior management, and any other instructions requested by the owner.
“Danielle is a wonderful walker. She really cares about your pet. She also tries to get to know the owner and all the silly quirks your pup has. I would recommend her to anyone. - Jenn”
“Malia is the best! She is communicative, reliable, and timely. And she loves my dog! She takes lots of pictures and sends great updates so you know that your pet is well cared for.”

“Erica was great and very patient with our pups. We have one dog that is very skiddish and takes awhile to warm up. He actually warmed up by the second day which is unusual for him. So glad found her as we lost our other dog walker who recently moved.”

“First time using Rover, and Stephanie made it a stress free experience. She offered to meet with our dog (Callie) first, prior to booking, to get a feel for her and her routine. Callie had a great time on her walk and was a happy camper.”

“Mya is amazing with our dog. We have booked her on many different occasions and she’s always great. We were nervous having a stranger walking our little guy, but Mya is awesome. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for someone you can trust your puppy with!”

About: I’ve had a family dog since I was 4 and have loved each greatly. I’m great with all, no matter how big or small. I will make sure they’re treated like the family they are. I have experience giving medications if needed as well as keeping to routines. I’m currently self employed, so there’s plenty of time and energy to spare on doggos and kitties! I currently work from home and can take my work on the go if need be. I’m in an area that’s very walkable and I walk daily. I don’t have pets of my own so any time I get with them, whether friend’s or family’s, is a delight. I follow care specifications of clients to a T. I try to make sure the animals are taken care of as if their own parents were still there. Making sure they’re walked, fed, played with, given potty opportunities, or simply left alone if that’s what they prefer. I care for every pet as if it were my own.
About: I have loved animals my whole life. I’ve owned a Guinea pig, cockatiel, and two dogs. I have experience taking care of animals of all shapes and sizes, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and even some farm animals at Lancaster Farm Sanctuary. I also volunteered at a dog shelter in Philadelphia during college, so I have experience working with more timid and difficult animals. I am skilled in reading animal body language and excited to meet your pet! I currently have a part time job, so I will have plenty of time to care for your pets. I am flexible when it comes to the time of day or number of times your pet needs to be cared for. I have reliable transportation so I will provide punctual and dependable pet care. I am also a good communicator, so you can always message me with any last minute information and expect to hear from me if your pet needs any special attention. I will take care of your pet and home with the utmost respect. I love to take my dogs on long walks and play with them in the house, so I will be happy to do the same with your pet. You can always message or call me with any other requests so that I can do my best to make sure your pet is happy and healthy.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - East Petersburg
Taylor is fantastic with Rey. She takes Rey for walks, plays with her in the backyard and showers her with love. She keeps me updated if Rey got into some mischief around the house or during the walk. She also makes sure Rey is fed and has fresh water before leaving. I’m lucky to have Taylor’s care for Rey when I can’t be there.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
